“Alright, alright. Let’s not talk about this anymore.” Li Chuhan said.

“Go about your business.”

“Got it, Director Li.”

The matter surrounding Wang Zeyi quickly died down. After that, the people in the department didn’t pay much attention to it anymore.

They seemed to have accepted it.

!!
“What do you want to eat for lunch? I’ll order it,” Li Chuhan whispered when it was almost noon.

Lin Yi looked at his watch. “I have something on in the afternoon, so I won’t be eating in the department. I might not come in the afternoon.”

“Go ahead. I’ll keep an eye on things.”

“Yeah.”

After saying goodbye, Lin Yi changed his clothes and left. He drove to Lingyun Group to ask about the company.

“In twenty minutes, we’ll gather at the Zeexuan restaurant next to the company. The two of you can book a private room for us.”

Lin Yi called He Yuanyuan after leaving the hospital.

“No problem.”

Ring!

Just as he hung up, Lin Yi’s phone rang again. It was Sugar.

“Are you coming to school this afternoon?”

“How do you know that?”

“I heard from Principal Zhao,” Sugar said. “I’m not feeling well this morning. Can you pick me up on your way there?”

“You have your own car.”

“My car was hit. It’s being repaired at the 4S store.”

“Alright, give me your address. I’ll pick you up then.”

“Uh-huh,” Sugar said. “Do you have time now for a game?”

“You’ll have to pay me to play.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi drove to the Sichuan restaurant he often frequented.

As soon as he pushed open the door of the private room, he smelled the fragrance of chili.

There were seven or eight dishes on the table, and only one cold dish was vegetarian.

Qi Xianzhao sat obediently at the side while He Yuanyuan ate happily. She had no intention of waiting for Lin Yi.

“Director Lin.”

Qi Xianzhao stood up to greet Lin Yi.

Lin Yi nodded and looked at He Yuanyuan.

“I’m still the boss. Did you really start eating without me?”

“It’s mainly because I’m too hungry. President Lin is too much. How can you accuse me of such things?” He Yuanyuan licked her lips and said.

“I won’t argue with you about this, but there are only three of us. Can you really finish so many dishes?”

“I can’t finish it.” He Yuanyuan said.

“I’ll take the rest home with me so that I can have dinner. It’ll be a waste not to enjoy some of the company funds. I’m not as stupid as Brother Qi.”

“You don’t take me seriously at all!”

“Don’t say that. You’re still very important to me. Who else can pay me so handsomely?”

“In view of your performance today, shall I deduct a little more of your salary?”

“Don’t.” He Yuanyuan put down her chopsticks. “Don’t always threaten people with money. Don’t you have any feelings for me?”

“Stop fooling around. Let’s eat.”

Lin Yi stopped joking around with He Yuanyuan and said as he ate,

“How’s DiDi doing?”

“It’s just an empty shell over there. The data center has been moved to our side,” He Yuanyuan said.

“However, the acquisition involved many personnel adjustments. President Cheng and President Tian are actively dealing with these matters. In another week at most, everything will be settled.”

“Alright, let’s keep this matter under control. After I’m done with Cisco, I’ll start the related work.”

“Speaking of Cisco, I just remembered something,” He Yuanyuan said.

“Cisco is almost done with our three billion yuan order. A conservative estimate is that the goods will be delivered in another week.”

“Already?”

“They found many factories in the country to support them, so their rate of production naturally increased.”

“Not bad, not bad. It’s time to put my plan to action.”

Qi Xianzhao and He Yuanyuan were both very curious about President Lin’s plan.

Something big must have happened.

“Boss, is there anything else we can help you with?” He Yuanyuan asked.

Although she always bickered with Lin Yi, she was always on his side.

“Sing a song to liven things up. That way, I can eat more.”

“I wouldn’t want that. You should eat less. After all, I get to bring the remainder back home.”

Qi Xianzhao and He Yuanyuan could not do much about Cisco.

