Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Rescuing the Witch

”Uncle Olay, I’ll just sneak in to take a look.”

”If there’s no way to rescue the witch, I definitely won’t take any risks.”

David promised repeatedly and showed a bit of his strength, making the Gray Wolf Knight finally agree, though he still advised caution repeatedly.

”Uncle Olay, after I leave, you should make a high-profile appearance at Frost Wolf Ridge. No one will suspect there’s another Official Knight at Frost Wolf Ridge.”

The two of them briefly discussed some details, and the Gray Wolf Knight handed over the informant’s information in Mountain Cat Town to David, instructing him to contact other spies within the castle if necessary.

Although the Frost Wolf Clan had declined, they had still left many hidden means behind the scenes. The Frost Wolf Clan, which once ruled the Northern Lands, had spies in various places.

David noted these things down carefully and then went to the castle to ask Liya to cover for him, before quietly leaving Frost Wolf Ridge for Mountain Cat Town.

Mountain Cat Town wasn’t far from Frost Wolf Ridge. David rode a black horse and arrived at Mountain Cat Town by nightfall, secretly hiding in the woods.

Originally, the Mountain Cat Clan was one of the vassal clans of the Frost Wolf Clan.

However, with the rise of the Ice Bear Clan and the decline of the Frost Wolf Clan, they chose to betray the Frost Wolf Clan and became vassals of the Ice Bear Clan.

Therefore, this time, his purpose was not only to rescue the witch but also to kill Baron Lynx, eradicating this traitor and potential threat for the Frost Wolf Clan!

By midnight, he had secretly entered Mountain Cat Town.

Baron Lynx’s manor was easy to find. The dilapidated estate had no guards, so with his current strength, he easily slipped inside.

He then entered Baron Lynx’s bedroom.

However, at that very moment, Baron Lynx, lying in bed, suddenly opened his eyes.

”Who’s there?”

Baron Lynx quickly got up and picked up the Knight’s Sword beside the bed.

David didn’t intend to answer any questions. His figure flickered, releasing the Tier Two speed entirely, gathering the Frost Wolf bloodline power in his sword and striking directly!

Clang—

The swords clashed together.

In the next moment, Baron Lynx felt a massive force overwhelm him, sending him flying!

His eyes revealed a look of shock and disbelief as he stared at David, his voice trembling, ”A Tier Two Knight!”

He never expected to encounter a Tier Two Knight in such a remote place like Mountain Cat Town, and that knight had come to assassinate him!

”Die!”

David struck again.

Baron Lynx, now gravely injured, was utterly incapable of any resistance.

He could only watch as the opponent’s Knight’s Sword sliced across his neck, his consciousness descending into darkness.

”Even simpler than I thought,” David remarked after swiftly killing Baron Lynx with a single blow, his expression calm.

It wasn’t his first kill, but it was the first Official Knight he had ever taken down.

He then began to search Baron Lynx’s bedroom.

Currently, Frost Wolf Ridge was impoverished and lacking funds.

Though Baron Lynx wasn’t particularly strong, as an Official Knight and a lord of a territory, he surely had some wealth.

After ransacking the bedroom, he indeed found a treasure chest, with roughly a hundred gold coins, which was a considerable fortune.

After pocketing all the gold coins into his backpack at his waist, David searched the study and other places.

Once he had thoroughly collected everything from the castle, he set fire to Baron Lynx’s bedroom with his corpse inside and quickly left the castle.

Flames shot up into the sky behind him.

Some knights discovered the fire and were shouting as they rushed towards the castle.

David took the opportunity to head towards the dungeon where the witch was supposedly imprisoned.

Mountain Cat Town had only one dungeon, comprised of four levels, with walls built from sturdy granite, and the witch was kept on the lowest level.

Wearing a mask, David stayed concealed outside the dungeon, waiting until the prison guards changed shifts, then slipped inside with a flash.

He then pulled out a dagger and slit a guard’s throat, dragging the body into a corner, before making his way down to the lowest level of the dungeon.

The Frost Giant Wolf Bloodline bestowed him with strong night vision like the Wolf Race. Even in the dark of the dungeon, everything was clearly visible to him.

With the power of a Tier Two Knight, his speed was unmatched by these ordinary prison guards, and he eliminated all the guards along the way until he finally reached the fourth level of the dungeon, where there was only one cell.

Inside, the Ice Witch from the intelligence reports was bound to a cross.

It was now late autumn, and the dungeon was so cold that one could see their breath, yet the witch wore only a thin garment.

Most telling of her identity as the Ice Witch was that she showed no sign of feeling any cold in this frigid environment.

The sudden appearance caused the Ice Witch to raise her head, her eyes a serene blue, calm like the sky before a storm.

David met her gaze and, without any unnecessary words, drew the Knight’s Sword from his waist and slashed through the cage’s shackles.

At that moment, a spark of life appeared in the Ice Witch’s eyes as she watched the masked knight walk forward and cut the bonds holding her on the cross, his voice deep, ”I’m here to rescue you.”

Everything was simpler than David had anticipated, thanks mostly to his strength. Even the high-tier Knight’s Attendants were caught off guard and slain before they could react!
