Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Recently, Evan had studied demonology carefully and gained a lot of insights.

Since he couldn’t determine the nature of the demon in the demon altar, what it planned to do with the corpse, or how it intended to manifest, he concluded that preparing the corpse of a house-elf with its own weak soul was a necessary precaution. It would serve as a safeguard in case anything went wrong.

If something unexpected really happened, it would be easier to control.

Evan collected the body and took out a small bag of Gold Galleons and threw it to Mundungus.

Mundungus seemed to be extremely frightened. His right hand holding the wand was trembling slightly. He was panting in the biting cold wind. After getting the gold, he Disapparated without hesitation.

“What’s he so afraid of?”

“Maybe he’s scared we’ll tell someone about his stealing, but…” Hermione guessed.

“Let’s go to the Three Broomsticks,” Evan didn’t care what happened to Mundungus. As long as the deal was done, it was fine. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, thought for a moment, and then added, “Well, when you see Harry later, it’s best not to tell him about this. He’s had enough troubles recently.”

Harry would have been furious if he knew Mundungus had stolen from Sirius.

But it wouldn’t solve anything practical, and there was no need to add to his burdens.

In fact, that was exactly the case. As soon as Evan and the others walked into the pub, they saw a depressed Tonks sitting across from Harry in a corner. Neither of them spoke, standing out starkly against the lively atmosphere of the pub.

Tonks was still troubled over Lupin and clearly didn’t want to talk about it.

Not long after Evan, Hermione and Elaine sat down, she left, her thin frame looking particularly lonely.

As for Harry, perhaps because Tonks’s appearance had stirred some feelings in him, or for some other reason, he also sat there dully, staring at the flickering flames of the fireplace not far away, lost in thought…

At that moment, for no apparent reason, Harry thought of Ginny.

She wasn’t here, undoubtedly, thought Harry, because she and Dean were cozily closeted in Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop, that haunt of happy couples, or possibly at that other place Ron had mentioned.

“Harry, Harry!” Hermione’s voice rang out.

“What?” Harry snapped out of it, the scattered sparks in the fireplace regathering in his mind. Startled, he looked up at Evan, Hermione, and Elaine, who had appeared out of nowhere. “When did you get here? Where’s Tonks?”

“Just now, Tonks left. Is she okay?”

“Does she look okay to you?”

“Alright, then you don’t have any problems, right?” Hermione continued.

“No, I’m fine!” said Harry.

The two of them were acting strange. But in truth, it wasn’t just Harry and Tonks who seemed odd — everyone else did too.

Evan didn’t say much, he noticed that several wizards were staring at them.

He stood up and went to the bar to get a drink, looking around calmly.

There were quite a few people in the bar, not all of them were students, there were many unfamiliar wizards.

He was not sure whether they were sent by the Ministry of Magic, Voldemort’s spies, or some other force.

It was a really chaotic time right now, with the shadow of war looming over the Wizarding World.

As the core of this war, Hogwarts had received great attention from all parties.

Therefore, it was not surprising to see these strange wizards in Hogsmeade at this time.

While waiting for Madam Rosmerta to get his drinks, Evan saw Katie Bell walk out from the shadows at the bottom of the stairs. She seemed to be holding something in her arms. She didn’t say hello to Evan and went straight back to her seat. Ȑàℕ𝖔ＢÊ𝙎

Evan stared at Katie and her friend for a while, then turned his head and looked thoughtfully at the shadows under the stairs, where the girls’ bathroom was…

When he came back with three drinks, Hermione and Elaine were playing with the Pygmy Puff, trying to come up with a name for the little creature, and Harry had resumed staring absentmindedly at the flames in the nearby fireplace.

Evan exchanged a few simple words with Harry, but Harry didn’t seem very interested in talking.

Evan stopped trying to engage him and leaned back against the sofa, sipping his butterbeer in small sips. Casually, he began observing everyone in the bar.

He noted the two wizards who had been watching them earlier, another group of indistinct figures huddled in a corner, the Creevey brothers playing wizard cards not far away, Zabini lounging lazily against a pillar, and Katie Bell, quietly debating something with her friend…

Finally, his eyes fell on the shadows at the bottom of the stairs, swallowed by the darkness.

There, he felt the magical reaction and knew what kind of spell it was.

A simple Dark magic, but very effective and dangerous.

Evan withdrew his gaze. There was no one inside. The problem now was with Katie.

But looking at the lively bar, this kind of thing could not be resolved here. Evan didn’t want to make a big deal and let the entire Wizarding World know.

About ten minutes later, Evan suddenly said, “That’s all for today, let’s go back.”

“Wait, I haven’t finished yet!” Elaine shook the red drink in her hand.

“Stop drinking that!” Evan said. It was a cup of black tea with a lot of sugar and blood added.

The taste was strange, but the child drank it with relish. Someone who didn’t know better might even think she was drinking alcohol.

“But I don’t want to leave yet! I was planning on having another…”

“I just realized you’ve had way too much sugar today. You need to cut back — it’s bad for your health if you keep this up,” Evan replied. “How about this: if you want another drink, I’ll have to reconsider the candy you bought at Honeydukes and tonight’s dessert…”

“Everything stays the same!” Elaine said hurriedly, standing up all of a sudden, “I don’t want to drink anymore. Let’s go back right now!”

Harry and Hermione had no objection either, as they had both wanted to go back to school for a while.

Ron didn’t seem to have any intention of coming over to join them. It had not been a fun trip and the weather was getting worse the longer they stayed.

And so, the four of them drew their cloaks tightly around them, rearranged their scarves, pulled on their gloves, then followed Katie Bell and a friend out of the pub and back up the High Street, trudging up the road to Hogwarts through the frozen slush.

Ten minutes later, everyone turned a corner into a secluded road, and the rain and snow fell heavier and faster.

Suddenly, Evan stopped.

A strange sound was heard in front of them. They couldn’t tell whether it was the sound of the wind or someone screaming. The wind blew into their ears, carrying the sound with it. The sound became louder and sharper. At the end of the path stood two blurry figures. It was Katie and her friend. They were arguing fiercely.

“It’s nothing to do with you, Leanne!” Katie cried.

“No, we shouldn’t…” The sound of the wind drowned out Leanne’s voice, leaving only a whimpering sound.

A strong wind blew by and everyone squinted their eyes.

Leanne suddenly made to grab hold of the package Katie was holding; but Katie tugged it back and the package fell to the ground.

Evan didn’t hesitate and quickly ran towards the two of them…
