“Are you at Huaqing Lake?”

“It’s obvious that the beautiful Ms Liang is a sharp person. The girl only asked if I wanted to add another session, and you already realized where I am.”

“Cut the crap,” Liang Ruoxu said.

“I really admire you. Why are you going to such a place so early in the morning?”

“Aren’t you in charge of finance? I’m here to support you.”

!!
“What nonsense are you spouting? I don’t own that place. How could you be supporting me?”

“Under normal circumstances, there wouldn’t be anyone here during the day. I came over to spend money and directly increase Huaqing Lake’s income. They naturally have to pay taxes on anything they earn, so isn’t this equivalent to increasing Zhonghai tax revenue? This also indirectly increases our GDP.” Lin Yi said.

“As a public servant, how dare you speak to the taxpayer in such a tone? Who gave you the right?!”

“After all that fuss, you have to admit that you are getting a massage, don’t you?”

“Alright, let’s not split hairs over this.”

“I really can’t be bothered with you.”

After Liang Ruoxu hung up, Lin Yi didn’t worry about her anymore and said to the new technician,

“Big Brother is going to sleep for a while. When the time is up, extend the session indefinitely until I wake up.”

“I know, I know.”

The young female technician suddenly understood the charm of money in a big city.

In the past, people only knew how to refill cups indefinitely. She never expected someone to increase the expensive massage indefinitely too.

What an eye-opener.

At two in the afternoon, Lin Yi opened his eyes in a daze and felt much more energetic.

There was a WeChat message from Ji Qingyan on his phone. It was sent at around 12 noon.

She asked Lin Yi if he was asleep and if he had eaten lunch.

After a simple reply, Lin Yi prepared to change and go home.

Ring.

Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was an unknown number.

“This is Zhao Wen.”

“Damn, you’re not dead yet? Are you a cockroach?”

Lin Yi already admired Zhao Wen to death. She was still alive after taking ten of those pills. How impressive.

Zhao Wen did not say anything and said coldly,

“I want to talk to you.”

“What do you want to talk about? I’m not in the mood right now. Is your bubble bath at the hospital not to your preference?”

“I’m asking you to give me a chance. There’s something very important I want to tell you in person.”

Lin Yi rubbed his chin, feeling that Zhao Wen had changed.

‘I guess I’ll go and see her.’

It was also pretty damn pitiful.

After putting on his clothes and eating, it was already past three in the afternoon by the time Lin Yi drove to the hospital.

“Brother Lin, why are you here again?” Qiao Xin said. “I thought you wouldn’t come in today.”

“I’m just checking on Room 804.”

“I’ll get the emergency first aid equipment ready.”

Lin Yi was speechless.

Do you know me that well?

He pushed the door open and entered Room 804. He found Zhao Wen sitting on the bed with a pale face.

However, her reaction this time was different from yesterday. Zhao Wen turned her head when she saw Lin Yi enter.

Beside her bed was a chair that seemed to have been prepared for Lin Yi.

“Do you have a cigarette?” Zhao Wen asked.

“This is a hospital. There’s no smoking allowed. Besides, I don’t have any cigarettes on me.”

“But I want one.”

“What the hell?”

Zhao Wen’s expression was calm. She did not move, but the nurse who happened to pass by the door nodded.

“Let’s get straight to the point. What will it take for you to stop? Tell me your conditions.”

“From your tone, you must have been instructed by Pfizer to negotiate with me.” Lin Yi crossed his legs.

“Since you’ve already said that you’ll get straight to the point, be more sincere. Show me your sincerity.”

Zhao Wen paused for a second. “The head office has agreed to reduce the price of ibuprofen to 138 yuan as Mayor Liang requested. The prices of the 25 imported medicines from the six major pharmaceutical companies have also stopped increasing. Moreover, they will even be sold at the original price.”

“Are you f*cking crazy? You called me all the way here just to talk to me about this?” Lin Yi said.

“We don’t even plan to use your medicine anymore. Why are you still playing this game? Do you think I’m very free?”

“Then what do you want?” Zhao Wen said coldly.

