Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 50: Jet! There’s Poison in the Water
[With a look of confusion, you boarded the aircraft, stunned by the sight before you. In your mind, the Blood Beast Ban had a rather primitive, jungle-like aesthetic, yet here they were with such a high-tech aerial vehicle.]

[You had initially expected them to send a flying Beast Tamer, like Eagle Man, or use ground transportation like cars or trains to pick you up. However, you realized you had underestimated their strength.]

[You promptly corrected your thinking. Although you were a Preparatory God, you still couldn’t let your guard down. After all, your Divine Power hadn’t recovered, and your godly life was still very long. You had to be careful, then be careful again.]

”Come on, what Divine Power? You can’t seriously believe you’re a god, can you?”

Chen Pingchuan was speechless. The divine persona in the simulation was becoming increasingly abnormal, even more exaggerated than before. Being a little mentally unhinged is one thing, but you can’t get so into character that you forget who you really are. If you’re a god, then what does that make me? Do I have to start telling people I’m the reincarnation of some ancient deity?

”Ridiculous!”

After a disdainful scoff, Chen Pingchuan silently resolved to start automatically ignoring such idiotic text in the future.

After all, stupidity is contagious. This system upgrade, combined with my own impulsive choices... why is the style of this thing getting more and more bizarre?

[The soft seatback was very comfortable. You praised Major General Hu with a look of satisfaction, your opinion of him changing. Although Major General Hu didn’t seem particularly bright, he certainly knew how to serve a god.]

[The flight was smooth, without any uncomfortable changes in air pressure, and you slept soundly until you reached your destination. You didn’t head directly to the Blood Beast Ban’s headquarters. Instead, you first stopped at the branch in Kailing Province to await further instructions.]

”Kailing Province.”

Chen Pingchuan jotted the name down in his notebook.

At first, he could still draw comparisons between this world and his previous one. But ever since meeting Xia Qingxue, he became increasingly certain that this was not a parallel world with a similar ideological environment. By all accounts, it should be considered a different world entirely.

[The aircraft landed on an island named Spirit Beast Island, which served as the Blood Beast Ban’s branch in Kailing Province.]

[Following Major General Hu, you met with the Island Master of Kailing Island, Gui Nan Yilang.]

[As Major General Hu and Gui Nan Yilang belonged to different factions, Gui Nan Yilang did not give you a warm welcome. This made the face of Major General Hu, who had brought you here, darken with anger.]

[Gui Nan Yilang’s attitude didn’t bother you, because you never argue with a dead man. You instructed Major General Hu to prepare your accommodations, then left with Black Demon One, who was completely wrapped in an oversized robe.]

[For the next week, you wandered all over Spirit Beast Island but didn’t see a single female Beast Tamer, like a Catwoman, Foxwoman, or the like.]

[You felt a bit disappointed. After all, as a god, how could you not be surrounded by Divine Attendants? And the best candidates for Divine Attendants were attractive female Beast Tamers with excellent figures and exceptional temperaments.]

[You voiced your confusion to Major General Hu. He explained that because of their lesser ability to endure pain, many female Beast Tamers failed during the first stage of fusing with beast genes. They were ultimately consumed by their beastly nature and transformed into humanoid beasts.]

[The answer left you bored. You decided against staying here permanently and asked Major General Hu about recent changes on the island.]

[Major General Hu looked you over with suspicion but found nothing amiss. He then briefly described the changes on the island over the past few days.]

[For some unknown reason, all the Beast Tamers on the island had recently come down with rampant diarrhea. Everyone was either on the toilet or rushing to one, causing the entirety of Spirit Beast Island to reek to high heaven.]

[Even more absurdly, it was rumored that due to a shortage of toilets, several Beast Tamers, fighting over a spot, actually started brawling while... explosively relieving themselves. The scene was said to have been quite spectacular.]

[Thanks to your warning, Major General Hu and his entourage had avoided the island’s food and water, thus escaping the catastrophe.]

[You were quite satisfied with your masterpiece. As long as your Jet Fighter Potion was sprinkled in the water source, it didn’t matter if you were a Beast Tamer or what kind of anti-diarrhea medicine you took—it was all useless. You then asked about Gui Nan Yilang’s condition.]

[Major General Hu was now certain that you were the cause of the changes on the island, but he didn’t expose you. He answered your question without a change in expression, saying that Gui Nan Yilang was also in bad shape, but since he had a private bathroom, the exact details were unknown.]

”Wow. I’m just... wow.”

Where is the dignity of a god? The decorum? Is this how you act as a god? Chen Pingchuan didn’t know how to react anymore. Just because the guy had a bad attitude, you turned into a Biochemical Warrior and unleashed a plague upon the island’s Beast Tamers. Did you even consider the consequences? What happened to your long godly life? What happened to being cautious?

Thinking of this, Chen Pingchuan chuckled wryly and murmured, ”I guess my expectations were too high.”

Just as Chen Pingchuan was feeling disappointed with the simulation, the information feed updated again.

[As you and Major General Hu were discussing the changes on the island, an unexpected guest quietly appeared behind you.]

[Relying on his own abilities, Major General Hu instantly detected the newcomer. He locked his gaze on the man—it was Gui Nan Yilang. His tiger-like eyes narrowed, and his mood grew heavy. Major General Hu suspected that the man had already figured out what you had done.]

[Gui Nan Yilang’s arrival did not surprise you. It was obvious the changes on the island began after your arrival. Anyone with a brain would realize you were involved, so it was only a matter of time before he found you.]

[The atmosphere grew tense. You glanced at the hesitating Major General Hu and said softly, ”Go on. Crush the first stepping stone on your path forward.”]

[Hearing your words, Gui Nan Yilang’s expression changed dramatically. He was astounded that an ant-like figure would dare command a Beast Tamer who had reached the Seventh Transformation of the Fusion Realm. Just as he expected Major General Hu to tear you to pieces, the Major General attacked him instead.]

[Gui Nan Yilang threw up a defense, blocking Major General Hu’s attack while shouting, ”Wang Feihu, are you insane? Instead of capturing the poisoner beside you, you attack me? Are you trying to rebel against the Blood Beast Ban?”]

[Gui Nan Yilang’s words were useless. Before the battle, Major General Hu might have hesitated, but now that the fight had begun, he had no intention of holding back. He only wanted to tear the man before him to shreds.]
