Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: The Benevolent Lord

It was a whole half day.

David finally arranged everything in the refugee gathering area.

These refugees became quite orderly once they had a place to stay and food.

After all, they had experienced too much expulsion and hunting, and now that they finally encountered a benevolent lord, no one wanted to lose their home and food.

In just a short time, David won the goodwill of all the refugees.

The name of the benevolent lord spread throughout the camp.

If anyone dared to cause trouble, hundreds of refugees would definitely rise up against them.

Therefore, not only the militia composed of refugees but ordinary refugees also monitored the people around, causing those wandering knights and mercenaries to feel somewhat uneasy.

They originally intended to gather the refugees at Frost Wolf Ridge, then incite them to attack Frost Wolf Ridge, and amidst the chaos, complete the assassination, but things turned out completely different.

Under the current situation, they simply couldn’t infiltrate Frost Wolf Ridge during the chaos, and it was even difficult to leave the refugee gathering area.

Thinking of this, the mercenaries exchanged glances and planned to take action ahead of time.

This time, Duke Frost Wolf unexpectedly came to the wilderness with the Knight Order; if they could assassinate Duke Frost Wolf here, they could complete the task early.

David was well aware of this.

Instead, he even anticipated those wandering knights and mercenaries would take action sooner.

If those mercenaries dared to act, he wouldn’t hold back and would absolutely eradicate them completely.

”Hope you don’t disappoint me.”

After arranging the refugee gathering area, he and Gray Wolf Knight left with ten knight attendants.

”Young Master David, please be careful next.” Gray Wolf Knight said gravely.

He already knew that Young Master David had successfully broken through to become a Tier Two Knight not long ago, and during the rescue of the witch, he already showed impressive strength.

But to use himself as bait to lure out the wandering knights and mercenaries was still a very risky move.

”Don’t worry.”

”Unless a Tier Four Earth Knight personally comes to kill me, there won’t be any danger.”

David showed a confident smile.

What he didn’t say was that even if a Tier Four Earth Knight did come, he wouldn’t be without a chance to fight.

Of course, this would be too shocking for Gray Wolf Knight, and he himself didn’t want too many people to know his true combat power.

When one moves, it affects everything.

Just after David left, some wandering knights and mercenaries quietly departed from the refugee gathering area.

”They’ve started taking action.” Princess Jingge showed a worried expression.

Throughout their journey, she had long noticed that wandering knights were quietly assembling, not expecting that their target was Duke Frost Wolf.

Princess Jingge said gravely, ”Romance, find a way to intercept these wandering knights.”

Roman Knight hesitated and directly refused, ”Princess, doing this is too dangerous. If I make a move, it might expose our whereabouts.”

”Moreover, this Duke Frost Wolf is not trustworthy. If he can’t even deal with these wandering knights and mercenaries, we might need to consider leaving here.”

Princess Jingge shook her head and said, ”I don’t think Frost Wolf Lord would overlook this point.”

She spoke with certainty.

After all, the series of moves to settle the refugees at Frost Wolf Ridge were enough for her to see the Frost Wolf Lord’s strategy.

She could confidently assert that Duke Frost Wolf’s visit was intentionally to lure out those wandering knights and mercenaries.

Under these circumstances, the wandering knights and mercenaries only had two choices: either wait in the camp for Duke Frost Wolf to haul them out one by one or take the risk to assassinate.

From the moment Duke Frost Wolf arrived here, the fate of those wandering knights and mercenaries was no longer under their control.

Thinking of this, even Princess Jingge couldn’t help but gasp, feeling somewhat helpless.

Not only those wandering knights and mercenaries but even herself had long fallen into the trap set by Duke Frost Wolf, making it no longer easy to leave.

In this situation, she could only think of ways to do something to prove she was different from those wandering knights and mercenaries.

And helping Duke Frost Wolf kill those wandering knights and mercenaries with ulterior motives was the only thing they could do now.

”I understand.”

After listening to the princess’s analysis, Roman Knight was equally shaken.

And he had no doubt about the princess’s words, as Princess Jingge had been intelligent since childhood.

If it weren’t for Duke of Ice Crown suddenly taking action, Princess Jingge would undoubtedly become the new Ice Queen of Jingge Kingdom!

...

David and Gray Wolf Knight were riding toward the town of Frost Wolf Ridge.

But as they were about to approach Frost Wolf Ridge, both of their hearts skipped a beat and suddenly halted.

This road is near Frost Wolf Forest, and if the mercenaries want to ambush, they can only choose this place.

”Come out.”

Gray Wolf Knight stepped forward and spoke softly.

Seeing no one coming out, he sneered, took the bow from his horse, drew it, and shot directly!

Whizz—

A whistling sound rang out, and the arrow shot straight into the forest!

The next moment, there was a commotion from the forest, and then more than a dozen people emerged.

All these mercenaries were dressed as adventurers, marked with the symbol of Blood Moon, shockingly the famous Blood Moon Mercenary Corps from the Northern Lands.

Seeing it was them, Gray Wolf Knight’s face became solemn; the leader of Blood Moon Mercenary Corps was a Tier Three Knight, and this time he personally took action!

”Didn’t expect it to be you.” Gray Wolf Knight said in a deep voice.

The leader of Blood Moon Mercenary Corps didn’t waste words, leading his mercenaries to charge directly.

Among them, the Blood Moon Leader went to block Gray Wolf Knight, while the others all rushed towards David.

Although Blood Moon Leader knew he was no match for Gray Wolf Knight, as long as he stopped Gray Wolf Knight, two official knights could easily kill Duke Frost Wolf!

”Protect the Lord!”

The ten knight attendants hurriedly blocked in front of David.

All of these were trained from childhood by the Frost Wolf Clan. Even knowing they were outmatched, they would not retreat.

But just as the ten knight attendants drew their swords, a figure swiftly surpassed them, flashing to the front of an official knight.

David held his Knight’s Sword, delivering a simple strike!

Yet even so, the power of his Tier Three Knight erupted, the sword light flashed, and a head flew.

Blood splattered, staining everyone’s eyes red.

At that moment, the scene suddenly fell silent, those mercenaries rushing forward all looked incredulously at the sight before them.

The deputy leader of Blood Moon Mercenary Corps, who was at the official knight level, was directly killed by Duke Frost Wolf with one strike, without any ability to resist!
