The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Reflections

For the next few days, Ronan, Hesa, and Yen relaxed as they enjoyed the faint taste of a luxurious life.

And like promised, Mya visited, and Ronan took the chance to get closer and closer to her.

Maybe it was the Vampire’s charm, but even with him being disguised, Mya fell for him as the two got closer.

He started asking about some secrets, like when the Mayor would leave and the likes, and she told him everything she knew, even going as far as listening to her fellow maids’ discussions.

And also the butlers’, all to get the information Ronan needed.

Ronan had also already started planning. Sacrificing a city like this meant more than a hundred thousand people would be killed.

It was not something a sane man could do, and who said Ronan was sane? He was an undead and wasn’t a morally upright person.

He would do what he must do, but the two women...

That was a burden he had to overcome. They were fundamentally different. He could still pick it on himself, not having any emotional binding to this world, but the two women were born and raised in this world.

At this moment, the three were in a room as Ronan took a deep breath.

”There’s something I have to tell you, and it won’t only happen now but even in the future, so I want to know your thoughts about it...”

”Listen, even if you two disagree and won’t help, I will understand,” Ronan spoke as he looked at the two women.

”Just spill it already. Don’t tell me you’re gonna scam the Mayor...” Hesa rolled her eyes as she spoke.

”Master, don’t worry... I will do anything...” Yen said with a smile as Ronan’s face twitched.

Hesa...

”Well... it is like this...”

”Can you guys kill?” Ronan asked as the two women exchanged glances.

”Idiot... I’m in the military. Do you know how many beings I have killed?” Hesa asked.

”Master... I’m an assassin. I have killed some people,” Yen said as Ronan shook his head.

”Can you kill 1,000 people? Ten thousand? Fifty thousand... what about a whole city?” Ronan spoke slowly, his voice becoming cold as he finally saw the change in the women’s faces.

Sure, they might have killed people, but this... this scale of death was something...

[Quest:

[Sacrifice an entire city filled with humans.]

[Five pure adult women, twenty-four babies, their blood will be mixed together, and then drops will be spread around the city. By midnight, a dome of blood will appear as fog will fill the air, and all beings lower than the Sovereign Realm will fall into sleep. Before dawn, the host has to kill all beings in the city as a massive blood pool will be formed, and the host will advance his bloodline to the original Vampire bloodline.]

[Reward: Break through to the Sovereign Realm. Obtain an Evolutionary Trait Upgrade Card (increases trait by five levels).]

At first, Ronan thought this mission was strange. The difficulty was as high as ascending the heavens... but now, the system suddenly released this explanation as if sensing Ronan was close to actually starting the mission.

Ronan was also sure the benefits were not just a breakthrough to the Sovereign Realm, and with the original Vampire mentioned, he understood.

And after this, things could only get more and more dark. Once he crossed this line, there was no going back. But who was Ronan?

An undead, a Ghoul-Vampire hybrid... a man who died twice... yeah... it was dark, crazy, in fact, enough for you to question your humanity, but he wasn’t human, at least not anymore.

”Master, what do you mean?” Yen asked, her expression full of shock. Kill everyone in a city? What the hell?

Hesa was quiet, her eyes narrowed, but Ronan was not smiling. This was no joke. He actually meant it.

”Why?” Hesa asked. That was just what she needed to know. It made no sense why he would kill a whole city.

Even if they were getting thirsty as Vampires, it didn’t need a whole city, so what did it mean?

”I mean I would kill everyone and wash this ground with crimson blood. Why? Because I need it for advancement... it is not easy for a Ghoul to break the racial barrier,” Ronan smiled, but it didn’t look normal. It was ominous.

His eyes, even with the disguise, looked crimson as a reddish aura lingered around him, while steam rose from his body.

The two women gulped as they heard a gurgling sound, and a huge blood sea with no end in sight appeared behind Ronan.

This... what the hell?

No... wait. Who was Ronan?

”Master... I... this...” Yen was having a hard time processing it... a whole city? Thousands of lives killed.

”How will you pull this off?” Meanwhile, Hesa asked as Ronan looked at her in surprise.

Why did it seem like she didn’t blame him but only wanted to know the reason? Don’t tell him she would actually do it?

Yen took a while battling against herself but it was for for her master, he needed to advance anyways if not for Ronan she would be dead and he even gave her a chance to take revenge in the future . She took a deep breath ,looked at the two... then she chuckled.

”Okay, I promised my life to you, Master. I will do it,” Yen spoke, but her heart wasn’t calm.

”Thank you, Yen. As for the question, Hesa... I have a plan, but I need your help. Also, we will need to make some pawns,” Ronan said as Hesa’s face finally changed.

”I always knew something was not right with you two... Forget it. I am not interested.” Hesa turned back as she left the room.

Ronan’s heart pounded.

She... wait, what if Hesa reports them? No, she was also an undead. It was foolish to do, but then again... what if it weighed down too much on her?

”Don’t worry, Master. I will talk to her, but even though I also agree to this, Master... isn’t this too much? We are going to be killing both the good people and the bad, both the elderly and the kids...” Yen didn’t finish as she left the room.

She didn’t need to as Ronan took a deep breath. This mission was not only for advancement, breaking the racial barrier, but it was like it was speaking to him, asking him:

How much can you sacrifice to get up there?

How much can you give up to achieve your goal? Even the last trait of humanity... would you give that up?
