Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

“Are you sure this guy is a real vampire? How could he eat this thing?!” Elaine asked suspiciously.

“He should be… I guess,” Evan said hesitantly. He also found the guy unreliable, but he didn’t want to show it in front of Elaine. “Didn’t I just tell you? Whether someone is a real vampire does not depend on what they eat or their aura. The key is…”

“Biting people!” Elaine drawled.

“Yeah, I think this guy is pretty impressive. Not only can he bite people, but he can also eat pasties. This shows that he has strong adaptability and is not picky about food,” said Evan casually. “Elaine, you definitely won’t eat these things, would you?”

Elaine was stunned for a moment, then nodded reluctantly.

“So, you still have a long way to go before you become a real vampire,” said Evan hopefully.

He actually hoped that Elaine could eat something else, not just drink dragon’s blood, and not be so picky about food.

Real vampires didn’t really only drink blood; like Sanguini, they also ate other foods.

Besides, even if one insisted on drinking blood and nothing else, did it have to be dragon’s blood?

This thing was so expensive, he could hardly afford it. Elaine’s appetite was simply like a bottomless pit.

“Alright, stop talking nonsense,” Hermione nudged Evan lightly. Elaine seemed to be taking his words seriously.

What was wrong with this child? She wasn’t supposed to be this naive.

Among this group of people, Elaine was definitely the darkest one, but she was indeed quite ignorant sometimes…

It wasn’t hard to understand. After all, the way Elaine had been raised and the things she had been exposed to growing up were nothing like a normal person’s.

So, despite being incredibly sharp, she occasionally got tripped up by basic common sense.

“I want to be a real vampire!” she said.

“Then work hard for it , you can start with food…” Evan suddenly stopped. He realized Elaine was staring at him. The way she was looking at him felt strange. He swallowed nervously and forcibly changed the subject. “In my heart, you have long been a real vampire, the strongest and cutest vampire. You don’t need to do anything to prove yourself.”

“But I’ve never bitten anyone!”

“Uh, Colin, don’t you want to invite your companion for a dance? Boys need to take the initiative,” said Evan, pretending not to hear Elaine’s words. “Honestly, let’s not stand here stupidly and just have a drink. Don’t worry about Harry, Luna, he’ll come to find us in a while. Ah, I saw the Weird Sisters, Hermione, don’t you like them very much? I like their songs too. This is a rare opportunity, let’s go over and get an autograph.”

He wiped the sweat off his face and pushed Hermione and Luna into the crowd. Ginny and Dean had already started dancing.

Colin stood there, looking at Elaine in awe, unsure whether he should ask her to dance.

After hesitating for a while, he finally made the invitation when a cheerful tune sounded, and Elaine did not refuse.

In a blink of an eye, only Harry and Worple were left there, still forcibly discussing The Life of Harry Potter.

“Harry, my dear boy, if we cooperate, the gold you could make, you have no idea —”

“I’m definitely not interested,” said Harry firmly, “and I need to find my friends, sorry.”

With that, he hurried off toward Evan, Hermione, and Luna.

He was quick, for he had just spotted Slughorn scanning the crowd, clearly searching for him.

By the time Hermione got the autograph, Harry came running over breathlessly. He pointed in a direction and said, “This is getting ridiculous, isn’t it? Slughorn is looking for us again. He probably wants to introduce us to someone. Let’s go over there and find a quiet place to spend the next few hours.”

The four of them made their way over to the other side of the room, scooping up goblets of mead on the way.

But it turned out to be a poor choice of direction, and by the time they realized that Professor Trelawney was standing there alone, it was too late.

Slughorn had invited Professor Trelawney. Although she was so unreliable, her family was still very famous in the Wizarding World, especially her famous ancestor, the Seer Cassandra Trelawney.

“Hello, professor,” said Luna politely. Unlike Evan, Harry and Hermione, she had always been fond of Divination.

“Good evening, my dear,” said Professor Trelawney, focusing upon Luna with some difficulty. She smelled strongly cooking sherry. “Fate has led us to meet tonight, but I haven’t seen you in class lately…”

“No, I’ve got Firenze this year,” said Luna.

“Oh, of course,” said Professor Trelawney with an angry, drunken titter. “Or Dobbin, as I prefer to think of him. You would have thought, would you not, that now I am returned to the school Professor Dumbledore might have got rid of the horse? But no … we share classes. … It’s an insult, frankly, an insult. Do you know …”

Professor Trelawney seemed too tipsy to have recognized the others, and clinging to Luna, she fiercely criticized Firenze.

Evan and the others had just gotten rid of Slughorn and the troublesome Elaine. He didn’t see the point in spending the rest of the evening listening to Trelawney’s not-so-fair evaluation of Firenze. He tugged Hermione’s sleeve and took a few steps back.

It was probably a good time to slip away. Even though Slughorn had used an Extension Charm on his office, it still felt crowded with so many people packed in. The castle, decorated by Hagrid, had an atmosphere just as festive — but more importantly, it was quiet enough and undisturbed.

Evan planned to take the rare opportunity of having such a beautifully dressed Hermione all to himself — to do something that everyone loved to do.

But before he could make a move, Cormac McLaggen pushed his way through the crowd.

He came to talk to Harry about Quidditch, as he was still upset about not being selected.

From what he did not long ago, it could be seen that he had not given up, and was preparing to replace Ron as Gryffindor’s Keeper.

This annoying guy was going to use this opportunity to have a good emotional communication with Harry.

He called out the names of Evan, Harry, and Hermione, which immediately alerted Professor Trelawney to the fact that Evan Mason and Harry Potter were right in front of her.

“Evan Mason, Harry Potter!” Professor Trelawney interrupted McLaggen with her deep, vibrant tones, so loud that it could be heard by most of the room.

“Oh, hello,” said Harry unenthusiastically.

“Good evening, Professor!” Evan followed, and Hermione snorted and said nothing.

She had a long-standing grudge against Trelawney, but the professor acted as if she didn’t exist.

“My dear boys, I am glad to see you!” she said, her voice soft but far-reaching. “I have been meaning to tell you that in the past year I have seen countless omens of the terrible Dark Lord and of what you have done. Yes, I know everything.”

The room gradually fell silent. At this time, everyone was particularly sensitive about Voldemort’s affairs.

Especially since these words were spoken by a Seer, everyone was very interested.

Not everyone knew that Professor Trelawney was a fraud, and not everyone was dismissive of Divination.