“Ibuprofen for 9.90 yuan. The price of the other 25 medicines to be reduced by two-thirds. This is non-negotiable.”

“That’s impossible.” Zhao Wen said.

“There’s still room for negotiation for the 25 imported medicines, but it’s impossible for ibuprofen to drop to 9.90. 23.4 yuan is our bottom line. The pie is simply too small. Even if there will still be some profit, the capitalists won’t take a fancy to it.”

Lin Yi thought about it. If the price was 23.4 yuan, it would cost less than a hundred yuan a month to take the medicine. The price was acceptable. After all, the commoners in Huaxia were not overly poor.

In a few days, the Huaxian medicine he was researching would also start being produced. If the civilians ate the two together, the price would be even cheaper.

In a sense, this price was acceptable.

“Alright, 23.4 is acceptable, but I need something else. If you can provide it to me, this matter will end here. When that happens, feel free to brag online. By then, your share price can still recover, but if you don’t agree, everything that happened before will have been in vain.”

Zhao Wen looked at Lin Yi with a serious expression, “What condition? Tell me.”

…

Twenty minutes later, Lin Yi walked out of Room 804. Qiao Xin and a few other nurses were holding emergency equipment and looking at Lin Yi nervously.

“Brother Lin, why did you take so long to come out? Did you kill her? Do you still need the emergency equipment?”

Lin Yi flicked Qiao Xin’s head. “She’s full of vigor after being nourished by myself. She’ll be discharged tomorrow.”

“Are you serious? She can be discharged tomorrow even after being tortured so badly?”

“Of course.” Lin Yi waved his hand and walked towards the elevator.

“Director Lin is amazing. I want to be nourished by Director Lin too,” Yuan Siqi said.

…

After leaving the hospital, Lin Yi called Liang Ruoxu.

“Do you have anything to do tonight? Come and eat some barbecue.”

“Huh? Are you asking me out?”

“What else? Buy some meat. Oh, and bring your swimsuit.”

Without giving Liang Ruoxu a chance to speak, Lin Yi hung up.

On the other end of the phone, Liang Ruoxu was stunned for a while when she heard the dial tone.

“How dare you hang up on me?”

Liang Ruoxu stood up angrily. “If you don’t tell me what meat you want to eat, how can I buy it?”

Liang Ruoxu was about to go to the supermarket when she suddenly muttered to herself,

“His pool is really big.”

At the thought of this, Liang Ruoxu changed direction and drove home.

…

When he reached home, Lin Yi set up the barbecue equipment.

About an hour later, Liang Ruoxu came back with a big bag of things.

It was rare for Liang Ruoxu to wear a light green floral dress and flat-heeled sandals. However, she still looked very tall and gave off the gentle aura of a housewife.

“Come, come, come. I’ve been waiting for you.”

“You’re making yourself pretty comfortable.”

“It’s only right.”

“How dare you ask a woman like me to buy meat?” Liang Ruoxu rolled her eyes and said.

“I’ll be the one doing the grilling,” Lin Yi said.

“Besides, I was also preparing the barbecue tools and swimming pool. You just needed to get the meat. This is called split-barbequing. It’s a new P2P model. Why doesn’t Mayor Liang have the financial intelligence to understand this?”

“I can understand you needing to prepare the tools, but what do you mean by preparing the pool?”

“I can’t let your bathing suit and figure go to waste. Aren’t I considerate?”

“I think you’re up to no good.” Liang Ruoxu put down his things and said, “Did you invite me here for something?”

Lin Yi fiddled with the charcoal on the stove. “What? Can’t I look for you for no reason?”

Liang Ruoxu adjusted her dress and sat elegantly opposite Lin Yi.

“A person like you would probably rather go to Huaqing Lake than look for me when you have nothing to do.”

“Well, you’re right. I did look for you for something.”

“What is it?” Liang Ruoxu looked at Lin Yi seriously.

“Beauty Liang, look at how big our swimming pool is.”

“I know your pool is big. Tell me what it is first.”

“Look at the water in the pool. It’s so clear.”

“I know it’s clear. Can we talk business first?”

“Look at you…”

“Alright, stop hinting at me. I brought my swimsuit.”
