873 Cowardly and Pretentious

“Turned back?”

Wu Wenshu was shocked. He quickly stood up and leaned out the cabin to look outside.

However, in the vast sea and the dark sky, it was impossible to see which direction the ship was going.

However, Yan Ci’s words were definitely not wrong.

!!
“Why is this happening? Why did we turn back? Who’s so bold to do this?!”

“Lin Yi,” Yan Ci said, “He ordered the Starfish to return after you disqualified him.”

“This is nonsense!” Wu Wenshu slammed the table. “This ship was hired by the station. What right does he have to order it to return?! What’s wrong with the captain? Is he just a useless…”

“This ship belongs to Lin Yi.”

Wu Wenshu’s scolding stopped abruptly, and his expression froze in an instant.

“W-What did you say? This ship belongs to Lin Yi?”

“That’s right.” Yan Ci shrugged and said.

“Not only is he an internet celebrity streamer, but he’s also the boss of Wangjiang Dock. If it weren’t for the fact that we know each other, he wouldn’t have agreed to rent us this boat. Our fee wouldn’t even be enough to pay for the fuel for the trip.”

Wu Wenshu’s mind was blank, and his expression was especially comical.

“But, but we’ve signed an agreement. If he breaches the contract, he’ll have to pay three times the compensation!”

“Even if it’s three times, it’s only 900,000 yuan. He doesn’t care about that money at all,” Yan Ci said.

“Now that the ship has returned, the program can’t be recorded for the time being, so you will have to explain this matter.”

Wu Wenshu was dumbfounded. All the preparatory work for the program had already been prepared and had cost tens of millions.

If the ship returned, it would not only delay them for the next few days.

If something went wrong, it might only finish recording after the Lunar New Year.

If that was the case, the station’s losses would be immeasurable.

Other than that, there were also many people from other television stations participating in the recording of this program.

A mess on this level would make Zhonghai Television famous and might even lead to them being criticized by the SARFT.

Furthermore, he would not be able to keep his position as the deputy director.

“Yan Ci, you two have a good relationship. Go and tell him not to make the ship turn back!”

“He’s a big boss. I already asked him to lower himself a lot by getting him to participate in the show. I can’t persuade him after what happened.”

BANG!

Wu Wenshu slammed the table. “You’re the director of this show. You’re in charge of everything. Do you need me to teach you how to do this?!”

“But I didn’t drive him away.”

“Do you believe that I’ll fire you when I get back?”

Yan Ci shrugged and said, “I can’t stop you from firing me, but you’ll still have to explain why the show can’t be recorded according to schedule.”

As he spoke, Yan Ci swept her hair to the side and walked towards the door.

“Don’t go!”

Wu Wenshu was terrified and chased after her. He said in a panic,

“Where’s Lin Yi? I’ll go find him!”

“I don’t know where he is.”

“Aren’t you his friend? Give him a call.”

“He blocked me. I couldn’t find him.”

“You!”

Facing Wu Wenshu, Yan Ci was not afraid at all.

With her ability, no matter which television station she went to, there would be people fighting to get her.

Moreover, even if he wanted to fire her, it would not be so easy. After all, the station head would not agree.

“You really are…!”

Wu Wenshu was so angry that his body was trembling. After asking around, he found out that Lin Yi had returned to his room.

“Aiyo, Mr. Lin, why are you here? I’ve been looking for you for a long time,” Wu Wenshu said with a smile.

“Huh? Why are you looking for me?”

“I was in the wrong just now. Don’t lower yourself to my level. Even if I ask everyone to leave, I would never ask you to leave .”

“This ship is mine. What right do you have to make me leave anyway?”

“Well …”

Wu Wenshu looked embarrassed, but he still smiled and said,

“President Lin, aren’t we in a cooperative relationship? You can’t break the contract unilaterally.”

“I’m just going home on my boat. What’s that got to do with breaching the contract?”

“President Lin, you’re a magnanimous person. I didn’t mean it. I really know my mistake now. Please don’t lower yourself to my level.” Wu Wenshu said.

“When you land on the island, I’ll get the production team to prepare more supplies for you to protect yourself so you can strive to get a good result.”

“There’s no need for that. I like to speak with my own strength.”

Hearing this, Wu Wenshu heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed that there was still room for redemption. Otherwise, he would not have said such words.

“Yes, yes, yes. Then I’ll follow the normal procedures.” Wu Wenshu nodded and bowed.

“This has nothing to do with you. Don’t be an eyesore here. Go back nnow.”

“Yes, yes, yes. I’ll take my leave first. I won’t disturb you anymore, Mr. Lin.”

Lin Yi nodded in response.

“And the ship’s course…?”

“That’s not your concern.”

“Alright, alright, alright. I’ll take my leave first.” Wu Wenshu said.

“After the recording of the show is completed, I’ll definitely arrange a meal to properly apologize to Mr. Lin. I’ll leave first.”

Wu Wenshu nodded and bowed as he left the room. He wiped the cold sweat off his forehead.

When they were in the meeting room just now, they did not realize that this man’s aura was so strong!

Recalling what happened just now, Wu Wenshu felt that he had been a little blind.

After taking a deep breath, Wu Wenshu tidied up his clothes and returned to his normal appearance.

“Station Head Wu.”

Before Wu Wenshu could reach the conference room, he bumped into Tony, who was walking toward him.

Wu Wenshu both loved and hated this androgynous fellow.

On the one hand, he had given him a lot of commission to make himself rich.

On the other hand, this guy had offended Lin Yi, and he had been implicated.

His emotions were so strong that when he saw him again, his face was filled with conflict.

“Mr. Tony.”

As the saying goes, one should not slap a smiling face. Wu Wenshu replied politely.

“You should have dealt with the person called Lin Yi, right?”

“Well …”

Wu Wenshu paused for a moment. “I thought about it just now and felt that what I did just now was a little inappropriate.”

Tony laughed. “Are you planning to send him back overnight? I think this is a good idea. We should have done this a long time ago.”

“No, no, no. That’s not what I meant. I’ve decided to let him continue participating in the show.” Wu Wenshu smiled and said.

“You have to be more magnanimous. There’s no need to make a big fuss over such a small matter.”

“Huh? Station Head Wu, what do you mean? Are you going to let this matter go just like that?”

“Let’s forgive whenever possible. Anyway, this matter is over.” Wu Wenshu said pretentiously.

“Mr. Tony, I have something else to do. I’ll talk to you later.”

Tony’s face darkened as he watched Wu Wenshu leave.

“You’re really scheming. He’s just an internet celebrity with some fans. Do you really take him seriously?”
