Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

A pale blue glow pulsed rhythmically, and with each complete flash, a surge of icy cold was released.

The cold air met the surrounding air, stirring up a large amount of white mist, which quickly spread around.

Even with the protection of magic, Evan could still feel a chill coming towards him.

At this moment, everything in the white mist seemed to be frozen.

Even the air seemed to be freezing.

Just as Evan was about to raise his wand, the bone-chilling cold abruptly dissipated.

Golden-red flames swirled out from Dumbledore’s wand, surrounding them and dispelling the chill.

Dumbledore stood at the front, with fire dancing in his eyes. He held his wand high like a torch, flames leaping from its tip. Under his control, the flames did not spread, but formed a protective ring that surrounded Evan and the others in the center.

He stared at the demon altar in the center, at the huge demon statue on it.

It was an eerie-looking house-elf, his skin a deep shade of blue, and his face did not have the familiar servile and ingratiating smile characteristic of house-elves. Instead, he had an unspeakable viciousness in it, and the corners of his mouth curled into a cold smirk.

“Is this the demon?”

“Evan, you made it sound so scary before. It’s nothing like the demon I imagined. It’s just a blue-skinned house-elf,” Elaine shuddered and stomped her feet. “It’s so cold!”

“I also said that demons can take many different forms,” said Evan.

“Honestly, he looks like he’s been poisoned,” Ron commented objectively.

“What was that cold breeze?” asked Harry.

“It’s the magical aura generated by the operation of the demon altar,” said Evan, also looking at the house-elf demon statue in the center. “It’s obvious that the magic of this blue house-elf demon is related to frost.”

“What should we do now?” Hermione asked. “I mean, how do we summon him?”

“Just put the prepared offerings on the stone platform in front,” Evan pointed to the huge platform in front of the demon statue, which was densely carved with ancient magic runes. He turned his head and looked at Dumbledore, “Sir?”

“Go ahead, Evan. You’ll be performing this magic. Do you have any issues?” said Dumbledore.

“No, it should be fine,” Evan nodded.

He had studied this demon-summoning magic many times recently and was very familiar with it.

Stepping forward, Evan placed the house-elf corpse he had recently acquired from Mundungus, along with other spellcasting materials, onto the massive stone platform in front of the statue.

According to the translation of these ancient runes, these materials were needed to summon the demon.

A burst of piercing white mist rose from the altar again, and the surrounding atmosphere grew increasingly solemn.

Even though this house-elf demon looked far from what one might expect of a true demon, Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Elaine all watched Evan’s movements nervously, staring with bated breath, looking careful and alert, bracing themselves for his arrival.

After placing everything on the stone platform, Evan looked back at Dumbledore.

Then, he touched the tip of his wand to the stone’s surface.

He began to recite softly the last section of ancient magic words on the stone platform, which was a spell to summon the demon.

Along with the sound, blue light began to emerge from the tip of his wand, like ripples on water.

Soon, the halos merged with the altar, converging into the gemstones and magic patterns on it. The temperature around him seemed to become even lower, and Evan watched as the house-elf’s lifeless body, which had been resting on the platform, slowly levitated into the air, rotating at a steady angle.

His magic had fused with the altar’s enchantments; power flowing, the ritual progressing.

Above the demon statue, a cloud of smoke was condensing, forming what seemed like a gateway to another world.

Evan raised his head, straining to see clearly.

At the heart of the swirling cloud lay a deep, unfathomable darkness; a boundless void, the realm of demons.

The next second, flashes of sapphire light burst forth, crackling like bolts of lightning. One after another, they streaked from the cloud, converging upon the floating elf’s corpse; his skin rapidly shifted to a deep shade of blue.

A blue-skinned house-elf … a Smurf?!

But the transformation was more than just a change in color; it was altering his very presence and demeanor.

As the magic progressed, the dead house-elf now looked more and more like the demon in the statue.

The incantation was not particularly long, and Evan finished chanting quickly. He knew he had succeeded.

Because after he said the last byte, a strange voice sounded in his ears.

It was sharp and high-pitched, eerily similar to a house-elf’s voice, yet it belonged to the demon.

“Who are you? Why have you summoned me?” he asked.

As the voice sounded, the eyes of the house-elf corpse, whose appearance had completely changed, snapped open.

He stood upright on the stone platform, looking at Evan in front of him.

Evan could clearly see that the pair of eyes in front of him were completely blue and had no eyeballs.

This was the color of magic. The corpse had been given new life by magic, and a demon was living inside it.

“I summoned you!” Evan paused briefly before continuing, “I am a student of Hogwarts —”

“What do I see? A group of wizards from Hogwarts. Interesting, interesting,” said the demon in a shrill voice, staring at Evan with his blue lightbulb eyes. “Hogwarts, huh, so much time has passed, I thought this school no longer existed. Have you summoned me to pledge yourselves as my servants? If you are willing to offer your souls, I may consider it.”

“No, we just want to ask you a few questions,” said Dumbledore calmly.

“Ask me a few questions?” he turned his gaze to Dumbledore, and shrank back, looking at Dumbledore and the flame at the tip of the wand with fear, but he soon returned to normal, “So you are asking for my help? Unless you pay a price that satisfies me, I will not help you. And stop your magic, wizard, I don’t like this feeling, you are beginning to irritate me.”

Dumbledore did not answer, but instead extended his wand forward.

The flames that had been encircling Evan and the others surged outward, forming a massive, searing lasso that closed around the house-elf demon.

Trapped within the fiery ring, the demon panicked, twisting and turning in an attempt to escape the encroaching fire…

“I believe you are mistaken about one thing,” said Dumbledore gently. “This is not a request.”
