Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

“You and Evan didn’t experience it because you two were late. Actually, on the first day of school, when we got into the entrance hall, Filch ran over all of us with Secrecy Sensors, including our luggage,” Hermione explained. “Any Dark object would have been found, I know for a fact Crabbe had a shrunken head confiscated. So, you see, Malfoy can’t have brought anything dangerous into the school. Even the owl post isn’t exempt — they’re being checked too. Filch told us so when he was jabbing those Secrecy Sensors everywhere he could reach, and the Ministry sent special personnel to assist him.”

Harry was speechless. If things were really as Hermione said, then Malfoy really had no way of bringing dangerous or Dark magic items into the school.

He looked at Evan and Ron expectantly, but got no response.

In fact, Evan was thinking about other things. This conversation reminded him that if Malfoy really intended to use the Vanishing Cabinet, then he and Hermione could not occupy the Room of Requirement for a long time. When someone was inside, other people outside could not get in!

He was going to find a new place to date Hermione and give the Room of Requirement to Malfoy so that he could repair the Vanishing Cabinet.

Luckily, as long as Evan and Hermione had a private space, it didn’t matter where it was — even if it was inside a cauldron, Evan figured he’d still enjoy his weekends. The key was that all the guys who could disturb them would have gone to Quidditch practice at that time.

After making sure that Evan and Ron would not speak for him or come up with any good ideas, Harry’s gaze naturally turned to the side, watching Elaine and Ginny playing with Arnold the Pygmy Puff. From time to time, a very thin pink tongue emerged from his spherical body, stretching out like a snake’s.

What a strange creature, Harry thought.

If he had some fangs and sharp teeth, he might be the type Hagrid would love, but the way the Pygmy Puff looked now, only cute girls would like him.

Harry wasn’t sure if he was staring at the Pygmy Puff or at Ginny as she played with him…

His thoughts grew increasingly scattered, drifting further from Malfoy’s supposed plot, leaving only the image of the cute “Puff” and the girl playing with him.

It wasn’t until Hermione said that Dumbledore hadn’t shown up again today that he snapped back to reality!

Yes, Dumbledore had disappeared again. Where did he go? What was he doing?

Since that private lesson, Evan hadn’t seen Dumbledore in weeks.

The Headmaster rarely appeared at meals, and the Marauder’s Map confirmed that he was not even at Hogwarts.

Harry had discussed the lesson and the memories they’d seen with Evan several times since. He had many ideas and theories, some accurate and others far from the truth. Apart from Evan, Harry had no one else to confide in or share his thoughts with.

Dumbledore had told him before that these lessons and memories were ultimately leading to something to do with the prophecy.

Harry had felt bolstered, comforted, and now he felt slightly abandoned.

Evan couldn’t and had no way to explain too much. He thought about it for a few days and finally decided to recommend a few books to Harry.

Among them, there were those about prophecies, those about death, and historical records about Grindelwald.

He felt that it was secondary for Harry to understand the prophecy or improve his strength. What Harry needed to know more now was the true meaning of death, and know what kind of people his destined enemy Voldemort and the mastermind of all this, Dumbledore, were. Since there were almost no books on the market about the growth of Voldemort and Dumbledore, he should learn more about Grindelwald. By studying Grindelwald clearly, he would be able to know a general idea of Dumbledore’s first half of his life.

Sometimes Evan mused that rather than being the first Dark Lord, Grindelwald represented Dumbledore’s darker impulses.

Dumbledore was willing to sacrifice everything for the greater good, and finally gave up these evil thoughts and became the current headmaster.

In order to finally defeat Voldemort, what Harry needed to do now was not to improve his strength, but to sublimate and grow his spirit and thoughts, until he had enough courage to face death, knew the true meaning of death, and would not lose himself in the aftermath.

This time, Sirius hadn’t died unexpectedly, so Harry still had a long way to go to understand this.

As for the rest, they were handed over to Evan and Dumbledore. Dumbledore was responsible for the overall plan, while Evan was responsible for finding the secret treasure left by the Four Founders and preventing the evil god from coming. If the terrible evil god really came…

This was roughly the current division of labor, with Dumbledore planning everything and controlling the overall situation.

Harry’s destined enemy was Voldemort. This was mentioned in the prophecy and could not be changed. Only one of them could survive.

Evan, on the other hand, pursued the legacies of the four founders, following Lady Ravenclaw’s and the Titan of Time’s directives to prevent the evil god from coming into this world.

One thing nagged at Evan, though: he felt Ravenclaw was withholding something from him or perhaps omitting key details. The ancient war between the Titans and the Old Dominators, the true method for entering that realm, and the way to defeat an evil god’s corporeal form — were these matters unrelated to him? It seemed unlikely…

Time flew, and in the blink of an eye it was October.

Halfway through October came their first trip of the term to Hogsmeade.

Everyone had wondered whether these trips would still be allowed, given the increasingly tight security measures around the school, but were pleased to know that they were going ahead.

After being stuck in school for so long, it was always good to get out of the castle and relax, even for just a few hours.

So, everyone was in high spirits.

This was a rare happy atmosphere since the beginning of the term, but it didn’t last long. The next morning, when Evan and Colin walked into the Hall, he saw Hermione looking at Harry with a cold face and dissatisfaction. What had happened?!

“You’re overthinking this, Hermione, I thought it was hilarious,” Ron said nonchalantly as usual. “You weren’t there to see it. Nothing dangerous happened — it was just a flash of light, and I landed on the bed again, and everyone thought it was great.”

“That’s not funny at all. It sounds dangerous. You were lucky to fall back onto the bed instead of breaking your neck,” said Hermione, not even glancing at Ron but staring sternly at Harry. “Was this spell, by any chance, another one from that potion book of yours?”

“Always jump to the worst conclusion, don’t you?” Harry frowned, already knowing what she was going to say.

“Was it?” Hermione insisted.

“Well … yeah, it was, but so what?”

“So what?! So you decided to try an unknown, handwritten incantation and see what would happen?”

“What does it matter if it’s handwritten?” said Harry, preferring not to answer the rest of the question.

“Because it’s probably not Ministry of Magic-approved. And also sounds dangerous and does not seem like decent magic,” as Harry and Ron rolled their eyes she added, “To be frank, I’m starting to think this Prince character was a bit dodgy.”
