Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 865: Mini-Game A

As soon as Xu Feng and Carmenʼs hands touched the white portal, they didnʼt even get a system prompt requesting if they wanted to enter or not.

Instead, they were immediately pulled inside, and the two were being dazzled by a bunch of glitches and whatnot.

”Are we bugged out?” Carmen stood in place and gazed at their surroundings.

”Either that or the scenery is loading.” Xu Feng said. He was pondering the situation and tried to remember if he had encountered such a situation before.

”Damn, we wouldnʼt be stuck here forever, right?” She pursed her lips, her eyes hovering at the timer.

Maybe, the only thing that reassured them slightly was that the timer was paused and didnʼt count down. However, if they were to continue to remain stuck in this glitch-like place, then she might just forcefully log out.

What was the difference between being stuck here and being in prison?

Nothing!

To make things even more dreadful, all her skills were locked.

”Ugh, sorry, Guild Leader.” In the end, she exhaled deeply, turned to him, and apologized.

”Sorry for what?”

”I dragged the both of us here.”

”And?”

”Are you not mad that weʼre stuck here? If I didnʼt act impulsively, then we would have still been in the maze.” Carmen raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Usually, people tend to blame the other for their current situation. After all, that was just human nature.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng was amused by her reaction and question.

”Would you have gotten mad at me or blamed me if I was the one that dragged us both here?” He raised his own question.

”Of course, not!” She crossed her arms, seemingly fuming that he would even ask such a question. As if she was some ungrateful person who would blame the person who assisted her for so long.

”See, that is precisely my reaction when you ask that question.” Amused, Xu Feng chuckled in response.

With that being said, the mood and atmosphere gradually turned lighter as the two decided to take the time to explain what they had done.

Although Carmen had heard bits of information from Veronica, she much preferred to listen to it from Xu Feng personally.

”Omo, so you already planned that far ahead?”

Astonished, Carmen didnʼt expect Xu Feng to reveal some of his plans for the upcoming future.

Plans such as utilizing the Forsaken Set or using the Town to boost the prestige in their guild and recruit talented players.

”The plans are already in motion. I reckon the Cyclone Guild people that I made a deal with should have sent someone to discuss with us.” Xu Feng said.

So far, almost everything was under his control except for the ambush incident. He hadnʼt anticipated Floral Witch to be that incompetent and not even be able to keep a tight lid on their secret.

In fact, he was even a bit worried that the material deal they had would be spilled.

However, considering how the Maleficent Guild only acted and clamored about the slots.

He reckoned that they didnʼt know about the materials deal. Otherwise, it wouldnʼt have just been the Maleficent Guild, but numerous more.

It would have been an onslaught with many guilds, trying their best to steal the materials in his hand. Of course, they would be dreaming if they could ever get their hands on his materials.

Besides the fact that he was the owner of the source, Star Falls City NPCs would regulate and defend the source without even needing him to request it.

Unless these players wished to court death and be forever imprisoned, then they could dream about ever stealing his material source.

Suddenly, the glitchy environment around them started to tremble. It started off slow and slowly transitioned to violent shaking.

”Stay close to me,” Xu Feng hurriedly warned and held her hand tight, afraid of separating from her.

Carmen naturally didnʼt think much about it and grasped her hand tightly on his. She was used to such cliche scenes where people often get split up.

However, their worries were unfounded when a chain suddenly appeared.

”What the—” Before Carmen could even comprehend the situation, the chain vanished.

In the next instance, both hers and Xu Fengʼs ankles were chained up by it, ensuring that it would be impossible for them to split up or anything.

”...”

Speechless, Xu Feng was clueless about the situation and failed to comprehend what they were about to face.

Soon, his question was answered when they arrived at a place that depicted the underworld. The sky was dyed in red and everywhere had magma pumping out from the sizzling pool.

However, what attracted their attention was the tower ahead of them. The tower was no ordinary tower. It had numerous cracks and mechanisms that seemed to allow one to climb, jump, and grab on to ascend.

”They better not…” Xu Feng had a bad premonition and understood this type of scenario.

”Better not what?” Carmen, who was by his side, was confused and didnʼt understand the mechanism.

Though it didnʼt take long before she realized what they were undergoing.

System Notification: You have discovered Mini-Game A! You have arrived at the lowest level of hell! Please ascend the tower and reach the peak to escape. The time limit corresponds to the timer in the dungeon as soon as you ascend the first step.

Timer: 38:44:24

After seeing the timer, Xu Feng breathed a sigh of relief.

It was a good thing that the time they were stuck in the glitchy environment didnʼt have their timer countdown. Otherwise, he would have cursed the System for being black-hearted.

While he was relieved, Carmen was feeling dreadful pressure. She had come to realize all her attributes and skills were restricted.

”Guild Leader, itʼs like we were snapped back to level 1.” She turned to him and flashed a bittersweet smile.

”Well, thatʼs not a bad analogy.” Xu Feng frowned a bit at the upcoming obstacle. It was an ”Up” challenge, forcing them to climb up the tower without any utilization of skills or external factors.
