Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 39: Abstraction! Mad Scientist
[You eagerly entered Xia Qingxue’s boudoir, intending to show off your skills. In your heart, you’ve rehearsed this countless times.]

[Half an hour later, you were on the verge of tears, realizing that the consequences of a declining Spirit attribute were far greater than you had imagined.]

[You made several suggestive hints to Xia Qingxue, trying to rejuvenate your vigor through these unorthodox means, but you failed again.]

[You finally accepted the harsh reality and stated that you would work hard to exercise in the coming days, hoping to return to your best condition soon. Xia Qingxue looked at you with a trace of pity in her eyes.]

[You felt an indescribable sense of humiliation and used your identification skill on Xia Qingxue. The result left you shocked, with the content as follows.]

[Xia Qingxue: Young Princess of the Mechanical Fortress, Celestial Palace One. Character card level is purple. Personality is innocent and gentle, yearns for love. Current status: deeply in love. Other information is temporarily unavailable. Please strive to improve your strength, Host.]

As expected, Xia Qingxue’s background isn’t simple. This purple character card makes her even more difficult to handle than I anticipated.

Chen Pingchuan frowned. It was yet another unheard-of faction. He couldn’t understand why this world was so complex. On the surface, the entire planet belonged to the Great Ming Empire, yet it was subdivided into a massive number of regions controlled by various factions. What was even more absurd was that the relationships between these factions were incredibly intricate. Chen Pingchuan could only describe the feeling with a single word: bizarre.

Forget it. I won’t overthink it since it doesn’t concern me. I just need to take care of the people around me and slowly get stronger.

[In the following days, you settled Black Demon No. 1 into your new home and performed an item identification on the mysterious black stone. The results are as follows.]

[Mysterious Black Stone: An energy source that can promote the evolution of a Black Demon. The side effect of excessive consumption is that the creature will mutate into a monster driven only by bloodlust and slaughter. Note: Consuming it once a week can slow the rate of mutation.]

Huh? Did my simulated self get smarter?

Chen Pingchuan noticed that his simulated self seemed more lively, not as stiff and arbitrary as before. His actions were beginning to align more with his own personality.

Perhaps it’s due to the system upgrade. It seems to have filled in the personality flaws of this emotionally deficient version of me.

Chen Pingchuan still had his doubts, but there was no definitive answer. The simulator didn’t communicate; it was like a fixed program. He decided not to dwell on it and refocused his attention on the simulation.

[You decide to cultivate your precious baby according to the information from the identification.]

[After settling in, you didn’t choose to immediately begin exercising to recover your strength. Instead, you took Black Demon No. 1 to the Purple Bird Gang’s base and successfully parasitized the gang leader.]

[This time, you chose a purple parasitic seed. Although it felt wasteful, a voice in your head insisted that you needed to do it.]

[Furthermore, the voice told you that you could not use ordinary parasitic seeds on other creatures.]

[Left with no other choice and sticking to the principle of not being wasteful, you could only implant these seeds into the plants around the courtyard.]

[Influenced by the parasitized plants, you received a positive emotional boost, growing more sunny, handsome, and cheerful each day, filled with a craving for nourishment and growth.]

[Half a month later, under the cover of the Purple Bird Gang’s leader, the first phase of your Doomsday Bunker was completed on schedule and without attracting the attention of other factions.]

Success! Chen Pingchuan exhaled softly. It’s just as I thought. As long as I maintain a strong obsession, my simulated self will be influenced by my current state.

This time, he was determined to lie low and stop messing around so recklessly. After all, he not only needed to improve his strength but also find solutions for his situation. He was quite satisfied with his new girlfriend. Although her background was a bit complex and brought some trouble, he was confident that he could resolve everything perfectly. This was the confidence of a man with cheat abilities.

[With some of your strength recovered, you once again found Xia Qingxue and declared that you had regained your fighting strength.]

[Over the next month, your relationship with Xia Qingxue improved rapidly, and you began to gently probe her for information.]

[Under your gentle offensive, Xia Qingxue finally relented.]

[She stated that she could stay with you for another half a year at most, after which she would have to leave.]

[She left you an identity certificate for the City of No Night and an admission notice for the Genetic University within the city, telling you to just live peacefully after she was gone.]

[She said she had already investigated Huang Yujia’s background and confirmed her good character, hinting that you could take her for yourself.]

[You felt somewhat embarrassed and insisted you would never let her go, vowing to protect her for a lifetime.]

[Xia Qingxue was moved by your sincerity but held her ground. She said that if she didn’t return by the agreed-upon time, something truly terrifying would happen—an outcome she desperately wanted to avoid.]

[You verbally expressed your understanding, but in your heart, you were making other plans.]

[For the next six months, you trained your body like a madman, hoping for a swift recovery, while also beginning your peculiar experiments.]

[During this period, you spent a full month renovating the secret chamber beneath the cement plant, transforming it from a simple shelter into a passable laboratory.]

[The research materials remained obscure and incomprehensible. After a month of fruitless effort, you decisively gave up.]

[This time, you no longer followed standard procedures. Instead, you began to research and create potions based purely on your intuition.]

[You initiated your mad experiment, mixing various components into the potions, including the mysterious black stone, blood from Black Demon No. 1, and powders from parasitic seeds of different grades.]

[As expected, you succeeded.]

[You transformed the Satiation Potion, Anti-Aging Beauty Potion, and Emotion-Infection Potion into the Jet Fighter Potion, Servant Potion, and Mindless Potion, respectively.]

[You performed an identification on the new products, and the effects were as follows.]

[Jet Fighter Potion: True to its name, half an hour after consumption, the body loses all control over the intestines and anus, transforming into a foul-smelling jet fighter that sprays wherever it goes, spreading its stench everywhere.]

[Servant Potion: With the addition of parasitic seed powder, this potion has the ability to bewitch the mind and compel behavior. The effect is time-dependent. After one continuous month of consumption, the drinker will develop a fondness for the seed host. After one continuous year, the drinker will regard the seed host as a family member. After ten continuous years, the drinker will be transformed into the seed host’s slave.]

Chen Pingchuan stared at the descriptions of the two potions, a tingling sensation crawling up his scalp. He was realizing he truly had the potential of a mad scientist, especially given the effects of the last potion.
