Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: News of the Witch

”The most important thing right now is still to enhance one’s strength.”

”But the Frost Wolf Bloodline needs 5000 experience points to advance from Tier Three to Tier Four!”

David squinted at the experience bar on the Attribute Panel.

Clearly, Tier Three and Tier Four are entirely different levels. Tier Three Magical Beasts are merely Low-tier, while Tier Four are Middle-tier.

This fact is also reflected in the bloodline strength. To upgrade the bloodline strength from Tier Three to Tier Four requires far more experience points than before!

Next, to increase the speed further, the quality and frequency of dual cultivation must also continue to improve.

Fortunately, Liya could also gain significant benefits from dual cultivation, and with the aid of the Frost Wolf Potion, the breakthrough to becoming an Official Knight shouldn’t be far off.

The following time, the two trained even more diligently.

Fortunately, the governance of the territory was handled by the retainers left behind by the Gray Wolf Knight and the Frost Wolf Clan.

Everyone knew that Duke Frost Wolf’s most important task now was to produce offspring, so no one came to disturb him and Liya.

However, from time to time, the Gray Wolf Knight would deliver sorted documents of Frost Wolf Ridge to the castle.

In the past, David devoted all his energy to cultivation and paid little attention to the territory’s documents.

It wasn’t until his father’s disappearance, the Northern Lands were divided by other nobles, and the Frost Wolf Clan faced a crisis, that he, having awakened his bloodline in vain, began to slightly understand the situation of the territory.

And now, whether it’s for his Knight Cultivation, which requires a large amount of resources, or the Golden Finger’s cultivation method requiring a stable environment, he must manage his territory well.

”Even the trade has been cut off?”

Seeing the fiscal information of the territory, David frowned deeply.

Although the Ice Bear Clan has not yet openly acted against the Frost Wolf Clan, their covert and overt tactics were clearly in place.

Without the support of trade, Frost Wolf Ridge would inevitably decline rapidly, and eventually, even without the Ice Bear Clan lifting a finger, the territory would not be able to sustain itself.

Moreover, the absence of trade meant the paths for acquiring cultivation resources would also be cut off, which was a significant hassle for David, eager to enhance his strength.

The Gray Wolf Knight’s expression was also very serious, ”Rest assured, Young Master David.”

”With the composting method you found in the ancient books, this year’s Frost Wolf Ridge has had a bountiful harvest, so getting through this winter won’t be difficult.”

Hearing this, David’s expression improved a little. He had already shared the composting method and some experiences from his past life with the Gray Wolf Knight.

Unfortunately, his mental reserve was limited to just that; he didn’t understand the methods of making firearms or machinery, and he lacked knowledge in civil engineering.

Fortunately, he now had a system Golden Finger.

Thinking of this, he glanced around and whispered, ”Uncle Leo, any news about the wizard I asked you to investigate?”

Upon hearing this, the Gray Wolf Knight shook his head.

After hesitating for a moment, he said, ”Young Master David, are you truly planning to seek the help of a wizard?”

David knew the concerns of the Gray Wolf Knight. Wizards are viewed by the Church as devil’s minions, and if the Church discovered that Frost Wolf Ridge was harboring a wizard, it would certainly face a trial from the Church.

”Frost Wolf Ridge can’t compete with the Ice Bear Clan right now.”

”Without the help of a wizard, the Frost Wolf Clan would eventually be destroyed.”

”Thus, we’d better take a chance. With a wizard’s help, we might stand a chance against the Ice Bear Clan and preserve ourselves.”

David’s expression was serious; this was indeed one of his purposes for seeking out a wizard.

And another reason was naturally to find a witch and see if dual cultivation with a witch might grant some special powers.

Although the Church had always propagated that wizards were devil’s minions,

the Frost Wolf Clan and other nobles knew this was just a Church excuse, aimed to hunt wizards and maintain their rule.

Therefore, what they really considered was the potential threat from the Church, rather than being genuinely concerned about the threat from the wizard themselves.

The Gray Wolf Knight knew this was indeed the only way for the Frost Wolf Clan to deal with the situation in the Northern Lands, and his expression turned solemn, ”I will send more people to look for signs of wizards.”

After the Gray Wolf Knight left, David returned to the back garden.

At this moment, Liya had just finished a session of training and was intensely focused on eating a cream pastry, her eyes squinting with pleasure.

For a knight, each training session requires consuming a lot of food to replenish the vital energy, which is why most territories can’t afford too many knights.

Seeing David approach, Liya stood up reactively, ran over with a blush, and said, ”Young Master David.”

”Why don’t you take a bath after training first, you might catch a cold.”

David noticed Liya’s training clothes sticking to her body from sweat and touched her gray long hair.

”I wanted to wait for you, young master.” Liya’s face showed a trace of unease.

”Then what are we waiting for.”

...

Life is so wonderful.

Unknowingly, another month passed.

David had stabilized his Tier Two Knight strength.

Liya, with the help of dual cultivation and potions, had also become a High-tier Knight’s Attendant and was preparing for official knight promotion.

With the Frost Wolf Bloodline, she could use it to condense a Life Seed, making the breakthrough to knight not too difficult; the most important thing next was accumulation.

As Frosty Winter drew nearer, news about the wizard finally came from the Gray Wolf Knight.

Just a day ago, a witch was discovered in Mountain Cat Town in the Northern Lands, set to be sent to the Holy Light Church in Ice City for trial the next day.

”Young Master David, are we really going to rescue this witch?”

The Gray Wolf Knight was a bit hesitant.

Baron Lynx is only a Tier One Knight, easy to deal with.

But if their actions were exposed, it would certainly lead to an investigation by the Church, and the risk was quite significant.

”Not we, just me.”

David smiled slightly, ”For this operation, I’ll go alone.”

Upon hearing this, the Gray Wolf Knight’s expression changed drastically, ”Young Master David, it’s too risky, let me rescue her instead.”

”Uncle Olay can rest assured.”

”I possess the Frost Giant Wolf Bloodline, along with the Frost Wolf Breathing Technique and the family sword skills, Baron Lynx is definitely not my match.”

A confident smile appeared on David’s face.

Now, he was a genuine Tier Two Knight; by activating bloodline power and sword skills, he could even contend with some weaker Tier Three Knights!
