“No, no, no. We’re in public. It’s not good to be touchy.”

“Tsk, you still care about this?”

“All things considered, I still have a reputation to maintain. If you want to do these sorts of things it’ll have to be in private.”

“You’re not fun at all.”

Lin Yi smiled and stopped teasing Yan Ci. “We’re almost done. The filming should start soon.”

Yan Ci combed her hair that was messed up by the wind and said,

“I found a good spot here, about five kilometers from Happiness Village. There’s a mountain called Tianbao Mountain, and it has hazelnut trees on top. We can use it as a scenic spot for the program, but the road is not in good condition. I’ve asked someone to fix it up. Since you have nothing to do, why don’t you come with me to take a look?”

“There’s a mountain here?” Lin Yi was a little surprised. “I’ve lived here for so long, but this is the first time I’ve learned that there’s a mountain nearby.”

“You always adopt a ‘mind your own business, high and mighty’ attitude, not caring about anything that doesn’t concern you,” Yan Ci teased.

“Well, that’s not entirely true. It depends on whose business it is,” Lin Yi replied. “But I won’t accompany you this time; I have other work to do.”

“What kind of work?”

“I need to wash the pigsty.”

“I’ve already asked someone to help you clean it. You don’t have to worry about such a small matter.”

“Really? Are you really the complete package? Not only did I sleep with you, but you also helped clean the pigsty?”

“It’s because the smell was too strong. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I helped you. Don’t pretend to be so gracious after taking advantage of me.”

“Then let’s go. I have nothing else to do.”

Then, under Yan Ci’s command, the two of them arrived at the foot of Tianbao Mountain.

Lin Yi was surprised to find that this place wasn’t bad. There was a small stream winding past the foot of the mountain, and the mountain was filled with hazelnut trees. Although it wasn’t tall, it was quite nice.

At the foot of the mountain, two excavators and two trucks were loading and unloading the residual soil on the ground. They were working on making the path more solid.

However, what was interesting was that the people driving the excavator were Zhang Hoping and Gao Haoyu.

“You actually brought them here?”

“I didn’t want to ask them for help at first, but I told Mayor Gao my thoughts. He said that this was a good thing for Four Corner Town. Coincidentally, the two of them know how to operate an excavator, so they were sent to help.”

“They truly live up to the names ‘hidden talents’ and ‘rising stars.’ With their assistance, this show is bound to be a huge success. It’s hard to imagine it not becoming popular.”

“Hoping, wait a minute. You seem to have dug up something!”

Gao Haoyu’s exclamation made Zhang Hoping stop what he was doing. With a cigarette in his mouth, he stuck his head out.

Zhang Hoping brushed his bangs off his forehead. At this moment, it was as if the wind in the world was blowing for him alone.

In terms of looks, Lin Yi believed that he was better than Zhang Hoping.

However, when it came to temperament, he indeed felt inferior, as Zhang Heping had a way of keeping him in check.

Some things are truly innate and cannot be hidden, even if one comes from a humble background.

“What’s wrong? Did we dig up an ancient tomb?” Zhang Heping said.

“I heard from the old man at home that there’s a Tang Dynasty minister’s tomb buried under Tianbao Mountain. Could I have dug it up?”

“Oh? Then won’t we be rich? Let’s go down and take a look.” Zhang Haoyu climbed off the excavator excitedly. “I’ve just finished reading the Grave Robber’s Chronicles recently. I still remember the plot.”

“The heavens are really helping me.” Zhang Heping threw away the cigarette butt excitedly. “I just prepared a Luoyang shovel. It’s going to come in handy now.”

Seeing how excited the two of them were, Lin Yi and Yan Ci were also a little stunned.

If they really dug up an ancient tomb, it would be exciting.

At the thought of this, the two of them quickened their pace and jogged toward the construction site.

The four of them gathered together and looked at the state of the ground. They were all silent.

“What are these black things?” Gao Haoyu asked.

“It looks like a cable,” Zhang Heping said.

“That’s impossible. There shouldn’t have been electricity during the Tang Dynasty.”

“I don’t know much about history, but it’s said that the Tang Dynasty was prosperous. Perhaps there really was electricity,” Zhang Heping said seriously.

“Then this minister is too amazing. He actually laid a cable in his tomb,” Gao Haoyu said matter-of-factly.

“According to my guess, this person has to be at least a prime minister. Otherwise, it’s impossible for him to receive such treatment.”

Hearing the two of them speculating about the situation in front of them, Yan Ci’s face darkened.

She approached Lin Yi and whispered,

“You said they are hidden talents and rising stars? But what kind of hidden talents and rising stars act like this?”

“Well…”

Lin Yi pinched his brow, feeling that this matter was a little f*cked up.

“Stop, stop, stop…”

Lin Yi interrupted their conversation.

“The two of you have been discussing for so long. Didn’t you realize that you dug up some optical cables?”

“Huh? Optical cables?”

Lin Yi’s words shocked the two of them.

“After all that, it wasn’t an ancient tomb. I got excited about nothing.” Zhang Heping said.

Lin Yi,”…”

“That’s not the point, okay? You dug up some optical cables, do you understand? You have to bear legal responsibility. Do you get it?” “What the f*ck, that can’t be. Doesn’t that mean that I just committed a crime?” Zhang Heping was also shocked. “What the f*ck are we going to do?”

“Don’t worry about anything else for now. Hurry up and call Mobile Unicom. Ask them whose fiber optic cables have been dug out. As long as we show a humble attitude, it shouldn’t be a problem for us to just compensate them and go our separate ways,” Gao Haoyu said.

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s do it together.”

“Uh-huh.”

The two of them took out their phones and made a call, preparing to ask whose fiber optic cable had been dug out.

Lin Yi and Yan Ci stood at the side.

“If I had known this would happen, I would have hired a professional.” Yan Ci didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Based on the state of this, I think I’ll have to pay the compensation.”

“They didn’t do it on purpose, but I’m puzzled. They’ve already dug up the optical cable, but they can still think that the ancient tomb can be powered by electricity. This is a truly unique way of thinking.”

“That’s a nice way to think about it.”

About half an hour later, the two of them finished their call and walked over in a relaxed manner.

“We made calls to all the telecommunications company, and they all said there is no problem.” Zhang Heping replied.

“It’s probably an abandoned optical cable. We’ll get Uncle Gao to investigate later and find out what happened.”

“Damn it, I was scared to death just now,” Gao Haoyu said.

“If we really dig out the optical cable like this, our families would have to pay for it.”

“This is a blessing in disguise.”

Yan Ci,”…”

That was not the way to use this idiom, alright?

“Alright, since it’s not the optical cables of the three major operators, there won’t be a big problem,” Yan Ci said.

“Little Yu, don’t work for now. Call your father first to confirm if it’s an abandoned optical cable before starting work.”

“My dad went to the county for a meeting. I don’t think I can get through to him either,” Gao Haoyu said.

“But I don’t think it’ll be a big problem. Other than the three major telco operators, who else would lay cables here?”

“Did you call the military?” Lin Yi said lightly.

Yan Ci,”???”

Military optical cable???
