The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 127: Chapter 127: One month

The beast struggled to stand, but its body couldn’t recover from the damage.

A few moments later, it stopped moving.

Ronan’s eyes brightened.

”It can actually kill a King Realm being.”

A smile appeared on his face.

This was exactly what he wanted.

From that day onward, Ronan began hunting King Realm beasts.

He didn’t remain in one place either. He searched through the island, looking for King Realm beasts while testing his newly evolved trait and ability.

The stronger the opponent, the more destructive power he could accumulate, and the stronger his attacks became.

Although he still had to be careful against stronger King Realm beings, Ronan was no longer helpless against them.

Meanwhile, Eve and Joy had returned to the main camp.

They bought some food before walking around for a while, looking at the various weapons being sold.

There were swords, spears, armor and many other things, but the prices made both of them speechless.

”We can’t afford any of these.”

Joy looked at the weapons before sighing.

Eve nodded.

They had only gotten around twelve points from the people they had killed.

It showed just how new the economy of the camp was.

Most people had only just arrived, and nobody had accumulated a large number of points yet. Even the people who had managed to survive were spending most of their points on food, water and other necessities.

After buying enough food, the two girls returned to the edge of the camp.

However, before they could reach there, several people suddenly surrounded them.

”Hand over your points.”

One of the men stepped forward as several others surrounded Eve and Joy.

The two girls looked at them calmly.

Most of these people were ranked around the nine hundreds, and they had clearly been watching Eve and Joy for some time.

They probably thought the two women were easy targets.

But then one of them noticed the numbers on their wrists.

His expression changed.

”Wait...”

The others also looked.

The number on Eve’s wrist was now in the eight hundreds.

Joy’s was the same.

The people surrounding them immediately backed away.

”How did they...”

”They were almost at one thousand before.”

”Were they hiding their strength?”

The people around them were stunned.

They had seen Eve and Joy’s rankings before, and both of them had been close to the bottom.

Yet now they were already in the eight hundreds.

Eve and Joy didn’t bother explaining anything.

They simply walked past them and returned to their area to rest.

Once fitted and under the gaze of evreyone around, they ate the food they had bought while discussing what they should do next.

”We need more points,” Eve said.

Joy nodded.

”The only way is to keep hunting.”

Eve thought for a moment before speaking again.

”We should also fight injured humans.”

Joy paused.

She clearly understood what Eve meant.

If they fought someone who was already injured, they would have a much greater chance of killing them.

And as vampires, drinking their blood would also make them stronger.

Joy remained silent for a moment.

She didn’t like the idea.

But she wanted strength.

So in the end, she nodded.

”Then we’ll do it.”

The two continued eating as they discussed their next hunt.

A week passed.

The camp had changed quite a lot during that week.

Instructor Kali returned once again, but this time he didn’t come to explain the rules.

Instead, he had something else to announce.

”One month from now, the first tournament of Monster Camp will begin.”

The moment those words were spoken, the entire camp became quiet.

Kali continued.

”The tournament will have rewards for the top two hundred participants.”

Many people’s eyes immediately brightened.

”It doesn’t matter what your current ranking is. If you perform well enough during the tournament and finish within the top two hundred, you will receive the rewards.”

The people outside the top two hundred became excited.

This meant they had a chance.

Even if they couldn’t reach the top two hundred through the normal ranking system, they could still enter the tournament and fight their way into it.

But there was another problem.

Kali continued speaking.

”Your performance in the tournament will also affect the rankings.”

Everyone immediately understood what that meant.

Those who had been hiding their true strength would have to reveal it.

Some people had powerful abilities they had never shown.

Others had special traits they had been keeping hidden.

And some were simply waiting for the right opportunity.

The tournament would expose all of them.

Based on their performance, the rankings would change.

Those currently ranked high could fall, while those currently ranked low could rise.

However, nobody knew what the rewards would be yet.

But considering what the camp was like, there was no doubt they would be valuable.

After all, Kali had already said that the rewards would help improve their traits and strength.

Everyone immediately understood what they had to do.

One month.

They had one month to become stronger.

Nobody wanted to continue sleeping outside the cabins.

Nobody wanted to keep worrying about food and water.

And nobody wanted to remain weak enough that anyone could take their points.

The atmosphere of the camp changed almost immediately.

Everyone now had a goal.

Become stronger before the tournament began.

*******

”So, who should we follow?” Hesa couldn’t help but ask Yen. Now that Instructor Kali had spoken, this was a chance for the two women to grow stronger, so they had to lay out their plan and improve it.

” I would say those at the Three-Star Sovereign Realm, but let’s target them when they are alone,” Yen said as Hesa nodded.

Although they were Two-Star Sovereign Realm, they couldn’t blindly believe they could fight and kill Three-Star Sovereign Realm beings. These people could fight above their realm; only when they were injured, alone, and caught off guard could their chances of success be high.

”Alright then. Let’s hope we can find one or two. For now, I will—”

Hesa grabbed the food and took off.

”Hey...” Yen followed her as the two women left while the others’ faces twitched. Their stomachs grumbled as they closed their eyes in pain.
