Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Calamity of Refugees

”Uncle, please keep this in mind for me.”

David agreed, he didn’t object to it.

Now, he still wasn’t sure what the exact effect of his Golden Finger was.

If it really could unconditionally bind multiple targets, and as long as he engaged in dual cultivation to increase his bloodline’s strength, then he would need to find more wives.

Of course, he couldn’t just accept any woman. The existence of the Golden Finger destined him to engage in dual cultivation with his wives. He needed his wives to be obedient and sensible. With a stable rear, he could cultivate and calmly face strong enemies.

”Alright.”

The Gray Wolf Knight nodded.

Now, although Young Master David had already awakened the Frost Wolf Bloodline, he still needed to have offspring as soon as possible to ensure the Frost Wolf Clan’s bloodline continued.

”Has anything major happened around the territory recently?” David felt a bit embarrassed talking about this with the Gray Wolf Knight and changed the subject.

”Frosty Winter is approaching.”

”Aside from the threat from the Northern Nobles, the greatest concern recently is the refugees from the north. By that time, wandering knights might be mixed in with the refugees, launching a surprise attack on Frost Wolf Ridge,” the Gray Wolf Knight spoke again.

Every winter, the Ice Kingdom further north experiences cold waves, and there are reports that this year’s cold wave might be even more terrifying, leading to more refugees, which poses significant uncertainties.

Moreover, they had reason to suspect that the Northern Nobles would hire some wandering knights or even mercenaries to blend in with the refugees and attack Frost Wolf Ridge.

With the death of the old Duke and the decline of the Frost Wolf Clan, many families were ready to make their move, especially the Ice Bear Clan, which had long wanted to replace the Frost Wolf Clan.

David’s brows furrowed. The situation with the Frost Wolf Clan was truly terrible, nearing life and death, especially with the old King seriously ill and the Silver Moon Kingdom on the brink of civil strife.

The Frost Wolf Clan could become a casualty of war at any time.

As such, he needed to find a way to quickly become stronger and directly shatter the enemies’ schemes to safeguard Frost Wolf Ridge and his safety.

Luckily,

it’s only early autumn now, with some time before Frosty Winter.

”Uncle Leo, I will focus on cultivating the Frost Wolf Breathing Technique; I need to prepare more Frost Wolf Secret Medicine.”

The cultivation of the Breathing Technique mainly relied on one’s own bloodline power, but with the assistance of secret medicine, the efficiency of Breathing Technique cultivation could be greatly enhanced, quickly becoming stronger.

This was also the main reason why commoners in this world found it difficult to succeed, while only nobles could train knights, as the resources required for training knights were terrifying!

Even for the Tier One Frost Wolf Breathing Technique, its main ingredient was a plant called Wolf Blood Grass, which had absorbed the blood of extraordinary wolves. Even without requiring high-quality Wolf Blood Grass, just its harsh growing conditions made it so expensive that a small lord’s monthly tax revenue was needed to buy one. Even now, the Frost Wolf Clan struggled to gather it.

”Rest assured.”

”The Frost Wolf Clan has never stopped collecting Frost Wolf Secret Medicine Materials.”

The Gray Wolf Knight spoke solemnly.

However, with the decline of the Frost Wolf Clan and the intentional targeting by the Ice Bear Clan, many channels had been blocked, making it much more difficult.

David naturally knew this, clenching his fists.

The lesson that the weak will be bullied is applicable in any world.

After the Gray Wolf Knight left, David practiced the Frost Wolf Breathing Technique once, then headed to the castle.

He felt a sense of urgency and had to quickly figure out the specific effects of his Golden Finger and then quickly become stronger!

After sweating during the practice of the Frost Wolf Breathing Technique, David ordered a servant to draw water, planning to take a nice bath to relax before planning his next step.

Splash——

David scooped water, pouring it over himself.

Suddenly, he paused, speaking in a deep voice, ”Who’s there? Come out.”

Just as he finished speaking, a young maid appeared. Despite it being autumn, she was dressed thinly, with a blush on her face.

”Master, this servant is here to assist you with bathing...”

The maid was visibly nervous but boldly stepped forward.

David remained silent for a moment, having always felt that this maid named Jesse had been trying to seduce him intentionally or unintentionally, and now she had directly come to him!

For such a scheming woman, he felt indifferent, but thinking of the Golden Finger, he had a change of heart and said, ”Come in then.”

Jesse was delighted and quickly stepped forward to help him scrub his back.

”You want to serve me?” David directly asked.

Jesse naturally knew what the young master meant and nodded without hesitation.

The next moment, David stepped out of the bath, picked up the maid, and headed for the bed to test the effect of the Golden Finger.

Soon, he completed a round of cultivation, but his expression was solemn as the system notified him of finishing cultivation without any increase.

”So, does the cultivation target have specific requirements?”

”Liya, because of the trace of Frost Wolf Bloodline in her, can help me activate the Frost Wolf Bloodline, and assist in boosting my bloodline strength.”

”But Jesse is just a regular person, so even with cultivation, she can’t bring any enhancement?” He made a judgment in his mind.

”Master...” Jesse wore a coquettish expression.

David gently nodded, and after another round of interaction, the system still didn’t provide any improvement, confirming his suspicions.

Jesse lay on the bed, exhausted, but feeling secretly pleased, guessing that the young master indeed had such intentions.

Indeed, by throwing herself at him, the master accepted her immediately. Next, she would have to win his favor and strive to bear offspring soon, stepping into the doors of the Frost Wolf Clan.

”Go and rest.” David stood up and said calmly.

”Thank you, master.”

After Jesse left, David found Liya.

”There’s a maid named Jesse in the castle.”

”Have the steward arrange for her to live in the Frost Wolf Clan’s old residence.”

David told Liya.

Personal maids were traditionally arranged to live in the old residence once their young master came of age; this indeed was the custom.

Jesse, originally just an ordinary maid, now being treated as a personal maid, David felt was enough.

Liya was stunned upon hearing this, suddenly feeling a bit flustered.

This indeed was something the mistress of the castle should do, indicating that Young Master David truly regarded her as the lady of the castle.

”Is there any problem?” David continued.

”No, there’s not.”

Liya took a deep breath, her face full of seriousness.

”Hmm, also, reprimand the other maids appropriately.”

David also planned to use this matter to reprimand those maids with little schemes, as he knew how important a stable rear was!
