Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 918: Chapter 912: Chu Molin Returns Home_1

“Chu Molin, just say whatever you have on your mind,” Qin Xue sat on the bed, observing the man sitting beside her who’d been stuck reading the same page for a while now.

“What’s the deal with Fang Xiu?” Chu Molin finally asked her after hearing his wife’s comment.

“Isn’t it all because of Jing Xin?” Qin Xue retold the whole mess to Chu Molin.

“That’s why you aren’t allowed to inform Jing Xin that Fang Xiu and her son are with us. Wait until she has given birth, and then we can see if there’s any way to treat her voice. If she gets too stressed out, it might be too much for her to handle,” Qin Xue said to Chu Molin.

“Alright. But your transfer order should be coming soon too, right? What are your plans?” Chu Molin thought about how many days had passed. The news should be arriving soon. But now, as the house was getting crowded and his wife’s stress levels were increasing, he felt distressed.

“Can I not go to the hospital right now?” Qin Xue was somewhat unsure if that was acceptable.

...
“Why?” Chu Molin wondered. She’d always wanted to work, hadn’t she? Why was she passing up the opportunity now?

“There’s too much to handle at home, and I can’t stand idle. I can tell them to come to me with surgeries that they can’t perform, but I don’t want to go there on a daily basis. They don’t have to pay me either. But I can’t just ignore the chaos at home, can I?” Qin Xue hadn’t expected Fang Xiu and her child to be in such a predicament, and she feared regretting her actions later, so she decided on the option that was best for everyone.

“I can talk to the upper management about this, but it may not make things easier for you,” Chu Molin knew that the army needed experienced doctors like Qin Xue, so stalling too much wasn’t really an option.

“Well, one day at a time, I guess. It seems like whenever I decide to take something on, trouble comes in waves. Chu Molin, do you think I’m biting off more than I can chew?” Qin Xue walked over, hugging him from behind, leaning her weight onto him.

“Are you very tired?” Chu Molin asked, as he covered her arms around his shoulders, turning his head to look at her.

“I’m not all that worn out, just feel a bit overwhelmed sometimes,” Qin Xue buried her head in his neck, her voice muffled as she spoke.

“Take things slow, don’t rush. If you’re too tired, let go. Not everything has to be your responsibility. Everyone has their own life to live, it’s not all on you,” Chu Molin consoled her, feeling affectionate towards his devoted wife.

“I know, but they are my first friends when I came into this world, and we’ve gone through so much together. I just can’t bear to leave them behind,” Qin Xue was inspired by their indomitable spirit, and felt obligated to help because she’d only given orders while others did the work so far. It was impossible for her to abandon them.

“You’re not being asked to abandon them, just try to take care of yourself as well,” Chu Molin knew this was how she felt, but if his wife was as heartless as others, he wouldn’t care about her as much as he did.

“Mm, I know. I just wanted to talk to you about it,” Qin Xue nuzzled her face against his.

“Come here, let’s read together for a bit,” Chu Molin sighed, feeling somewhat helpless. She didn’t take care of herself. Her face was so cold, so how could her body be faring any better?
