Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 874: Return To Maze

With Xu Fengʼs current injuries being inflicted upon by the imps, Carmen felt guilty about it.

After all, he had chosen to rescue her over his safety.

She was definitely grateful and felt warmth about the choices. Although some might argue it was just going back to the ground level, it was the thought that counts.

And in this particular instance, she could sense Xu Fengʼs genuine concern over her well-being versus his.

What more could she ask for?

A few minutes later, the two directly went straight to the portal. Their vision blurred for a moment, and soon, they felt the chains that shackled their ankles had dissipated.

By the time they regained their vision, they realized it was the same gloomy-like maze environment.

The only difference was that they landed in the safe zone, a different one compared to their start. Moreover, his injuries had been completely recovered, and got his equipment back on.

The first thing that Xu Feng did was check the timer above the sky.

Timer: 38:01:41

More than half an hour had gone by, and Xu Feng couldnʼt help but smile bitterly. ʼWhat an overestimation of oneʼs self.ʼ

They chose to enter the portal, essentially giving up the reward that would have been granted if they reached the peak.

Nevertheless, the bitterness only lasted for a few seconds before Xu Feng recollected his thought process.

There was no point in crying over it.

So what if they missed out on the reward?

Xu Feng reckoned that they wouldnʼt have reached the top in time anyway if it had taken them over half an hour to even reach the 5F.

While Xu Feng was distracted by this thought process, Carmen, on the other hand, was dumbfounded as she glanced at her status screen.

”Guild Leader, thereʼs an extra icon next to my status screen.” She raised her voice and said in alarm.

”An extra icon?”

”Yes, but I donʼt know what it does. Thereʼs no description for it.”

”Iʼll check it and see what itʼs about.” Hearing that, Xu Feng quickly opened his status screen to check the icon.

The icon depicted an image of a chain, but the part that caught his attention was the 1/6 fraction.

He didnʼt want to jump to a conclusion yet. However, there was a high chance that they were required to collect more of these similar icons.

Suddenly, Xu Feng noticed his mana recovery rate had marginally improved as opposed to the previous.

Other than him, even Carmen began to notice that she felt less restricted.

The two turned to each other and stared for a moment.

Finally, Carmen was the first one to raise her opinion. ”Could it be that the Mini-Game A wasnʼt meant to be intended for completion? We just need to reach the part where we can encounter the portal to be done?”

Silent, Xu Feng found her opinion quite logical. Indeed, the portal only appeared near the end of the 5F, which should have indicated something.

”We can keep that thought for now.” He nodded and continued, ”Still, we canʼt be completely certain. We donʼt have enough information to confirm it. So for now, itʼs just speculation.”

Carmen agreed with the response. Indeed, with how ridiculous the obstacles they had encountered, she highly doubted the System would allow them to guess correctly.

”So what should we do now?” She asked softly.

”Do we advance or do we take a few moments to rest and reset our mentality?” She continued, wanting to hear his decision.

Since they were thrown to another safe zone, the timer had effectively paused.

Therefore, she didnʼt feel the need to rush at all.

Based on her current condition, it was clear that she needed some time to fix her mentality.

”We should take a rest,” Xu Feng stretched his arms and sat down. ”Iʼm a bit exhausted after that adventure.”

Carmen heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that. She was happy that they got to rest, but to avoid being teased, she kept a calm composure and simply nodded.

Despite her attempt to conceal it, Xu Feng easily detected her mood changes.

ʼWhat was there to be embarrassed about?ʼ He wondered silently. He had been whipped hard by the imps. So if they were to put up with who should be the most embarrassed, then it would be him.

As the two rested, they began to converse among themselves. They went over their actions in the Mini-Game A and analyzed how they could improve for the better.

While the two started to relax slightly, back at Star Falls City, Veronica was on the verge of seething and exploding.

She had been constantly receiving distress messages from fellow guild members who were being targeted at Garak Forest. The total loss was already reaching an exaggerated amount of 200 gold coins already.

”Damn it, these people are too much.” She slammed her palm down on the desk.

Opposite of her was OneManMedia, who had returned to the Guild Residence to relay his report.

The information was too much to be sent in messages, so he had no choice but to return and explain everything to Veronica.

”Heavenʼs Destiny Blood Light from Greendale City had openly targeted our Vanguard Guild members,” OneManMedia reported and continued to list a few more guilds.

”Road Pike from Trion Guild also harassed our members. There are many others, but they are mostly second-rate or third-rate guilds.”

When Veronica heard the name, Road Pike, she was confused at first. She found the name to be very familiar until she came to realize where she heard that name before.

”Road Pike? You mean that same person who attended our auction and asked questions?” Veronica raised an eyebrow.

”Yes,” OneManMedia replied. ”You even addressed him as Mister Road Pike back then when they were inquiring about the Greater EXP Potion.

During that time, OneManMedia was responsible for streaming and overseeing the situation.

Thus, he naturally remembered all the prominent ones who attended the auction.

Meanwhile, Veronica finally exploded and cursed aloud, ”Damn these backstabbing bastards! How dare they purchase items from us and then use them against us! Iʼll make them pay dearly for making me stress out!”
