Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 34: Major General Hu! Three Punches to Shatter Your Saintly Dreams
When he saw this simulated message, Chen Pingchuan felt a chill run down his spine, and even the hair on his arms stood on end. He couldn’t help but picture a creepy uncle playing hide-and-seek with a little girl.

An old pervert, huh?!

He didn’t need to read any further. Anyone who would say such a thing had to be a seventy or eighty-year-old creep.

Just end it all!

At this moment, Chen Pingchuan didn’t want to continue the simulation for another second. He hadn’t seen any sign of potential rewards yet, not to mention the fact that he was stuck with the idiotic God of Misfortune’s Possession talent.

These simulation points are probably going down the drain, he grumbled to himself before helplessly continuing the simulation.

[You followed the sound and looked over. Sure enough, the door to the outside passage was violently thrown open.]

[Instead of attacking the visitor directly, you had already extinguished the candle and hidden in the darkness.]

[The basement fell into an eerie silence.]

[Ten minutes later, you could clearly see the visitor’s appearance by the light from outside.]

[Contrary to what you had imagined, the visitor was a young woman in her twenties.]

[Her features were quite distinctive: an oval face, willow-leaf eyebrows, a petite nose, and full, soft lips. A tight black bodysuit accentuated her perfect curves, her allure mixed with a hint of rebelliousness and wildness.]

[What others might see as distinctive was insignificant to you. You were more focused on her other features, like her cat ears, small canines, and the mischievous and cunning look in her cat-like eyes. It was obvious she was from the Blood Beast Ban.]

[The moment Catwoman landed lightly, you launched a fierce attack. For you, there was no such thing as showing mercy to a beautiful woman; you only wanted to suppress her forcefully before discussing anything else.]

[Catwoman gracefully evaded all your attacks and explained her reason for coming.]

[She said that although she was from the Blood Beast Ban, she was different from the others. She was here to help you. Your location had been exposed, and you needed to leave with her quickly. Otherwise, once Major General Hu arrived, it would be too late for anything.]

[You didn’t believe her story, remarking that a name like Major General Hu, which screamed ’loser’, was too embarrassing to even say out loud.]

[Catwoman was taken aback by your arrogance and dominance. She declared you were incredibly manly and said she wanted to sleep with you.]

[You declined her proposal, stating that you were not that kind of casual god.]

[The look in Catwoman’s eyes changed slightly.]

Don’t tell me she’s actually attracted to him? Chen Pingchuan thought, incredulous. Would any girl really fall for such moronic lines?

His inner gossip flared to life, and he suddenly missed Xia Qingxue. He decided he would go see her tomorrow—no, he would go tonight, right after this simulation.

And with that, it’s happily decided, he thought, his mood instantly improving.

[Sensing the change in her attitude, you ceased your attacks. You asked Catwoman for more details about the Blood Beast Ban.]

[You learned from her that although the Blood Beast Ban organization acted domineeringly, it was an organization filled with love and tolerance, unlike the New Sequence Group.]

[The New Sequence Group’s philosophy was to extract the genes of various organisms to repair human genetic defects and trigger mutations. It was an extremely tyrannical path. They slaughtered animals to extract genetic sequences, destroyed the ecological balance, and were inhumane villains.]

[In contrast, the Blood Beast Ban advocated for love and nature, for the harmonious coexistence of humans and animals. Although they also extracted animal genes, they treated the animals like family. These animal companions that grew alongside them were called pet beasts.]

[Catwoman told you a lot about the people called Beast Tamers, as well as the pros and cons of their advancement.]

[The advancement of a Beast Tamer is a two-way street. The human first integrates beast genes, continuously consuming genetic fusion agents. Once they reach the peak of their current physical state, they inject their own genes back into their pet beast to promote its growth. When the pet beast reaches its limit, the cycle repeats.]

[The advantage is obvious: as their name implies, every Beast Tamer’s strength is doubled because they are not fighting alone. The disadvantage is also clear: due to the frequent injections of Genetic Modifiers, their personalities will gradually shift towards the wild nature of their chosen pet beast.]

[After Catwoman finished speaking, she took elegant, mincing steps toward you, walking a perfect straight line. Wicked thoughts began to surface in your mind. You thought that if she could pull off those high-difficulty moves, agreeing to her proposal might not be out of the question.]

[However, your wicked thoughts were interrupted by an uninvited guest just as they arose.]

[Seeing the newcomer’s appearance, you instantly knew his identity. With his overtly tiger-like features, there was no need to guess. This was the Major General Hu that Catwoman had mentioned.]

HISS...

That’s one badass name, Chen Pingchuan thought. It instantly reminded him of a game from his past life. Back then, he had been young and full of vigor, a master strategist with fiery words. A mere little Tiger Vanguard? Watch as this Great Sage puts you in your place! he had thought.

Three minutes later, three punches shattered his Great Sage dream.

A day later, he screamed, ”What is this trash game?! I’m done with it!”

The painful memory resurfaced, and Chen Pingchuan murmured, I bet this guy likes tomato juice, too.

[Facing the ferocious-looking Major General Hu, you spouted bravado, warning him to surrender immediately or face the consequences.]

[True to the principle of a man of few words and brutal action, Major General Hu instantly transformed into a bloodthirsty tiger and mercilessly attacked you.]

[The results proved your confidence was misplaced. You weren’t nearly as incredible as you boasted. After just a few rounds, a slip-up on his part was enough to finish you off. Everything went black!]

[You died!]

[This simulation has ended!]

[You may select a reward by spending simulation points.]

[Reward Offered: God of Misfortune’s Possession (Talent)]

[God of Misfortune’s Possession]: Blue Special Negative Talent. Exchanging this talent grants 10,000 simulation points.

[Body State Inheritance]: Consumes 100 simulation points. Inherit the strongest human physical state achieved during the simulation.

Holy hell. I’m utterly speechless.

Instead of costing points, choosing this talent gives me ten thousand of them? A top-tier Purple talent only costs 1,000 points. What the hell is this crappy talent?

Chen Pingchuan stroked his stubble, his mind racing.

If I choose this talent, I’ll get an extra 10,000 simulation points out of nowhere. If I convert that to simulation attempts, that’s 1,000 tries! With a thousand simulations, what kind of talent couldn’t I get? So what if it’s a little bad luck? So what if there’s a Major General Hu? So what if...

I choose... not to choose anything at all!

Are you kidding me? Am I, Chen Pingchuan, the type of person to bend over for a few lousy simulation points?

Of course, he would never admit that he was genuinely scared by this God of Misfortune. This wave after wave of attacks had truly run his simulated self ragged, leaving even a Purple talent like Parasite completely useless.

Just as Chen Pingchuan gave up on selecting a reward, an unexpected notification suddenly sounded.

BEEP!
