Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Nine-tailed Fox Breathing Technique

In just a short time, Frost Wolf Ridge had taken over Silver Fox Town.

This was partly because the Silver Fox Clan was completely unprepared for the attack.

Of course, the most important factor was the difference in strength between the two.

With an Earth Knight leading the way, along with the Frost Wolf Knight Order and Gray Wolf Pack, they utterly crushed a baron’s territory.

Of course, David had also come well-prepared this time.

The Silver Fox Clan was known for being extremely wealthy due to their expertise in commerce.

Now that the Silver Fox Clan had voluntarily presented their necks, it would be a shame for him not to accept.

After assigning the task of taking over Silver Fox Town to the territorial officials from Frost Wolf Ridge, David went directly to the castle to inspect the loot.

When he used the key he found on Baron Silver Fox to open the treasury, David was momentarily dazzled.

The Silver Fox Clan was indeed very rich.

However, now all their wealth was in the hands of Frost Wolf Ridge.

Besides the gold coins, the treasury also contained some materials for configuring secret medicine.

David immediately spotted the high-quality Wolf Blood Grass needed for making the Tier Four Frost Wolf Secret Medicine and snorted coldly; Baron Silver Fox’s death was certainly not undeserved.

While the territorial officials were directed to inventory the gold coins and materials, David headed toward Baron Silver Fox’s bedroom and study.

Baron Silver Fox’s study contained many antique paintings, which David gladly accepted; unfortunately, he found no secret rooms there.

”Is this... an account book?”

David did find a hidden compartment, which contained many pieces of parchment.

He took out a roll to check it and discovered it was the Silver Fox Clan’s trade ledger.

This was a valuable find, as with this trade ledger, he could trace the Silver Fox Clan’s trade routes.

Additionally, he also found records of the Ice Bear Clan in it, confirming the connection between the Silver Fox Clan and the Ice Bear Clan.

”These other clans can also be accounted for,” David said as he put away the account book.

As he examined each account book, at the bottom of the hidden compartment, he unexpectedly found an old-looking breathing technique.

Nine-tailed Fox Breathing Technique.

Seeing the name of the breathing technique, David paused.

He had originally thought it would be the Silver Fox Breathing Technique of the Silver Fox Clan, but it turned out to be another breathing technique of the Fox Race.

The Nine-tailed Fox was a legendary powerful demon.

They were said to have nine long tails and extraordinary wisdom, believed to be messengers between the Spirit Realm and Human Realm, capable of traversing both worlds.

According to legend, the Nine-tailed Fox had powerful magic abilities and a transformation technique, turning into beautiful and enchanting women at night to lure humans to pursue them.

Many brave yet foolish adventurers were ensnared by the Nine-tailed Fox, ultimately losing their souls.

However, not everyone who encountered the Nine-tailed Fox would be cursed or suffer misfortune.

There were also stories in legends about establishing friendly relations or coexisting with the Nine-tailed Fox.

These fortunate ones often received precious gifts from the Nine-tailed Fox or gained knowledge and power needed to fight against Dark Forces.

All this information came from a book about demons within the Frost Wolf Clan.

David had not expected to find a breathing technique related to the legendary Nine-tailed Fox within the Silver Fox Clan.

”Perhaps the Silver Fox Breathing Technique of the Silver Fox Clan was derived from the Nine-tailed Fox Breathing Technique,” David mused, his eyes narrowing slightly.

The Little Fox Girl also possessed the fox bloodline, but it was uncertain whether she could cultivate the Silver Fox Breathing Technique or the Nine-tailed Fox Breathing Technique.

Especially the latter.

The prestige of the Nine-tailed Fox was even higher than that of the Frost Giant Wolf.

After putting away the Nine-tailed Fox Breathing Technique, David then went to the bedroom.

In the bedroom, he found a secret chamber entrance beneath Baron Silver Fox’s bed.

However, the secret chamber was filled entirely with silver coins, indicating that Baron Silver Fox had a special fondness for silver coins, even sleeping on them.

In the time that followed, David conducted a trial of the Silver Fox Clan’s crimes in the town square.

Aside from other crimes, just the act of betraying the Frost Wolf Clan was enough for the Frost Wolf Clan to wipe out the Silver Fox Clan!

Moreover, the Silver Fox Clan had the audacity to secretly collude with other clans to cut off Frost Wolf Ridge’s trade routes and clandestinely hoarded materials for configuring Frost Wolf Secret Medicine, all heinous crimes against the Frost Wolf Clan.

Shortly after David completed the trial of the Silver Fox Clan, the news spread to other territories.

The lords who had already paid taxes and re-sworn allegiance discreetly wiped away a cold sweat, as none had expected the Duke Frost Wolf to act so swiftly, leaving no room for the Silver Fox Clan.

The clans that were still watching like the Silver Fox Clan could no longer sit still.

The attitude of the Duke Frost Wolf was now abundantly clear: he had no intention of giving them any time to wait and see.

Even if the Ice Bear Clan was indeed going to make a move against Frost Wolf Ridge, a distant prospect would not quench an immediate thirst; continuing to wait would likely end with them sharing the Silver Fox Clan’s fate!

The Duke Frost Wolf truly did not play by the usual rules.

The Silver Fox Clan had merely failed to present taxes within three days, and the Duke Frost Wolf offered no opportunity for explanation, directly exterminating the Silver Fox Clan.

Although they all knew they had indeed betrayed the Frost Wolf Clan first.

But it was due to the circumstances, seeking the shelter of a large tree; if the Frost Wolf Clan hadn’t fallen, they wouldn’t have left the Frost Wolf Clan!

Now, however, this had become their death warrant.

No one had anticipated that the Frost Wolf Clan would have a day of resurgence.

Earth Knights were scarce throughout the Northern Territory, and the Duke Frost Wolf, at such a young age, had already become an Earth Knight!

If the Duke Frost Wolf intended to settle scores, none could escape the crime of betraying the Frost Wolf Clan.

At this moment, all the feudal nobles who had left the Frost Wolf Clan were terrified.

Subsequently, these clans immediately brought their taxes to Frost Wolf Ridge, and the amount far exceeded the tax set by Frost Wolf Ridge.

In addition to taxes, many rare treasures and materials for configuring secret medicine were brought, and some small nobles even brought beautiful young women from their families, intending to present them to the Duke Frost Wolf.

In any case, the situation needed to be stabilized first.

They believed the Ice Bear Clan was even more anxious than they were, and the chaotic war in the Northern Lands was about to begin.

Thus.

With David’s lightning-quick actions, he instantly intimidated everyone, and the Frost Wolf Clan quickly regained all the territories they had lost.

Of course, David did not choose to forgive all clans.

Those clans that simply left the Frost Wolf Clan to claim independence paid only a fine, while those that harmed the Frost Wolf Clan all became sepia in history!
