Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 910: Chapter 904: Jing Yuan Succeeds_1

As soon as Fang Xiu entered the room, she noticed something was off. No one was in the shop, yet the room was closed. He was supposed to be keeping the shop, so where did he go?

After putting the groceries in the kitchen, Fang Xiu gently pushed the door, which opened easily. But the sight before her nearly took her breath away.

“What are you doing?” Fang Xiu yelled, then broke into silent sobs. She wanted to verbally rip into them, but she found herself unable to speak. She had lost her voice at the worst possible time.

Her cry jolted Jing Xin awake. In response, he pushed off the woman on top of him. His muddled head cleared instantly. Noticing the disheveled Jing Yuan he had just pushed aside, he then turned to his wife at the door. If he didn’t understand what was happening now, he might as well be dead.

“Jing Yuan, you bastard.” Jing Xin quickly got off the bed and approached his wife. He wanted to explain things to her, but he realized that under these circumstances, no one would believe their innocence.

“Xiuxiu, things aren’t what they look like. Believe me, it’s really not what you think.” Jing Xin didn’t know what else to say, so he just kept repeating these phrases.

...
Fang Xiu side-stepped to avoid his reaching hand. She didn’t want him to touch her. She found him repulsive.

“Xiuxiu, can you hear me out?” Jing Xin observed his evading wife. He knew that nothing he could say would make her believe him. But the sight of her silently crying made his heart ache.

“Sis-in-law, really nothing happened between us. Brother was just feeling a bit unwell. I came to check on him. He probably dreamt it was you, and so held on to me. I swear, nothing happened.” Jing Yuan knew she needed to act, even if it meant pouring fuel on the flames.

Fang Xiu desperately wanted them to leave her house, but her lips moved without any sound coming out. Why now of all times was she losing her voice? She bit her lip hard, tasting blood in her mouth, yet she remained silent.

With a sudden pang in her chest, she spat out a mouthful of blood. Then everything went dark. She knew nothing, aside from the terrified cry of “Xiuxiu!” as she collapsed.

Walking in the darkness, Fang Xiu had no idea where she was but she felt no fear. She even liked it here. Although the place was entirely dark with no light at all, it was free of the troubling issues that hounded her.

“Xiuxiu, don’t sleep anymore, okay? Wake, okay? I know it was my fault. Will you wake up and let me explain?” Jing Xin looked at his wife who had been asleep for two days. The doctor said if she didn’t wake up today, she might never wake up again.

Jing Xin hated himself. Why hadn’t he been more cautious? Why had he let Jing Yuan drug him? He looked at his wife, sleeping peacefully. If he hadn’t wounded her like this, she would never remain in a coma by choice.

Yes, the doctor said it was her unwillingness to wake up. She was pregnant, and they had their son Taotao. Was she willing to give up all that just to remain asleep?

“Xiuxiu, even if you’re angry with me, you need to wake up to express your anger, right? As long as you wake up, you can do whatever you like — beat me or scold me. And about Taotao, he’s been crying and asking for you every day. Are you abandoning Taotao because you’re furious with me? What about our unborn child? Can’t you feel the baby moving inside you? The doctor said if you don’t wake up, we might lose the baby to preserve your vital signs. Can you bear to let it go before it’s even born?” Jing Xin didn’t know how else to try to wake Fang Xiu, so he just said whatever came to his mind.
