Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Settling the Little Fox Girl

In a short period, Frost Wolf Ridge successfully took over Eagle Wing Castle.

After removing the Eagle Wing Clan and the loyal officials, David barely exerted any effort to gain the loyalty of the remaining knight’s attendants and officials.

Earth Knight.

Duke Frost Wolf is an Earth Knight!

Just the thought of it left them without any intention of resistance.

They could already imagine the resurgence of the Frost Wolf Clan!

Besides Eagle Wing Castle, reclaiming all lost territories by Frost Wolf Ridge was almost a certainty, and considering Duke Frost Wolf’s age and talent, retaking the entire Northern Lands wasn’t impossible either.

At such a time, it’s natural to choose a side early to gain an advantage in Frost Wolf Ridge’s upcoming expansion, securing more benefits.

Moreover, the commoners were very cooperative, showing that the Eagle Wing Clan was indeed unpopular, and Frost Wolf Ridge’s takeover of Eagle Wing Castle was a welcome change!

David spent nearly three days initially establishing rule over Eagle Wing Castle, and luckily, it was still Frosty Winter, so territorial matters were not overwhelming.

Once Frosty Winter is over, Frost Wolf Ridge will surely send more officials to further manage Eagle Wing Castle, turning it into a frontline fortress for Frost Wolf Ridge.

At this point, David was eager to return home, and after arranging everything, he left ten gray wolves there and headed back to Frost Wolf Ridge with the remaining gray wolf pack.

On the way there, the gray wolves carried ten knight’s attendants and two officials on their backs, but on the way back, they were loaded with a full supply of grain.

Eagle Wing Castle was indeed wealthy, especially with a small plain, resulting in abundant grain production. This grain was enough to resolve Frost Wolf Ridge’s food crisis, even accommodating twice as many refugees.

In addition, the gold coins from the Eagle Wing Clan’s treasury were also brought back by David, and once Frosty Winter ends, Frost Wolf Ridge can reopen trade.

After traversing mountains and waters, David returned to Frost Wolf Ridge in the evening. After handing everything over to the Gray Wolf Knight, he took the gray wolf pack and the little fox girl back to the castle, directly leading the gray wolves to the rear mountain of the castle.

Fortunately, the rear mountain of the castle is part of the Frost Wolf Forest, so housing about a hundred gray wolves wasn’t an issue. After observing them for some time, he had already confirmed the gray wolf pack’s loyalty, making it safe to settle them in the manor.

With the protection of the gray wolf pack, the castle’s defense was significantly enhanced.

Awoo—

At this moment, the Snow Wolf also sensed the master’s presence and came to greet him.

David stepped forward to stroke the Snow Wolf’s soft, snow-white fur, and the luster of its coat indicated that the Snow Wolf had been living well lately.

”Gray Wolf King, from now on, you will listen to the Snow Wolf, understood?” David conveyed his intentions using spiritual power through the Frost Wolf Mark.

Awoo—

The Gray Wolf King nodded, without resistance.

Though he was the leader of the Gray Wolf Race, he still felt the pressure of his bloodline in the presence of the low-tier demon Snow Wolf and willingly submitted.

”Cynthia, are you sure you don’t want to come back to the castle with me?” David asked.

Just moments ago, Cynthia expressed her desire to live in this rear mountain area. There’s a wooden house here that can serve as the little fox girl’s residence.

”Yes, I like it here.” Cynthia nodded earnestly.

However, she didn’t plan to live inside the castle, as her fox girl features were too conspicuous and being discovered would cause many troubles.

If she went to the castle, she’d always have to be cautious, and for her, the castle would become another cage. But living on the rear mountain, she felt she could live more freely.

Living freely.

This had been her goal since she emerged from her cage.

For the rest of her life, she would live for freedom, dispelling the darkness and embracing the light.

”Alright, as long as you’re happy.” David nodded.

The rear mountain was watched over by the gray wolf pack, making it impossible for ordinary people to approach.

The little fox girl would indeed enjoy more freedom living here and could also help watch over the gray wolf pack, preventing them from straying into Frost Wolf Ridge.

Subsequently, David led the little fox girl to the wooden house, which he had refurbished when he housed the Snow Wolf there, intending to use it occasionally. It turned out perfect for settling the little fox girl, with no further preparations needed.

”This is your new home,” David said with a smile.

Hearing this, the little fox girl was quite touched and nodded heavily.

After settling the little fox girl, David finally returned to the castle.

Seeing David return safely, Liya, Amy, and Reina all breathed a sigh of relief.

After a brief absence, everything felt fresh, and tonight was destined to be a sleepless night. He planned to make up for lost cultivation progress, and after a brief separation, they were very cooperative.

...

”Young Master David, may I assist you with your bath?”

”Sure, let’s cultivate while we bathe.”

...

A night of pleasure.

”Fire Dance, good morning.”

David opened the door to see Fire Dance standing behind it.

”Lord,” Fire Dance performed a curtsy.

Soon after, she blushed slightly and entered the room to tidy up the mess.

”Young Master David.”

Seeing David and the three ladies arrive at the dining table, Shuili bowed in greeting.

David’s gaze swept over the two sisters, and he smiled, nodding, and led Liya, Amy, and Reina to their seats.

Liya sat to his right, Amy to his left, and Reina to Liya’s side, all seated in the order they entered.

Originally, Reina sat alone at the other end of the table until their relationship changed, moving her to Liya’s side.

David took small sips of meat porridge, enjoying the rare, relaxed, and leisurely life.

His gaze swept over the three ladies, landing on the two sisters in maid outfits, busy and pleasing to the eye with one in red and one in blue.

After a delightful meal, he left the sisters to tidy up and took Liya, Amy, and Reina to the rear mountain, intending to introduce them to the newly arrived little fox girl.

At this moment, the little fox girl was eating the vegetable porridge she had cooked herself. Although it was a simple meal, she felt genuinely content, savoring the freedom.

Suddenly, her ears twitched.

With keen hearing, she detected someone approaching ahead of time.

Recognizing it was the lord, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
