Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 16: Corruption! King of Black Magic
It was an extremely terrifying dark-type talent. According to the simulator’s usual tendencies, its information was never without purpose.

Several guesses flashed through Chen Pingchuan’s mind. Once the Parasite Seed takes hold of a host, it subtly alters their mind. Since he was linked to the other side, would his own character be altered by their emotions and desires? And given it was a dark-type talent, the feedback would surely be negative emotions.

Greed, jealousy, arrogance, lust, belligerence, cruelty, brutality...

Although only a few of these negative emotions had appeared in the simulation so far, no one could say if things would intensify in the future.

With a heavy heart, Chen Pingchuan continued the simulation.

[Despite indulging in debauchery for the past six months, your obsession with power has never ceased. You have consumed a large amount of genetic agents and trained your physical fitness to its absolute peak.]

[Your pet, Black Demon One, has also undergone a secondary evolution thanks to the lavish resources you poured into it.]

[Gazing at the pitch-black night sky, you are no longer content with being the leader of the Purple Bird Gang. Familiar with the rules of the game, you decide to expand rapidly before the red rain arrives.]

[You dressed up Black Demon One in a wide brown robe, a dark golden beast-head mask, black trousers, and large leather boots. Now capable of walking upright, it was difficult to recognize Black Demon One as anything unusual at a glance.]

[In two months, the Purple Bird Gang expanded at a shocking rate as you implemented a simple strategy: submit and prosper, or resist and perish.]

[Forces that submitted were annexed. Those that resisted were annihilated, their entire families slaughtered by Black Demon One and your followers.]

[Black Demon One had become your executioner, and its vicious reputation as the ’Bloody-Handed Butcher’ of the Purple Bird Gang resounded throughout the outer city.]

[By ruthlessly exploiting the poor, you extorted vast sums of Federation Coins, sending every last one to the City of No Night.]

[As a result, you received preferential treatment. Despite the massive commotion you caused, you remained unscathed. Even City Hall turned a blind eye to your brutality.]

Chen Pingchuan could no longer lie idly on the bed. He rose gently and sat at his desk.

Black Demon One, which had been lying at the edge of the bed, was startled awake. It lifted its head, its already limited intelligence filling its gaze with confusion as it looked at Chen Pingchuan.

Chen Pingchuan looked at it and let out a chuckle, whispering, ”You’ll be quite the badass in the future, huh? The ’Bloody-Handed Butcher’? You still look like a silly black dog to me.”

Black Demon One couldn’t comprehend his words. Receiving no command, it lowered its head once more, found a more comfortable position, and resumed feigning sleep.

[You became the uncrowned king of the outer city, yet no one knew your true intentions.]

[You quietly parasitized the prison warden and began secretly remodeling the prison.]

[A month later, the Doomsday Bunker, converted from the prison, took shape. You were very satisfied with your masterpiece.]

[Firstly, the prison’s layout was much better suited for your Doomsday Bunker design. Secondly, compared to the cement factory, which required time-consuming and laborious transport of materials, the outer city prison’s location was uniquely advantageous.]

[The inmates were baffled by the changes happening around them, but they were powerless to resist.]

[You calculated the timing of the red rain’s arrival as a feeling called ambition relentlessly pounded at your heart.]

[Half a month later, the red rain arrived as expected.]

[In the warden’s office, you sat on a soft sofa, swirling a glass of red wine. Your gaze drifted out the window, where red rain pattered against the glass.]

[Across the desk, a group of middle-aged men stared at your back with expressions of pure worship. Judging by their attire, it was clear their statuses were anything but ordinary.]

[Perhaps the mood struck you, because you stood up and issued a series of cold commands to the men.]

[The prison warden received your order to oversee the prisoners.]

[The police chief received your order to deploy armed forces and manage security around the prison.]

[The head of the outer city’s municipal government received your order to manage logistics and daily life.]

[Many other influential figures were also brought under your command.]

[Your plan was about to begin.]

[A month later, many people began to show symptoms. You stopped the warden from reporting this information. Not only that, you ordered him to secretly mix the previously collected high-concentration red rain into the prisoners’ food.]

[In the second month, the first batch of Black Demons appeared, and you began your monstrous plan.]

[You succeeded. Your Parasite Seed was successfully transplanted into the bodies of the Black Demons.]

[You now possessed your first Black Demon Army.]

[Looking at the hundreds of terrifying, mutated Black Demons, you felt this power was still not enough to run rampant through the City of No Night. You continued to bide your time.]

[Two years later, the outer city had transformed into a living hell, yet your Doomsday Bunker remained tranquil and harmonious.]

[You threw down the long staff, your final weapon training complete. Sensing you had hit a plateau and could advance your strength no further, you decided to wait no longer.]

[Leading Black Demon One, the Black Demon Army, and hundreds of fully armed followers, you stealthily infiltrated the City of No Night through a secret passage.]

[Your followers and the Black Demon Army had a clear division of labor, successfully sabotaging multiple power grids and defense systems throughout the City of No Night.]

”Damn!” Chen Pingchuan exclaimed, stunned by his future self’s audacious maneuvers in the simulation.

The saying that ’a villain’s strength is multiplied by ten, a hero’s is cut by a third’ was clearly no exaggeration. Compared to the damage he had caused to the City of No Night in the previous simulation, this was a truly devastating blow.

[After sending Black Demon One to find the high-grade genetic enhancement agents you wanted, you set off alone. You wanted to see for yourself how the City of No Night differed from the outer city.]

[As you ventured deeper, you were amazed by the inner architecture of the City of No Night.]

[Skyscrapers soared into the clouds, and massive electronic billboards played advertisements. Transparent sky tunnels connected the buildings, while streets crisscrossed on the ground below. All the pedestrians ambled about, looking utterly carefree.]

[You contrasted this scene with the current state of the outer city: silent streets, crumbling ruins, and air thick with the nauseating stench of death, despair, and decay that had fermented over time.]

[The stark visual contrast assaulted your senses.]

[Suddenly, a loud siren blared from the sky. The once peaceful street instantly devolved into chaos, with the panicked crowd scurrying about like headless chickens.]

[Unlike the others, you strolled leisurely down the street, casually looking around.]

[You helped yourself to two ice creams from a roadside shop. The sweet, smooth texture slid across your tongue, and the rich, milky flavor flooded your taste buds, bringing a wave of pleasure.]

[It sparked a memory of the cheap ice cream parlors back home, places that never judged your empty pockets. In this world, you hadn’t tasted ice cream in three years.]

[You saw a little girl who had been separated from her parents in the chaos. You walked over and snatched the lollipop right out of her hand.]

[The little girl’s heart-wrenching sobs echoed through the street. Her mother quickly spotted the commotion. You simply smirked and turned to leave.]
