Chapter 893 - 893 The Strange Yunjian Mountain

893 The Strange Yunjian Mountain

After a few seconds of silence, Yan Ci said,

“Do you still remember that when we were talking on the phone, we realized that two foreigners were missing?”

“I remember.”

“We still haven’t found those two people. Is it possible that they were the culprits?”

!!
“In this situation, everyone is suspicious.” Lin Yi said.

“Do you have any information on those two?” Lin Yi asked.

“One of them is Owen. He’s from Tanzania and is a supermarket cashier. The other one is Jones. He’s from Los Angeles and is a truck driver. They’re both low-level people who live on credit cards. There’s nothing wrong with them.”

Lin Yi nodded and thought for a moment. “Don’t tell anyone about this yet. If you see them, don’t get too agitated. I’ll deal with everything once I come back.”

“In your condition, you can’t participate in the following program anymore. If your wound is infected, it will lead to huge problems. Hurry up and go back with me.”

Lin Yi tried to move his shoulders and said, “This injury is nothing. You don’t have to make a fuss.”

“This is a gunshot wound. It’s different from other injuries. I have to send you back for further treatment.”

“This competition is very important to me, so I can’t quit halfway.”

With that, Lin Yi patted the dust off his body.

“You can go back first. I know what I’m doing. In any case, it’s impossible for me to back out.”

Looking at the man beside him, Yan Ci frowned.

“I don’t know what to do with you.”

The two of them turned around and went back. Yan Ci said to the others,

“Leave the medicine for them. Continue recording what happens next.”

“Right, go back and do something for me,” Lin Yi said. “There’s a person called Chen Bingqiang saved in my phone. Send him the information on the two foreigners and ask him to help check them out.”

“Got it!”

After giving instructions, Yan Ci pulled Lin Yi along and nagged him for a long time before getting back into the helicopter and leaving worriedly.

The others weren’t related to Lin Yi, so they didn’t say anything about this. They simply boarded the helicopter and left one after another.

However, for Lin Yi’s safety, Yan Ci secretly arranged for security personnel to follow him and the others to prevent such a thing from happening again.

At this point, only Lin Yi and the other two were left in the area.

However, the fear in Zhao Yinian and the cameraman’s hearts had not completely dissipated.

They were both ordinary people. This was the first time they had seen a shooting happen in front of them.

It felt like they were acting in a movie. It took them a long time to get used to it.

“Brother Lin, what should we do next?” Zhao Yinian asked softly.

“Continue forward,” Lin Yi said.

“I just can’t move this arm for the time being. It’s not crippled though, so it won’t delay us.”

“Um, okay.”

This time, Lin Yi’s pace was much faster. It only took him ten hours to walk out of the wading area.

To Zhao Yinian and the cameraman, it was as if they had just escaped death.

As long as he was careful, they should not encounter any problem for the rest of the journey.

For the next ten days or so, their journey was very uninteresting.

Besides traveling, they only ever stopped to eat. Although Zhao Yining and the cameraman could barely keep up with Lin Yi’s pace, they both persisted

During this period, Lin Yi’s injuries had mostly recovered. As long as he didn’t do any strenuous exercise, there wouldn’t be any major problems.

Other than leaving an inconspicuous scar, there were no other side effects.

Not only did it not affect his attractiveness, but it also added a hint of masculinity to his character.

In addition, there was another piece of good news. The two foreigners whom he had suspected had returned to the shore and met up with Yan Ci and the others.

However, according to Yan Ci’s description, the two of them were no different from ordinary people.

It was difficult to link them to the assassination attempt.

Lin Yi didn’t say much about this. He only reminded Yan Ci not to alert the enemy and stall the two of them as much as possible before the investigation results came out.

As for the remaining matters, he would deal with them when he returned.

After another day and night of traveling, the three of them arrived at the foot of the mountain.

Lin Yi held the document in his hand and glanced at it.

This volcano was called Yunjian Mountain. It was about 800 meters tall and was not considered big.

The only difficulty was that it was steep and very difficult to climb.

“Finally, we’re almost at the finish line.” When they reached the foot of the mountain, Zhao Yinian sighed.

“Although I followed you here, I’m very impressed with myself.”

Lin Yi nodded. He had a whole new level of respect for Zhao Yinian.

A gentle and weak female celebrity was able to keep up with his pace and persevere all the way here. Ordinary men would not be able to keep up with him.

With her tenacious personality, it was possible for her to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry in the future.

“Mr. Lin, let’s rest here for a while. I have something to tell you,” the cameraman said.

“Sure, go ahead.”

“Now that you are here, my work is almost done,” the cameraman said.

“When we climb the mountain later, I’ll follow you for a while. When the time comes, I’ll hand the job over to the aerial photography team. However, you will need to constantly adjust your angle so that you can show your face more.”

“Alright, I understand.” Lin Yi smiled. “It’s time to rest.”

Yunjian Mountain was very steep and it was not easy to climb.

Even so, Lin Yi felt that it shouldn’t be a problem for him.

It would take at most five hours to reach the top of the mountain. However, with Zhao Yinian by his side, it was hard to say how long it would take.

The three of them sat down and ate something. Now that it was the last stretch of the show, the three of them did not scrimp and ate to their heart’s content.

Apart from that, Lin Yi also threw away all the other useless things in his backpack, leaving only some necessary items for climbing the mountain. His goal was to reduce the weight he was carrying and make it easier to climb the mountain.

Apart from that, Lin Yi also gave Zhao Yinian the portable oxygen tank.

With her physical attributes, she shouldn’t experience altitude sickness, but if she did, she wouldn’t be able to handle it.

After an hour of rest, the three of them were ready.

They then began to climb the mountain.

At first, the mountain was not steep, and climbing up was not as strenuous as he had imagined.

However, after climbing more than 100 meters, the mountain began to rapidly get steeper.

It brought a certain level of difficulty to the climbing.

At the same time, a small helicopter flew above the three of them.

“Mr. Lin, my colleagues have arrived. They’ll be in charge of filming the last part of the show. I can only follow you up until here, but I’ll be watching you from the helicopter. You must work hard and stick our flag on the mountaintop!”

“Definitely!”

Before parting, Lin Yi and Zhao Yinian hugged the photographer and continued climbing the mountain.

Lin Yi wasn’t in a hurry because the first place would definitely be his, so he didn’t abandon Zhao Yinian at this time.

Instead, he brought her up the mountain. Due to this reason, their speed was a little slower, but it did not affect the end result.

When he was more than five hundred meters away, Lin Yi suddenly realized a problem.

After climbing for so long and helping Zhao Yinian along the way, he did not feel any discomfort in terms of physical strength.

He even had the illusion that this was effortless.

At first, Lin Yi thought that it was an illusion, but when he turned around, he realized that Zhao Yinian was also full of energy. The spare oxygen tank he had prepared for her turned out to be useless.

This was a little strange. It completely went against the laws of nature.

What was going on?
