Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 9 Test! Enhance the Strength of the Black Demon
The finest teas often require the simplest preparation. As a treasure of nature, Violet only needs the most modest brewing method to bring out its supreme flavor. While others sipped their tea delicately, Chen Pingchuan was different. GULP, GULP... He chugged it straight down!

According to the information from the simulation, the Black Demon was a creature similar to a zombie, created when a virus caused a mutation in the human body. The difference was that its attack power was stronger and its reactions were more rapid. This simulation confirmed several of Chen Pingchuan’s theories. This was a massive win!

[Both Guo Yihang and Liu Yaofei were shocked by the scene before them. They had witnessed the mutation of Patient Number One from beginning to end, observing with their own eyes the horrifying process of a human turning into a black-skinned monster.]

[You teased their reactions and casually remarked on the ”wisdom of mortals.”]

[Their gazes toward you became somewhat peculiar.]

[You drove them away and began your perverse experiment.]

[Through a series of unconventional methods, you recorded the Black Demon’s attribute data.]

[Black Demon: A humanoid creature formed by mutation from the Red Rain virus. Complete transformation takes approximately one month. In its initial stage, its strength is nearly double that of an ordinary person, its agility is slightly faster, and its intelligence is comparable to a four-year-old child’s. It knows to seek advantages and avoid harm.]

[After you finished recording the information, you glanced back at the trembling Black Demon hiding in the corner, then left with a sinister smile.]

[Two days later, Black Demon samples Number Two and Number Three arrived, and you began your perverse experiment again.]

[Your mood soured when you discovered that not all Black Demons possessed intelligence. It was obvious that Number Two and Number Three were mindless, but their strength and agility were higher, faster, and stronger than Number One’s.]

[You dismembered them and began to spread information about the Black Demon throughout the settlement.]

[The people were in an uproar. Compared to their fear of the Black Demon, they were more in awe of you, the one who could dismantle monsters into pieces.]

[Over the next month, the number of refugees fleeing to the cement plant gradually increased, which led to a series of incidents involving Black Demons injuring people.]

[According to the refugees, the passages from the Spring City Outer District to the inner city had been completely sealed. The entire outer district was in chaos, with harrowing screams echoing incessantly from morning to night.]

[As the settlement’s population grew, the probability of vicious incidents also gradually increased.]

[Your young strategist, Liu Yaofei, knew that if this continued, major problems were inevitable. Therefore, without your permission, he took out a book he had compiled long ago and began to circulate it.]

[From that day forward, in addition to their daily labor, the residents of the settlement had a new cultural course: Gratitude to the Savior!]

[Liu Yaofei’s unauthorized actions made the settlement more stable.]

[Of course, you were completely unaware of this, because you had a new toy: Black Demon Number One!]

Chen Pingchuan rubbed his eyes, wondering if it was because he had worked all day without rest. Why can’t I understand the simulation text anymore? How have I, an upstanding young man who likes women, become so hopelessly hooked on a game of raising monsters from another world?

”No, this won’t do. I have to find a foot massage parlor tomorrow and really unwind,” he muttered, rubbing the stubble on his chin. It had only been a day, but Chen Pingchuan felt as if he had aged a decade. ”I’ll go tomorrow.”

[You discovered your unique talent: Beast Tamer. You successfully trained Black Demon Number One, and it could now understand your simple commands.]

[You found that the genetic potion also worked on Black Demons. With your feeding, Black Demon Number One not only progressed rapidly in strength, but its intelligence also began to increase.]

[You were reminded of the border collie you had adopted in your previous life. Aside from their appearances, you felt they were not that different.]

[One month later, Black Demon Number One was able to move independently within the cement plant without harming any humans.]

[The rumors about you in the settlement grew increasingly outrageous!]

[Some compared you to a prophet, others said you were the harbinger of the apocalypse, and others still called you the King of Black Magic. Of course, the largest group still called you their Savior.]

[As your fame spread throughout the cement plant, more and more women began to take an interest in you.]

[A group of women over fifty stormed your residence. However, you, focused on your cultivation, remained unmoved and instructed the guards to prevent any more such incidents.]

[As for the tender young maidens in the crowd, you guided them patiently. After several all-night talks, you finally persuaded them to live their lives properly.]

[Having experienced the life you once dreamed of, you discovered that compared to the dramas of romance, cultivation was far more interesting.]

[You no longer paid attention to the trivial matters of the cement plant. You handed ten vials of genetic potion to Guo Yihang and entered seclusion.]

[In nine months, you gained preliminary proficiency with nine different weapons and became a qualified Weapon Master. You could now confidently boast about being proficient in all eighteen traditional types of weaponry.]

[Of course, your gains during these nine months weren’t limited to this. You also chugged more than ten vials of the genetic potion snatched from Wang Mazi’s Second-hand Shop, only stopping this shameful extravagance when your body finally developed a resistance to the drug.]

[You realized that only higher-level enhancement potions could provide you with physical enhancement, which you found troubling.]

Do higher-level genetic enhancement potions even exist? And if they do, how could I get my hands on them?

Even Chen Pingchuan, outside the simulator, could feel how tricky this was.

[You fed all the remaining genetic enhancement potions to Black Demon Number One, hoping it could give you some ideas.]

[The result was self-evident. After consuming so many genetic potions, you couldn’t tell if Black Demon Number One’s brain had grown, but a tail had genuinely sprouted.]

[You were filled with hope, only to end up disappointed. You suspected its awakened talent was just wagging its tail to beg for scraps and lazing about.]

[You attempted to replace its designation with the more elegant name ’Wangcai’, but you failed. When you called for ’Wangcai’, it remained as motionless as a dead dog. But when you called for ’Number One’, it would perk up its ears and listen to your command.]

[In a foul mood, you decided to put Black Demon Number One through some intense training to mask your shame and anger.]

[Ultimately, it was a pet you had raised for several months. Considering yourself a kind-hearted person, you couldn’t bear to abuse it.]

[So, with your frustrations unmet, you found a new outlet: focusing all your energy on its combat abilities.]

[You were no longer satisfied with low-level commands like ’sit’, ’lie down’, or ’stand up’, as these could no longer fulfill your perverse requirements.]

[You began training it how to evade attacks, how to observe human movements, and how to judge whether an opponent posed a threat.]

[Your attacks landed on Black Demon Number One with crisp smacking sounds, causing it to howl in agony.]

[The last trace of wildness in Black Demon Number One’s eyes completely vanished.]

[It accepted you from the bottom of its heart. Master!]
