Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

When those events occurred just now in the forest in Albania, Lady Ravenclaw was there, wasn’t she?

She must have been there, but why didn’t she stop the Baron? Why did she just stand by and watch Helena be killed?

And what about that feeling Evan sensed on the diadem? That state of emotional detachment — what was that all about?

Was it really because she had no emotions that she could calmly accept her daughter’s death…?

Lady Ravenclaw seemed unwilling to say more. Figuring out these things had nothing to do with how to defeat the evil god and what Evan was going to do this time, but he couldn’t accept it emotionally. Even though he already knew that Lady Ravenclaw had no “emotions” and that all her thoughts were absolutely rational, Evan just felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t accept it, just like when he insisted on risking his life to save Malfoy, redeem Ron with friendship, give Peter Pettigrew a chance to repent, and so on.

Evan felt that he was the exact opposite of Lady Ravenclaw, who possessed “absolute wisdom”. He was too sentimental!

Especially at those critical moments, his intellect seemed to plummet.

Instead, he was driven by a chaotic mix of thoughts and feelings, often willing to take significant risks to prove a belief or live out a conviction he held dear.

Rationally speaking, it was completely childish to have these thoughts and actions, but Evan just couldn’t let go.

He had done a lot of “stupid things” because of this, and he might never become a powerful wizard like Lady Ravenclaw or Professor Dumbledore, but Evan felt that this was his true self, not what others thought he should be. …

He never thought that he was different from other people. He was just an ordinary person full of contradictions and willing to believe in beauty. But Evan never felt that there was anything wrong with himself. After all, this was who he was.

Whether it was good or bad, what Evan needed to do was to accept himself, rather than hate and change who he was.

Therefore, he was now very stubborn in trying to figure out what Lady Ravenclaw’s real thoughts were, even if it didn’t really matter.

“Professor!” Thinking of this, Evan raised his head and looked at Ravenclaw with a determined look, “You were just in that forest, weren’t you? You saw Helena being … done by the Baron, didn’t you? Why didn’t you stop it?!”

“Why do you think I didn’t stop it?” Ravenclaw asked back, her voice still calm.

“Because…” Evan paused, then spoke out his thoughts all at once, even though he knew that these words were rude and would offend Lady Ravenclaw, “because you have no emotions, no ability to feel, and you only use that cold absolute wisdom to think about the gains and losses, so Helena’s death will not make you sad or upset, even if she’s your daughter. To put it bluntly, you don’t care about her life or death. That’s why she has done everything possible to escape from Hogwarts. I heard her conversation with the Baron. Hogwarts made her feel stressed and painful. She hated this place. I think … I think this is wrong.”

Lady Ravenclaw quietly gazed at Evan, her expression showing no particular reaction.

“You are right, Evan, I also think this is wrong,” she said softly after a while.

Evan froze, not expecting such a response from Lady Ravenclaw.

He had imagined she might avoid the topic, refuse to discuss this unpleasant matter, or offer an explanation — perhaps something about a greater good that required sacrifices, much like what Professor Dumbledore might usually say. But he hadn’t expected Lady Ravenclaw to acknowledge it so frankly.

“I was not a competent mother, and I can’t even be considered a normal person. Helena’s departure and death are all related to me. I caused this outcome, I failed her,” Ravenclaw continued, her ethereal voice calm, as if she were talking about something other than her own. “I’ve always been accustomed to thinking in terms of achieving the optimal outcome, always believing that what I did would benefit Helena. But I never considered the pressure it put on her, nor her feelings. Because I don’t have feelings myself, I never realized that making the wisest decisions isn’t always the best approach.

“In this world, everything comes at a cost. I gained absolute wisdom, but the price was my emotions. From childhood to now, I’ve never felt emotion — no joy, no pain, no idea what love is, and no idea what hatred is. I don’t even experience normal sensations like the taste of sweetness or bitterness, or the feeling of heat, cold, or pain. I am like an observer watching this world from the outside, a soul housed in the body called Rowena Ravenclaw. No matter what happens in this world, it has nothing to do with me. …”

No sense of taste or touch either?

Evan hadn’t expected it to be so severe. He had thought Lady Ravenclaw simply lacked emotions.

But it wasn’t just that. It was all feelings, including the broader sense of physical sensations.

“Unlike those who lose their self-awareness, I cannot feel emotions, but I have gained absolute wisdom. This is a terrible combination, because without emotions, I can use my wisdom without restrictions and influences, not only in the study and research of magic, but also in dealing with people. I can easily understand other people’s thoughts and know why they react in certain ways. I didn’t need deliberate training. This is an innate talent. I can easily understand people’s emotions and know how to control them, even if those feelings are something I have never felt before,” said Ravenclaw. “I remember it very clearly. It should have been when I was four years old. After a short observation, I began to learn to imitate others and remember how to react correctly when encountering different things, so that I would not be so special, but more like an ordinary person. …

“I tried hard to imitate others, striving in my own way to integrate into the world. Yet my soul always stood apart, watching coldly. I knew that no matter what happened, it would never touch me inwardly, because I have no heart,” said Ravenclaw. “The magical bloodline of the Ravenclaw family is the source of the power of this ancient pure-blood Wizarding family. It is both a gift and a curse. Every member who inherits this talent will be trained to be the heir of the patriarch. Everyone in the family believes that this talent will make the Ravenclaw family more and more prosperous, but in their hearts they are afraid of family members who have inherited this talent. Even if they appear to be so concerned and happy on the surface, these emotions can be performed at a glance. These people, including my parents, are actually afraid of me and think I am a monster. …”
