“Principal Zhao, you’re much more experienced than me, and your connections are better than mine. It’s more appropriate to write your name on it.”

“Don’t say that. I’m just a little older than you. In terms of networking, I’m definitely not as good as you,” Zhao Qi said.

“You’re the director of Longxin Research Institute, so you must know better people than me. Besides, the things those two students created is all software related. You’ll definitely be more useful than me if you were to be assigned as the supervisor.”

“Alright, it’s not a big deal. When will I need to sign it?”

“Let’s do it now. Those two students are also in school. I’ll call them over.”

!!
“Sure.”

Zhao Qi returned to his desk and called his secretary, Zhou Gengzhe, to explain the matter.

About half an hour later, there was a knock on the office door.

“Come in.”

The door was pushed open and two boys, one tall and one short, walked in.

“Hello, Principal.”

After greeting him, the two of them glanced at Lin Yi, but they were unfamiliar with this person and had no impression of him.

Because they were graduate students of the university, they had left to start a business a year ago. They had only returned to school now, so they did not know that a figure like Lin Yi had appeared in the university.

“Teacher Lin, this is them. The tall one is called Zhang Bo, and the short one is called Mao Jinlong.”

After the introduction, Zhao Qi turned around and looked at Zhang Bo and Mao Jinlong.

“The person in front of you is our school’s vice-principal, Lin Yi.”

“Vice principal?”

Both of them were very surprised to learn of Lin Yi’s identity.

In their impression, anyone who could become a vice principal had to be at least a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties.

They had never thought that such a young person would become the vice principal of the university. How many backdoors did he have to use?

“Hello, Principal Lin.” The two of them nodded in greeting.

“Didn’t you want me to sign the application for the entrepreneurship fund? After thinking about it, I felt that it was more suitable for Principal Lin to sign it, so I asked him to come.”

“Ah?!”

Both of them looked a little reluctant.

They wanted Zhao Qi to sign it not only because he was the principal of the university.

It was because of his connections throughout the education system.

If in the future they found a potential investor and the investor saw that the supervisor was Zhao Qi, the former would likely give Zhao Qi some face and the negotiation would be smoother.

This was their main goal.

However, if the instructor was replaced by the person in front of him, what was the point of all this?

“Alright, don’t just stand there. Bring the application over. I’ll get Principal Lin to stamp it and sign it.”

The two of them hesitated for a while and did not hand over the application.

“What are you two doing? Do you want him to sign or not?” Zhao Qi said with a straight face.

“Principal Zhao, we want you to sign it.”

“Me?”

Zhang Bo nodded. “This entrepreneurship fund is very important to us, so we have to find someone important to sign it. If we can’t get investments in the future, our project will go bankrupt. This matter can’t be taken lightly.”

“You two brats, what are you talking about?!” Zhao Qi slammed the table.

“Do you know how much effort I spent to get Principal Lin to sign it? Do you know how precious Principal Lin’s time is?!”

“Principal Zhao, I know that his time is precious, so there’s no need for him to sign. It’s better for you to do it.”

Zhao Qi’s expression was ugly as he tried to explain to Lin Yi,

“Teacher Lin, don’t be angry. I’ll talk to them properly.”

“There’s no need. Since I’m not qualified, you can do it.”

“You’re the president of Longxin Research Institute. If you’re not qualified, who is?”

“Principal Lin is president of Longxin Research Institute?”

Obviously, Zhang Bo and Mao Jinlong were both aware of Longxin Research Institute and knew how reputable this place was.

“What else? Why else would I ask Principal Lin to come over?”

“Well …”

The two of them looked very awkward.

If they had known that Lin Yi had such an identity, they would have asked him to sign it back then.

He worked in this circle, so his words would definitely carry more weight.

“Principal Lin, I’m sorry. We’re young and irrational. Please don’t hold it against us.”

“Alright, no need to apologize. I have a good relationship with Principal Zhao, so you don’t have to worry about this,” Lin Yi said.

“How much investment do you want to apply for?”

“500,000…”

“Go to Lingyun Group and find someone called He Yuanyuan. Tell her that I asked you to come and ask for 500,000 yuan from her. This matter will be settled then.”

“Lingyun Group?!” Zhang Bo and Mao Jinlong were stunned.

“That’s the new big company in Zhonghai. It’s said that their two buildings alone are worth 18 billion yuan. In their eyes, the two of us are nothing.”

“Just mention my name. Someone will definitely cater to you.”

“Really?”

“Lingyun Group is my company. Who would dare to reject you?”

“Huh?”

Hearing this news, even Zhao Qi was stunned.

“Teacher Lin, is Lingyun Group really yours?”

“Yeah,” Lin Yi said matter-of-factly, “It’s just that I didn’t publicize this news, so not many people know.”

Zhao Qi wiped the sweat from his forehead.

“Teacher Lin, you’ve really impressed us.”

“It’s not a big deal. Don’t worry about it.”

Seeing Lin Yi’s calm expression, Zhang Bo and Mao Jinlong were shocked.

In terms of age, Principal Lin was about the same age as him.

However, not only was he the president of Longxin Research Institute, but he was also the behind-the-scenes boss of Lingyun Group.

Compared to them, who had only developed a small software, they were worlds apart.

The most infuriating thing was that they had looked down on him just now.

What a f*cking idiot!

“Why aren’t you thanking Principal Lin? What are you standing there for?” Zhao Qi said.

“Thank you, Principal Lin. Thank you, Principal Lin.”

“If you want to thank someone, thank Principal Zhao. I am doing this for him.”

“Yes, yes, yes. Thank you, Principal Zhao.”

“Alright, this matter has been resolved perfectly. You guys can leave first. Principal Lin and I have other things to discuss.”

“Yes, yes, yes, Principal Zhao. We’ll take our leave first.”

The two of them walked out of the office excitedly. Zhao Qi looked at Lin Yi and said,

“Teacher Lin, look at this mess. It looks as if I’m the one asking you for money. I really didn’t know that Lingyun Group was your company.”

“What are you talking about? I’m the vice-principal of the university. It’s only natural for me to do something for the university. Besides, 500,000 yuan isn’t a lot. I’ll earn this amount in the blink of an eye.”

Zhao Qi chuckled and revealed an expression that all men understood.

“Teacher Lin, since we’re done with this matter, I still have something to tell you.”

“Tell me.”

“There’s a school welcoming ceremony at three in the afternoon. You’re an important leader of the school. Since you’re here today, let’s attend it together.”
