Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 877: Blue Star

As soon as Veronica made her announcement, the elite members expressed excitement.

They didnʼt dare to cheer loudly though. After all, they understood that Veronica had more to say. She had merely announced that the content was going to be confidential and warned them in advance.

If news of todayʼs discussion were to leak, then all 30 of them would instantly become a suspect of being a spy or traitor.

Thus, some of them couldnʼt help but cast wary gaze toward others whom they were skeptical of.

It only needed one traitor or spy among them to cause the rest to become abandoned.

When Veronica noticed the reaction among them, she didnʼt stop them from being skeptical of each other.

Although OneManMedia and she had screened them beforehand, she couldnʼt be certain that they were definitely clean.

Trust was something that could only be developed over time. Of course, there may be exceptions, but such exceptions were extremely rare to occur.

In the meantime, Blue Star closed her eyes, clearly unwilling to be involved in some internal politics.

The other elite members also didnʼt cast their gaze on her either. Blue Star had proven herself to be an elite among them, and her battle record was enough to shut them up.

Who dared to call her out?

Aside from Blue Star, there was also another individual whom many subconsciously avoided.

And they were none other than the level 40 Assassin, Dark Night.

He didnʼt have any PvP record, but his PK record was no less than Blue Starʼs achievement. He wore a mask to cover most of his face, leaving only his eyes. His eyes were rather cold and somewhat murderous, to say the least.

Rumors had stated that Dark Night joined the guild after witnessing the Honorary Elder Cool Windʼs massacre in Dawnshire City.

Veronicaʼs gaze also happened to shift to him.

ʼDark Night… Level 40 Assassin and joined after the ambush incident. How did he manage to gain enough merit to be an elite member?ʼ Confused, she turned to look at OneManMedia.

OneManMedia faked a cough and whispered, ”Dark Night was able to climb the rank because he PKed many players who targeted our guild at Garak Forest. His kill count is now more than 300.”

”More than 300?” Astonished, Veronicaʼs eyes widened in shock. ”How is he not affected by the Bounty Tag system then?”

Having killed that many, Dark Night wouldnʼt be able to step foot inside the city.

The same applied to those who had targeted and killed their members. They were affected by the Bounty Tag system and were forced to wait it out before they could return to an NPC city.

They could only remain unaffected if there was a declaration of war between guilds or teams.

”Yes, the hidden class that Dark Night advanced seemed special. He could kill players without being affected by the Bounty Tag system, but there are certain requirements. As for the details, I have no idea.” OneManMedia responded.

This was also the reason why he had chosen Dark Night to join. His kill count made him instantly eligible to become an elite member, but he was promoted because of his uniqueness of the hidden class.

Nodding, Veronica seemed to understand the situation. She didnʼt mind Dark Night concealing the certain requirements. Everyone had their own secret, so she wouldnʼt pry further.

Once everyone calmed down and stopped their wary gazes, Veronica turned to Crimson Heart.

The Forsaken Set matter was better off letting the expert explain it.

Seeing her gaze, Crimson Heart sighed softly and stepped forward.

She then retrieved 30 contracts and said, ”Before I speak, I hope everyone could sign the contract. If you donʼt want to, then you may leave by teleporting out.”

What Veronica did was a verbal warning, but what Crimson Heart was doing was an established warning with severe consequences. The two had discussed beforehand that Crimson Heart would take on the role of bad cop.

She was definitely going to be criticized behind the scenes, but Crimson Heart could care less about such matters.

A few minutes later, the elite members finally realized the significance of todayʼs operation.

The contract actually forced them to restart their account from scratch if they were discovered to have leaked the content to other parties without permission.

Moreover, they couldnʼt just restart immediately but had to wait 3 months in real-time before they could do so.

The Divine World marked their biological prints, meaning that they wouldnʼt be able to cheat the system either.

Anyone who had played the Divine World knew that not being able to play for 3 months was equivalent to sentencing them to a lifetime of torture. It was the equivalent of drugs which were highly addicting and the withdrawal symptoms would be intense.

In an instant, half of the elite members were hesitant about signing such a contract.

They werenʼt going to be rats, but the consequences were really scary.

What would happen if they were to be framed and failed to defend themselves?

There were a lot of instances when innocent people were accused or framed and would never be able to clear themselves. Even if it did, the damages had already been done and no amount of compensation was ever going to heal the wound.

”Just so you know, if the accusation made by someone failed to provide concrete evidence, they would be severely punished. Blacklisted even if it was discovered they had malicious intent.” Crimson Heart clarified.

She understood their mindset, granted that she had also signed a similar contract with Xu Feng. The only difference was that if she ever decided to leave, she had to forgo all the things she had learned during her time in the Vanguard Guild.

Sometime later, both Blue Star and Dark Night signed the contract simultaneously.

They didnʼt care about the consequences since they had no such intention either. As a matter of fact, they highly doubted someone would be retarded enough to provoke them.

They were undefeated in their current state.
