I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 889 - 889 Strange Event

889 Strange Event

“Then I’ll take you as far as I can. It’s up to you to keep up with me.”

“Yes, yes. Thank you. I’ll try not to cause you trouble.”

After walking for about two hours, Lin Yi instinctively stopped.

He looked around cautiously.

!!
His keen sense of smell told him that the smell of blood in the air was unusual.

Lin Yi guessed that he might have already reached the danger zone. Otherwise, the smell of blood wouldn’t be so strong.

“Go to the back and stay with the cameraman. I’ll open a path for you guys up ahead. Don’t run around. You guys walk the way I walk. Keep a distance of ten meters behind me.” Lin Yi said cautiously.

“Also, if you find yourself in danger, remember to run to me.”

“Huh? Shouldn’t we be running in the opposite direction?”

“When it comes to these things in the jungle, other than snakes which don’t even have legs, you can’t outrun anything. If you run in the opposite direction, do you think it will stay idle?”

“If I stand beside you, we will be safe, right? You can protect both of us, right?”

“How am I going to protect you in a place like this?” Lin Yi said, “If anything happens, I’m going to execute plan B.”

“What’s plan B?”

“I’ll throw you to the side first, then I’ll throw the cameraman to the side as well. I’ll use your two lives to create a chance for me to escape.”

“Damn, you’re so f*cking unethical.”

“Brother Cameraman, she’s swearing. Remember to record that.”

Zhao Yinian, “…”

“Well, I think we should be more serious. After all, we’re in the wading area.”

The cameraman was unusually nervous.

This was because they had never come here when they were scouting.

This stretch of water was unknown to everyone.

The unknown often represented danger.

Zhao Yinian did not say anything else. He stood with the cameraman and observed the surroundings.

Lin Yi took out the dagger from his bag and walked forward cautiously.

Just like that, they continued for more than two hours without coming across anything abnormal.

Due to this, Zhao Yinian and the cameraman were a little relaxed.

They were all ordinary people, and it was difficult for them to maintain a focused state for a long time.

Moreover, they were also hoping that they would be lucky.

Although this was a wading area and there were dangers everywhere, as long as they were careful, they might not necessarily encounter any crocodiles.

Thus, the two of them relaxed a lot.

On the other hand, Lin Yi became even more nervous because the smell of blood in the air seemed to have become stronger than before.

Apart from that, there was also a faint stench in the air.

This environment made Lin Yi especially careful.

He did not know what would appear in front of him, so he could only take it one step at a time. At the very least, there would be no danger lurking directly around him.

“What’s that smell?!”

Half an hour later, Zhao Yinian’s voice broke the silence.

At this moment, not only Lin Yi, but Zhao Yinian and the cameraman also smelled the stench in the forest.

“Stay where you are. I’ll go over and take a look.”

The two of them obediently stopped in their tracks.

Lin Yi walked forward alone and stopped after another twenty meters.

This was because he saw the corpse of a crocodile in front of him, and it was already rotten.

Lin Yi went forward to take a look, a serious expression on his face.

He had thought that the crocodile might have been attacked by its other companions, but unexpectedly, there were no obvious injuries on its body.

On the other hand, there were wounds on the crocodile’s head from being attacked by sharp weapons. Moreover, these were fatal wounds!

Lin Yi’s pupils constricted as his heart beat wildly!

From the wound, it was obvious that the crocodile had been killed with a dagger!

But who had killed it?

It was definitely not Yan Ci and the others.

Otherwise, she would have told him in advance.

In addition, if the production team really encountered this guy when they were scouting, they would not have left the corpse here. They would definitely have brought it back.

Thinking of this, Lin Yi fell into deep thought.

The most likely person to do this was someone who was participating in the show.

However, if he had the ability to kill an adult crocodile with just a dagger, how high would his level be?

Even Lin Yi felt that he had no chance of winning against such a big guy without using his dantian.

In other words, there were experts on the same level as him in this show.

Moreover, the other party’s speed had already surpassed this crocodile’s. Otherwise, the crocodile wouldn’t have died here.

At the thought of this, there was one more question that Lin Yi couldn’t answer.

According to the how decomposed the corpse was, it must have been dead for at least three to five days.

The production team had only just landed on the island a few days ago, and it was not like they remained idle.

Even if this guy was faster than him, he could not be so much faster.

‘Who the f*ck did this?’

With the current situation, Lin Yi couldn’t come up with any possibilities.

Therefore, in his opinion, the croc murderer was very likely to be much stronger than him.

He shuttled through the forest alone without sleep or rest. Then, he chose to travel through the water-logged area. Along the way, he killed the crocodile without any effort and then continued on his way.

“F*ck!”

Did such a beast-like figure come to participate in the competition?

Wasn’t this a big screw up?!

Thinking of this, Lin Yi walked back and met up with Zhao Yinian and the cameraman.

“Brother Lin, what’s wrong? Why do you look so pale?”

“Someone arrived here before us. He was faster than us. I reckon it won’t be long before he reaches the finish line.”

Lin Yi was uninterested.

The other party’s strength was definitely not inferior to his. Based on this, even if he shook off the cameraman and Zhao Yinian, it was unlikely that he would catch up to him.

Judging from the current situation, it was impossible for him to get first place.

This had all been for nothing.

“That’s unlikely, right?” The cameraman muttered.

“Among the participants, we are the fastest. No one could possibly surpass us.”

“Oh? Are you sure?”

“Of course I’m sure,” said the cameraman.

“In everyone’s backpacks is a small GPS system. Director Yan can track our location accurately. Just now, she told me through the earpiece to be steady. Now that we’re first place, no one will catch up to us for a while.”

Hearing this, Lin Yi was surprised at first, and his expression became even more puzzled. He even found this unbelievable.

According to the cameraman, he was definitely in first place now. No one would walk in front of him. But how could he explain the crocodile’s corpse?

Moreover, the wound on this thing was definitely man-made, so who could have done this?

Could other outsiders have come to this deserted island during this period of time?

Lin Yi suddenly had goosebumps.

Which normal person would come to such a place for no reason?

And he even f*cking killed a crocodile?!
