The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Welcome back

The three enjoyed the night, at least the two women. Ronan was full of tears.

By Morning , they put on their disguises as they headed back to the military base camp.

As they got closer to the human military camp, they could sense multiple auras clustered together.

Once they passed the hills, the picture became clear as they could see the gathered human army.

Like the Orcs wanted, the humans had been tense. They knew what the Orcs were playing at but couldn’t relax.

It was a suffocating thing. They were trapped, and each day, their mental capability kept waning.

But with the appearance of the three...

”Ah, Sir Basha.”

”Welcome, Commander Joy.”

”Hello, Commander Eve.”

The three were greeted warmly as Ronan smiled. What a great feeling. Soon, he and the two women were led to the General’s tent.

Ronan and the two women sat as they looked at the man across from them.

His face kept changing from a smile to anger to confusion.

”So, you completed the mission and destroyed 5,000 Orcs?” the General asked.

”Not to talk of that, you are asking for 50,000 coins for the 5,000 Orcs you killed, stating you took down a few Sovereign Realm experts, so 50,000 coins is you being considerate?” the General added as Ronan looked away.

Damn... he just remembered he scammed this General of 6,000 coins before he left. Would they be able to do this?

”You two... did he really kill 5,000 Orcs by himself?” the General asked as the women exchanged glances.

”He did,” they replied.

”Fine, if true, your request for 50,000 coins wouldn’t be too much after all. You did plant the Sayo Eater seed. You did well. It would be verified, and once so, the gold will be distributed to you. For now, you need to return. The Mayor wants to meet you,” the General spoke.

For the first half, Ronan’s eyes were practically glowing, but as for the second part, he gulped.

The General was but at the peak of the Sovereign Realm, meanwhile, the Mayor was a King Realm expert. He couldn’t help but remember the extra quest... being involved in the death of a King Realm expert.

”Ah... alright,” Ronan replied.

”But... our coins... I mean, the 6,000 coins...” Ronan added as the General’s face contorted.

”Basha!!!”

---

”Tch... stingy military...” Ronan muttered as he and the women returned to the city.

His mood was sunken like a child who had his sweets taken away from him, meanwhile, the two women chatted like sisters.

Ronan envied them. He even began to think of having a male as a Blood Servant next. Life as the weakest Ghoul was so lonely...

At this point, Ronan saw an image of a man with a long white beard standing naked at the top of a mountain as the cold wind blew around him, no humans in sight for the next thousand miles, as a tear fell down but quickly froze.

Sigh...

Ronan glanced back at Hesa. Looking at her again, he couldn’t help but observe her beauty... the long white hair... the slightly pale skin...

”Wait...”

”Hesa... put on your disguise.”

”Ah, Yen, you too...” Ronan was stunned. It seemed as soon as they left the war front, the two women removed their disguises. What if they were seen?

But after a glare from Hesa, Ronan kept quiet as they picked up speed, and once again, Ronan was...

Picked up by Yen in a princess carry, his eyes glued to his front.

He couldn’t help but remember the softness he felt before he woke up. He was feeling it here again.

Yen, oh Yen... you are amazing.

Finally, they returned to the military outpost as the Sergeant welcomed them with a smile.

And what Ronan feared happened. He was dragged to a long ”corporate” talk, but half of it was talking about Ronan’s good deeds, so it was still okay.

At this moment, the girls were back in their disguises as they were all led to the capital.

They had been here once after receiving their first pot of gold and enjoying a week-long vacation.

Now they were back, not as adventurers but as military personnel.

This time, they enjoyed the view of the capital, the large sky-rising buildings, the exquisite boutiques, the restaurants, and the constant sound of metal hitting another as the blacksmiths worked.

The smell of the herbs from the alchemists...

This was a thriving city...

And finally, a giant mansion. Around it were giant gates filled with statues of great men.

Guards patrolled as only other officials could enter, along with some nobles, and today...

They were led by the Sergeant as they entered.

Seeing it from outside, the black, sleek mansion was huge, but only when they entered did they realize how huge it was. And then... gold.

The bare ground was laid with gold, the surroundings obsidian, as Ronan gulped.

Rich... rich...

Fuck, he didn’t want to leave here, and the maids that greeted them, each could be called great beauties outside.

Not only their beautiful faces, but even their bodies were something. The guards were also at the Sovereign Realm, and the butlers were too.

This...

This power... fuck, how was he supposed to sacrifice this city?

Let’s say he was able to get the Mayor, who was a King Realm expert, away from the city somehow, but the amount of Sovereign Realm beings just in this mansion was a hurdle.

Not to talk of the head and ancestors of the noble family, which were all at the Sovereign Realm.

This...

Finally, they reached a large door.

”Please enter the study. The Mayor is waiting for you. This is where I will stop,” the Sergeant said as Ronan thanked him.

Taking a deep breath, he entered with the three.

But the instant he stepped into the study, he felt his whole body tense up instinctively, and all his focus was directed toward a corner in the room behind the shelves full of books.

Someone was there, waiting for them.

Not only him, but Yen and Hesa too. Their bodies were tense as they looked in the same direction...

The Mayor... even without any aura being released, could make them this tense?