At this point, Cisco was about to deliver the goods. The main participant was in this matter still Longxin.

When he had time, he had to make a trip to Longxin and arrange the relevant tasks.

Having said that, after killing Cisco, the two of them would be busy.

“Boss, do you want to hear about the foundation?” He Yuanyuan was full from eating and drinking. She picked her teeth with a toothpick and looked like a female hooligan.

“Tell me. I have nothing else to discuss anyway.”

“So far, we’ve sponsored 174 orphanages across the country. The total donation amount has reached 82 million. A few days ago, we held a meeting to study it and decided to slow down our expenditure in this area. We’re also prepared to provide further assistance to the institutions under us.”

“Go on.”

“Director Zhao, the person in charge of the foundation, submitted a report to Brother Qi. I think her analysis makes sense,” He Yuanyuan said.

“She said that the foundation is a bottomless pit and can’t create any benefits for the company. She wants to restructure it so that it’ll benefit us.”

“It’s not effective to just fund orphanages. If we want to invest in some key poor counties in the country, we should build a Hope Primary School or something. It’s better to teach a man how to fish than to give him the fish directly.”

“Have you accepted this proposal?”

Qi Xianzhao and He Yuanyuan looked at each other and nodded.

“We don’t think it’s a big problem. Yuanyuan did a project calculation in the early stages. If she wants to build a Hope Primary School, the cost, from the administrative expenses in the early stages to the completion in the later stages, will amount to a total of about two million yuan. It’s not a huge sum. With the current scale of Lingyun Group, we can still afford it.”

“Is this just the cost of building an elementary school?”

“Yes, but if you want to do a Nongkuo Junior High School, about 500,000 yuan will be enough. Moreover, you can entrust the projects to Chaoyang Group. This can be considered as keeping the goodies to yourself.”

“That’s fine, it’s not much anyway,” Lin Yi said, “Do you have a specific target now?”

“In Director Zhao’s report, she gave us two choices. Beiqiao Town and Furong Town are both poor towns in Yangcheng. It’s not convenient to travel out, and there are many children left behind. Educational resources are very limited, so they’re very suitable to use as a test group.”

“Beiqiao Town?”

Lin Yi mumbled. Wasn’t this Li Chuhan’s hometown?

“President Lin, do you know Beiqiao Town?”

“I know a little about them. I heard it’s a pretty poor place.”

“They’re more than poor,” He Yuanyuan said. “There’s not much farmland in the town, and much of the land there is salted. When the heavens are in a bad mood, they can’t even feed themselve.”

He Yuanyuan changed her posture and continued, “I’ve checked the information about this place. Their annual GDP isn’t as much as your annual income.”

“Um…”

“Let’s get down to business. Don’t talk about my precious income. Isn’t this a personal attack?” Lin Yi said.

“Besides, even if that was the case, it doesn’t mean that their GDP is small.”

“I underestimated you.”

“Then let’s do it this way. Let’s set the location of the Hope School to be in Beiqiao Town.” Lin Yi said.

“But what about the teachers? If there are no teachers in the school, this will all be empty talk.”

“We’ve thought about that too. Taishui City is about thirty kilometers away from Beiqiao Town. It’s a small fourth-tier city. Although its a little small, its level of urbanization is not bad. We can conceptually teachers in this place and have them commute to and from work.”

“Just 30 kilometers?”

Qi Xianzhao nodded and sighed.

“It’s just that the road conditions aren’t good. Even if its only 30 kilometers away, there’s only a muddy dirt road, mountain road, and a suspension bridge connecting the two. It’s very difficult to travel by car. This problem can only be overcome with high salaries.”

“If that’s the case, the time spent on the road every day will exceed four hours. Even if we can offer them a high salary, we can’t be sure if they’ll be willing to come.”

“That is indeed a problem,” the two of them said in silence.

“Phew…”

Lin Yi took a deep breath. “It’s only thirty kilometers, how many children’s dreams have been ruined because of this?!”
