Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 908: Chapter 902 Jing Yuan Drugs_1

At noon, Jing Yuan came over again, this time when Fang Xiu was not around. She had learned her lesson and brought things with her this time. Not only gifts for Jingtao, but also for Fang Xiu. And she had a perfect excuse, because she remembered that their father’s birthday was in a couple of days, only three or four days after her own. So after her birthday it would be her Dad’s, and using this as a reason for her elder brother to go back home, she felt sure he would have no objections.

“Brother, I forgot to tell you this morning. Dad’s birthday is in a couple of days. He wants you all to go home for a meal.” Jing Yuan started speaking as soon as she saw Jing Xin.

“Oh, I see. Your birthday must’ve passed then.” Jing Xin only remembered his sister’s birthday after she mentioned it.

“Brother, you’ve been so busy that you forgot about my birthday. Let me know if there’s anything you want, and I’ll get it for you.” Jing Xin had indeed forgotten about it amidst his intense work schedule. He usually prepared gifts ahead of time in past years.

“Brother, what are you saying? You’re so busy with work, you can’t remember everything. It’s over now, isn’t it? The way we celebrate doesn’t change anyway, so it’s no big deal.” Jing Yuan laughed, thinking to herself that what she wanted, he couldn’t give.

“Our Yuanyuan has grown up, and now can even think of others.” Jing Xin looked at his sister, now mature and elegant, and thought to himself how quickly time passed.

...
“Brother, anyone who is already twenty and still isn’t sensible would be the laughingstock of others. How come sister-in-law and my little nephew aren’t around?” Jing Yuan was thinking that Fang Xiu had been so guarded against her in the morning, but now she was nowhere to be seen.

“She’s gone grocery shopping, and Taotao’s napping. You were looking for your sister-in-law?” Jing Xin asked Jing Yuan.

“No, I was just out shopping and saw an accessory I thought would suit sister-in-law, so I bought it to give her. I forgot to give it to her when I left because our talk wasn’t very pleasant in the morning. It wasn’t until I left that I remembered. That’s when I remembered about Dad’s birthday too. So I came here to deliver them together. Consider it as a way of apologizing to sister-in-law.” Jing Yuan took out the accessory box from the shopping bag and handed it to Jing Xin. She was thinking what a great opportunity this was – better to come at a good time than to come early.

Jing Xin looked at the box in front of him. They’ve been together for more than two years, and he hasn’t bought her things. Perhaps he has not been a good husband.

“Yuanyuan, thank you.” Jing Xin took the box and thanked his sister. He would surprise his wife on her birthday.

“Brother, I’m thirsty and want to pour myself a glass of water, do you want one too?” Jing Yuan thought that she should seize the opportunity.

“Alright, thank you for that.” Jing Xin replied.

“Why would a brother thank his own sister?” Jing Yuan said, heading to the kitchen. First, she poured herself a glass of water and drank it before pouring another for Jing Xin. She then took out a small paper package from her bag, opened it, and poured the content into the water. A white foam that dissolved instantly into the water, leaving no color or taste. Jing Yuan had a small smile, “Brother, please don’t blame me, I really love you.”

“Brother, here’s your water. Is this the store my sister-in-law works for? The clothes are really beautiful.” Jing Yuan tried to distract Jing Xin with a topic.

“Yes, she is really indebted to her boss this year. Otherwise, I don’t know how she and her son would have survived. And now I really have no idea what they are going through.” Jing Xin felt grateful to Qin Xue. She really helped their family a lot. Without Qin Xue, his existence would have been doubtful, let alone the obligation of his wife and child. Therefore, he was aware of it in his mind.
