Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

“You’d better make up your mind as soon as possible and decide on your date for the party,” Hermione suggested. “That way, at least half of the girls out there will give up on you. If you’re not going to choose one of them, don’t let them have any expectations.”

At this moment, they were sitting in the library, so Hermione’s voice was very low.

Harry didn’t want to stay in the common room and disturb Ron and Lavender, so he found an excuse to come here to find Evan, Hermione and Elaine without telling Ron. At least the atmosphere here wouldn’t be so awkward, and he could finish his homework at the same time.

“Do you have someone in mind?” Evan asked, flipping through a copy of Advanced Potion-Making.

“No!” Harry shook his head. “I haven’t decided who to invite yet.”

“What about Cho? Haven’t you always liked her?” said Evan. “I heard from Luna that she’s single now.”

He had barely finished when Hermione kicked him under the table, causing Evan to gasp.

They hadn’t seen much of Cho Chang since she and Harry broke up after their failed date.

The girl was clearly avoiding them, even keeping a low profile during D.A. meetings.

But this was a sore subject for Harry, and Evan shouldn’t have brought it up so bluntly. Besides, Hermione had never been particularly fond of Cho.

In her words, that girl was too ambitious!

This was really a weird evaluation, what did too ambitious mean? But if Harry and Cho got back together…

“No, I don’t think so, I’ll find a companion as soon as possible,” Harry said absentmindedly, showing no particular reaction. He bent a little lower over Advanced Potion-Making and continued to make notes on Everlasting Elixirs, occasionally pausing to decipher the Prince’s useful additions to Libatius Borage’s text.

“It’s your decision, and incidentally,” said Hermione., “you need to be careful.”

“For the last time,” said Harry impatiently, “I am not giving back this book, I’ve learned more from the Half-Blood Prince than from Snape and Slughorn combined. Besides, Evan is also reading it…”

“I’m not talking about your stupid so-called Prince,” said Hermione, giving his book a nasty look as though it had been rude to her. “I still want to talk about your date for the party. And you, Evan, you’d better listen up too.”

“What?”

“I went into the girls’ bathroom just before I came in here and there were about a dozen girls in there, trying to decide how to slip you a love potion. They’re all hoping they’re going to get one of you to take them to Slughorn’s party, and they all seem to have bought Fred and George’s love potions, which I’m afraid to say probably work —”

“Goodness, why didn’t you confiscate them then?” demanded Harry. It seemed extraordinary that Hermione’s mania for upholding rules could have abandoned her at this crucial juncture. “You should have confiscated them, they’re too dangerous!”

“That’s right, What if we get tricked??” Evan followed.

“They didn’t have the potions with them in the bathroom. They were just discussing tactics. I couldn’t confiscate them. Their main target is you, Harry,” said Hermione scornfully, shooting Evan a sharp look. “And don’t tell me you’d actually fall for those Love Potions.”

“Well, you never know. Fred and George’s Love Potions are high-grade — colorless, tasteless, very hard to…” Evan’s voice trailed off as Hermione shot him a look that clearly said, Go on, I dare you. Keep talking and see what happens.

Instinctively, Evan reached up to touch his ear. Ever since that Quidditch practice when he had transformed into a cat to comfort Hermione, she had developed a habit of rubbing cat ears. To be honest, it didn’t really hurt, but it was embarrassing.

I’m not a cat. I’m not a cat. I’m not a cat! Important things needed to be repeated three times.

“Well, I got a list from Fred of all the Love Potions they’ve sold at Hogwarts. I doubt whether even the Half-Blood Prince could dream up an antidote for a dozen different love potions at once.” At this point, Hermione gave the book another nasty look. “So just be careful what you drink. And Hurry up and invite someone to go with you, that’ll stop all the others thinking they’ve still got a chance. I’m not joking, Harry. It’s tomorrow night, they’re getting desperate.”

“Okay, okay!” said Harry, seeming genuinely frightened.

At this moment, he inexplicably thought of Ginny again.

He shook his head vigorously, telling himself to try not to think about Ginny, even though she kept cropping up in his dreams.

“You’re not thinking about inviting Ginny, are you?” said Evan in a drawn-out tone, pulling Harry’s drifting thoughts right back.

Clang, Harry knocked over his ink bottle, making a loud noise.

Hermione waved her wand hastily, and all the spilled ink vanished instantly.

“What did you just say?!” Harry looked at Evan in shock and broke out in a cold sweat.

Then he quickly lowered his head, not daring to look at Evan.

He hadn’t mastered Occlumency under Snape, but he knew how to avoid Legilimency and not to meet someone’s eyes.

At this moment, Harry really suspected that Evan had used Legilimency on him.

Could Evan do that? He probably could.

“Nothing, I was just talking casually, why are you so excited?” said Evan, with the corners of his mouth slightly curved up.

He suddenly found Harry’s behavior very interesting. Judging from his overreaction, Harry must have been thinking about Ginny.

“I just zoned out!” Harry hurried to change the subject. “By the way, Hermione, hadn’t Filch banned anything bought at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes?”

“Obviously. But when has anyone ever paid attention to what Filch has banned?” said Hermione casually.

After cleaning up the spilled ink, she pulled the long scroll of parchment upward on the table and quickly resumed her Arithmancy essay.

“Honestly, Harry, I should show you the sales of Fred and George’s shop if I get a chance,” said Evan. “It’s a miracle. I just found out that this stuff makes more than newspaper advertising fees.”

After seeing the amazing sales of the Twins’ Joke Shop in the past six months, Evan had to admit that publishing a newspaper was really not profitable. He had always thought he was rich for a while. The sales of joke products produced by Fred and George were amazing. The key point was that they not only sold joke products, but also various protective magic items. After receiving the order from the Ministry of Magic and sending out the first batch of goods, their products were completely sold.

Wizards were snapping them up like they were free. These products were far superior to the overpriced, useless anti-jinx charms being peddled on the market.

It was no exaggeration to say that Fred and George’s shop was now the most profitable store in Diagon Alley.

From time to time, Evan sent some of his alchemical research results to Fred and George to keep the products innovative.

Judging from the feedback they received, the new products were selling very well, and they had hired nearly two hundred house-elves to keep up with production.
