Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 851: Access Denied

Time quickly went by, and Carmen finally killed enough to trigger the activation of the secret dungeon.

”Ugh, youʼre really one evil person.” She clicked her tongue and glared at Xu Feng.

Other than providing some buff and healing, Xu Feng actually refused to assist her once in the killing of the monsters.

Having exposed him as the mysterious Eclipse Nova, she was certain that he had many offensive skills up on his sleeve.

Yet not only did Xu Feng refuse to use any of that, he even actively cheered her up like some bystanders.

How frustrating could that be?

It was the equivalent of a group project and you have that one lazy group member who refused to do any of the work but gets the full credit in the end.

As for complaints to the professor, that would also be impossible because the professor was a close-kin with the said member.

The analogy might sound far-fetched, but it remained the truth in their current state.

Who else could Carmen complain about his behavior to?

The mysterious boss?

But that mysterious boss was precisely Xu Feng and he ultimately had the say for everything.

”Okay, stop looking at me like some leech.” Xu Feng mused and explained, ”Itʼs not that I donʼt want to help you out, but most of my skills have a high cooldown duration. My level is also not that high, so I need to reserve them for the secret dungeon.”

”Then we could have just waited until you got your level up.” Carmen gnashed her teeth.

”Also not possible. In a few days from now, Iʼll have to go to the Hall Of Resonance with you.” He shook his head and kindly reminded her of the event.

Sure enough, Carmenʼs mind went blank with the reminder of the trial event.

Moreover, the trial event was something she actively strived to become a part of.

How embarrassing was it for her to forget about the event?

”Ugh, this is all your fault, Feng.” She darted her eyes at him and blamed him.

Had it not been for his repeatedly rash and impulsive actions, then she wouldnʼt have been so distracted to try to pull him out of it.

But if she was given a chance to redo her choices, then she would have still chosen to have a pep talk with Xu Feng.

Nothing worried her more than seeing her Guild Leader falling into a bottomless abyss.

In her eyes, the Guild Leader was a confident and rational man, who always made decisions after deep planning.

It wasnʼt an exaggeration to say that their guild operated like a cogwheel mesh mechanism, with Xu Feng as the core gear that kept everything running.

If Xu Feng were to falter or become ruined, the guild would crumble in an instant.

This was something that Carmen feared the most!

Despite her strength, she couldnʼt possibly keep the guild running by herself. She was not the leader type, but a competent team player.

”Alright, havenʼt you admonished me enough?” Xu Feng raised his hands in surrender. Naturally, he knew Carmen didnʼt really blame him seriously. It was more of a pout that she was expressing and warning him to never commit such a mistake again.

To be fair, he even found it somewhat comical that Carmen had taken on the role of Allison. In the past timeline, it was Allison who tried to give him a pep talk on his downward spiraling path.

The difference was that the past him didnʼt listen and ignored the advice as opposed to the current him.

This was evidence that he did learn from his mistake and showcased growth.

ʼThank you, Carmen.ʼ He said silently. He didnʼt say it aloud because he was certain that Carmen would really give him a thorough bashing for being polite to her.

Something wasnʼt needed to say aloud to convey their intention.

A few minutes later, Carmen guided Xu Feng back to their initial location.

Sure enough, there was an entrance door that appeared.

Before Carmen could go ahead and touch it, Xu Feng took the lead.

ʼIndeed, this is something new.ʼ Xu Feng thought to himself, his eyes glancing at the system prompt.

System Notification: You do not have the right to access the dungeon! Only the person who completed the secret method has the right!

Usually, a secret dungeon when discovered, it didnʼt matter who was the first to discover. Anyone who subsequently found it could compete and attempt it.

This was the main reason why most discovery of a secret dungeon from an affiliated group would strive their best to conceal the information.

After all, they didnʼt want their fortuitous encounter to become someone elseʼs loot.

However, it was evident that the usual norm of a secret dungeon did not apply to the one that Carmen discovered.

He purposely didnʼt party up with Carmen to avoid sharing experience points. But most importantly, he didnʼt want to contribute to the killing recognized by the System.

By doing so, he could now confirm that only those who triggered the secret method had the right to decide whether to attempt the secret dungeon or not.

ʼEven if discovered by others now, they still wouldnʼt be able to snatch it.ʼ Xu Feng confirmed his suspicion. Though it didnʼt really matter much, given that there couldnʼt be anyone else who could come all the way here unscathed.

”Whatʼs the matter?” Carmen asked after noticing Xu Feng was standing by the entrance door in silence for a while.

”Nothing, itʼs just that Iʼll need you to invite me as a team,” Xu Feng retracted his steps and explained the circumstances.

Sometime later, Carmen nodded in understanding.

Contrary to Xu Fengʼs shock and deep thoughts, this was her first time encountering a secret dungeon with special requirements. She didnʼt count the Fortress of the Fallen because even though the entrance was very peculiar, it didnʼt have any special requirements.

Therefore, she didnʼt react much and calmly proceeded to invite Xu Feng.

”Are you really sure that you want just the two of us to enter?” She turned to him and asked for one final time.
