Chapter 468: Chapter 259: Lonely City... It has no light!Murder...

Murder?

Remedios’s heart suddenly surged with a sense of panic.

She was just an ordinary student, even though she had encountered such a catastrophe, she was still an ordinary student.

She had thought that Rift would take care of everything for her, but when Rift actually made his move, she realized that wasn’t the case.

She glanced at Rift, whose eyes behind the mask remained calm, devoid of emotion and without any plea for leniency.

He truly wanted her to kill her own enemy, and he truly would not kill the enemy for her.

Remedios read this message in his gaze.

”Remedios, I was wrong... I know I was wrong, and I’m sorry for the death of your parents, it was just an accident.” The girl tied up in the chair also looked at Remedios, who had taken the gun, with fear, trying to keep her voice steady and not provoke Remedios, saying in a tone of rational analysis, ”There’s no need for this, if I die, someone will definitely investigate you, and if you bear the burden of a life, your whole life will be ruined, it’s really not necessary. I promise, I can compensate you, you can live comfortably for the rest of your life...”

”My life is already ruined!” Remedios suddenly yelled, interrupting the girl, tears welling up in her eyes, ”My parents are dead, I used to have a happy family, but you!”

She glared venomously at the girl, ”All because you chased thrills, all because you engaged in illegal street racing in the city, they’ve all left me!”

Remedios’s hands trembled as she slowly raised the gun. For a girl not yet eighteen, the weight of the firearm seemed to be more than her hands could bear.

But still, using the sight of the gun, she aimed at the girl.

When the dark muzzle of the gun faced her, the girl also felt a profound fear, the first time such an unexpected event had occurred in her life.

Even when she had accidentally killed those parents in the car crash, she didn’t feel such fear, because she knew her father could handle everything for her, her father would never allow such a stain in his political career.

”Don’t! Think about yourself, if you really kill me, you won’t be able to get away with it, everything is negotiable!” The girl’s voice also rose, her eyes filled with fear.

”Bang—” The gun eventually fired, the muzzle flashed with fire, the dark bullet shot from the barrel and entered the girl’s abdomen, creating a hole on impact, blood reddening the girl’s clothes.

”Ah—” She screamed in agony, the intense pain contorting her face. She wanted to cover the wound with her hands, but they were tied to the chair, so she could only twist helplessly in her seat.

Remedios felt her heart beating violently, her finger still on the trigger of the gun, but the gun had only one bullet, no more shots were fired. She looked at the girl who was nearly fainting in the chair and at the bloody sight of her abdomen, feeling nauseous and almost vomiting, having to focus intently to keep it down.

”She’s not completely dead yet,” Rift shook his head, looking at the one bullet gun in the girl’s hand, frowning slightly.

It was his first time doing this, and he noticed some flaws.

Using a gun for revenge didn’t seem to achieve the result he wanted; the kill efficiency of firearms was too high, and he couldn’t see the determination for revenge in the avenger.

So he decided that in the future, he would only give a knife, to let the person seek revenge by their own hand.

And now...

Perhaps this would work too?

He then drew a sharp short knife from his waist and placed it in front of Remedios. His steady voice betraying no extra meaning, ”Go kill her, if she’s not killed by your intent to kill, I won’t help you dispose of the body.”

He glanced at the time, coldly saying, ”You have five minutes to decide.”

To him, killing a helpless girl was easy. If he wished, he had a hundred ways to make the arrogant heiress disappear, but he would not do it himself.

As he just said, what he needed to feel was Remedios’s intent to kill, not to take revenge for her, but for her to take revenge herself.

If it’s about revenge, then one must personally bear something, putting everything on others, first on the law, then on him, that is the original misfortune of the unfortunate.

Without a change in mentality, his help wouldn’t change anything.

They needed to embrace their primal instincts.

Remedios took the knife, standing still, seemingly lost in thought.

Rift didn’t rush her, but stood by her side, pocketing the gun and inserting a full magazine into it.

”Tick-tock—”

Once again, the sound of a water drop broke the silence of the space, startling Remedios, who looked up at Rift again. After a moment’s hesitation, carrying the knife, she walked towards the girl lying in the bloodied chair.

Behind her, Rift silently watched everything unfold, but at this moment, if someone could remove his mask, they would see that Rift was gnashing his teeth tightly, his lips already bitten and torn, revealing a set of white teeth, presenting a bizarre sight.
