“No way. That’s enough to make you unable to resist?”

“I fell in love with Mr. Lin before, but now, you make me admire you even more. 1 like men who can cook.”

“Then continue to admire me, there are so many people who admire me, so one more won’t make a difference.”

Caie Mitsui smiled brightly and innocently.

But Lin Yi had always been wary of her.

A person who could kill her own brother with her own hands was always dangerous.

“Do you want to watch a movie?” Caie Mitsui suggested.

Lin Yi looked at his watch. “Let’s go. It’s still early anyway. There’s no point in me going back now.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to spend time with your girlfriend? Will she call you halfway through?”

“Don’t worry, I’ve taken care of everything,” Lin Yi said.

“If I can’t even handle such a small matter, how can 1 continue to roam the martial world?”

Caie Mitsui covered her mouth and laughed. “I’m reassured now that you’ve said that.”

The two of them got into the car and drove towards the cinema.

Lin Yi sat in the front passenger seat, bored.

If he spent the night eating and watching movies, he would end up having wasted his time.

He had to think of a way to get more information out of Caie Mitsui.

“Huh?”

Just as Lin Yi was thinking of a way to get information.

He suddenly realized that there was a Toyota Crown following them.

At first, Lin Yi thought that it was his imagination, but in the end, he realized that it was indeed a stalker.

“Slow down. We’re being followed.”

“Yes?”

Caie Mitsui, who was originally smiling, suddenly stopped and became serious and calm. This made Lin Yi feel a sense of deja vu.

“Are you sure?”

“When have I ever made a mistake?” Lin Yi said.

“You should think carefully now. There are people who dare to follow you in Sunrise Land. Did you offend someone recently?”

“No.”

“What about your family? Such things are common in commercial competition.”

“That shouldn’t be possible either.” Caie Mitsui said,

“We’re a financial group from Sunrise Land. No one is our direct competitor, so no one would follow me.”

After a few seconds of silence, Lin Yi deliberately said,

“Do you remember when we were in Meiguo? After we got off the Quantum Cruise Ship, a few Meiguons followed us. Could this person be in cahoots with them?”

Lin Yi knew that the person following him couldn’t be from the Black Gold Corporation.

He only said that to get Caie Mitsui to tell him.

“It’s been a long time since this happened. Through subsequent communication, we’ve reached a settlement. They wouldn’t suddenly do such a thing.”

Caie Mitsui pulled to the side of the road and glanced in the rearview mirror. She saw that the black Toyota Crown was also parked more than ten meters behind her. A bad premonition arose in her heart.

“Who do you think is following you? If you can’t figure this out, you won’t be able to solve the problem.”

This was something Lin Yi desperately wanted to know.

This was because in Sunrise Land, other than the Mitsui Family and Black Gold Corporation, there was definitely another force that was involved in this matter.

It was very likely that the people following behind were the remaining group.

And this group of people was very likely tied to Black Gold Corporation.

Therefore, the most important thing now was to figure out their identity. Nothing else mattered for now.

“Mr. Lin, this is my private matter. It might be dangerous, and I don’t want to implicate you. I’ll send you back now.”

Caie Mitsui had her own selfish motives. She didn’t want Lin Yi to see too much, so she wanted to send him back and slowly deal with this matter herself. She already had an idea of the culprit behind this.

In Sunrise Land, Yushi Mitsui was the only person who dared to do such a thing to her.

“Are you kidding me?” Lin Yi said faintly.

“At the end of the day, we’ve known each other for so long. We’re both enemies and friends. Now that you’re in trouble, what would happen if I leave just like that? You make it seem like I’m afraid of death.”

Caie Mitsui looked at Lin Yi in surprise, a warm feeling flowing in her heart.

However, she didn’t know that this was Lin Yi’s plan.

“But you have nothing to do with it. I don’t want you to get into too much trouble.”

“I’ve already provoked you, what could be more troublesome than this?” Lin Yi said.

“And last time at Quantum, you didn’t seem to be afraid of trouble. You even asked me to be your bodyguard.”

Caie Mitsui bit her lip in embarrassment.

“I didn’t do it on purpose last time. If you hadn’t been there to protect me, I was really afraid they would have attacked me.”

“You don’t have to think too deeply about it this time either. They didn’t come with armed with nuclear weapons, so what are you afraid of?”

Caie Mitsui glanced at the rearview mirror and said,

“The person following me should be sent by my second uncle, Yushi Mitsui. You know him, right?”

“Yushi Mitsui?”

Hearing this name, Lin Yi felt that it was both familiar, but also very unfamiliar. Eventually, he soon remembered who he was.

The second-in-command of the drug research and development center.

However, after he rejected him, Yushi Mitsui resigned from the research and development center.

He thought that this fellow would disappear without a trace, but he didn’t expect him to appear at this moment.

“Aren’t you relatives? Why is he following you? Could it be that he wants to kill you and usurp the throne?”

“Ever since Ito Mitsui died, he left the Mitsui family. Although we share the same bloodline, we are now standing on two different sides. We can even be said to be enemies.”

“I don’t think he’s qualified to challenge you,” Lin Yi said.

“You guys are real titans. At most, he’s a scientist. Even if he split off, he’s not on the same level as you. How would he have the guts to do such a thing?”

“The situation is not as simple as you think.” Caie Mitsui combed her hair and said,

“He used to be the chief scientist of the family laboratory. After he left, he took away half of the core technology. Although he can’t compete with the Mitsui family in terms of size and power, the core technology he possesses cannot be ignored.”

Hearing this, Lin Yi understood what was going on.

It’s similar to the earlier situation between the first family, Wang Family, and the second family, Lu Family.

Even though these two prominent families held different ranks, their core competencies and influence are equal.

The reason why the Wang family was ranked as the number one family was because they controlled the Merchants Bureau Group. However, this was not the key factor.

It was the same for the Mitsui family and Yushi Mitsui.

In a higher-level game, money was just the icing on the cake. Only by mastering the core technology could one establish a foothold in the political realm.

It was not difficult to guess the core technology that Caie Mitsui had mentioned.

It was the gene sequence serum!
