Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Evan had no time to be surprised, as the distance between his neck and Elaine’s teeth was just a little bit.

At the last moment, he quickly pulled out a pillow to block Elaine’s sudden attack. Elaine’s face hit it, and almost immediately, she started writhing and struggling, trying to break free from Evan’s defense.

Because of her movements, the four-poster bed made creaking sounds, which were unusually obvious in the dark and quiet dormitory.

“Evan, is that you back?” Colin’s voice came from the bed next to his.

“Ah, um, yeah, I’m back!” Evan quickly wrapped his arms around Elaine, holding her still and trying to calm her down. This girl was crazy!

He didn’t know whether the other four people in the dormitory knew that Elaine was here. If they knew, it would definitely spread like wildfire throughout the school.

By then, all kinds of rumors would definitely spread.

Exhausting, exhausting, exhausting. Just thinking about it made Evan not want to think anymore.

As for the actual truth? No one would care. People would fill in the blanks themselves, creating their own versions of the “facts” and unspeakable details.

Even if Hermione wouldn’t take it seriously or care, Evan still felt responsible for maintaining his good reputation. Besides, what kind of situation was this — getting attacked by a vampire in the middle of the night?

Couldn’t Hogwarts’ protective magic be a little more reliable? Why could girls just waltz into the boys’ dormitory like this…?

“What are you doing? What’s that noise?” Colin continued to ask curiously.

“Nothing, just some exercise,” said Evan, struggling to move the pillow under his arm bit by bit.

He had just felt the touch of Elaine’s teeth on his forearm, and this little menace had actually been about to bite him.

“Ohhh,” Colin drawled in response, as if he suddenly understood something. He didn’t ask any further, simply accepting the explanation…

This answer was actually quite normal, wasn’t it? Many boys had the urge to exercise late at night occasionally, and there was nothing strange about it.

Although Evan’s movements were a little loud, at this moment, he truly was fighting Elaine with all his might.

As the two of them struggled, the creaking of the four-poster bed and their muffled sounds continued.

“Stop making trouble and talk properly!” Evan whispered harshly. This wasn’t going anywhere. “Otherwise, don’t ask me for candy ever again.”

Elaine’s body visibly stiffened for a moment, then she stopped, giving in.

“What on earth is going on? This is the boys’ dormitory!” said Evan. “This is my bed!”

“I know,” Elaine replied.

“Keep your voice down and talk under the covers,” said Evan. Colin was still awake, and who knew if the other three were, too?

He pressed Elaine’s head down and crawled into the thick quilt.

“You know, and you still dared to come?! I mean, what are you doing on my bed in the middle of the night?” Evan demanded.

“Bite you,” Elaine’s answer was simple, “and then become a real vampire.”

Evan didn’t know what to say. Why did he ever joke around with Elaine about things like this? And on such a sensitive topic, no less.

“Just for that?”

“And you left me there tonight,” said Elaine without hesitation. “I want revenge. Uncle taught me before.”

“Sorry, we got caught up in something important — it had to do with Snape and Malfoy, you know. By the time we got back, you were already gone,” Evan explained, now fully aware of the consequences of offending her. “Wait, no one saw you come in, right?”

“No, I used magic,” said Elaine. Now she was very close to Evan.

Since both of them were inside the blanket, the temperature under the covers had risen rapidly.

Evan could even feel Elaine’s breath, just inches away.

Though she was certainly pretty, he felt absolutely no trace of romance at this moment, because Elaine was truly, genuinely capable of biting him. The spot on his arm where she had bitten earlier was still throbbing with pain. Now that things had settled down, he realized it hurt even more.

It was probably bleeding. He must have scraped his skin when he yanked his arm out of her mouth — her fangs were just too sharp.

“Hmm, I smell something nice,” Elaine suddenly said, sniffing the air. “It’s food — no, better than food. It’s candy!”

Without further ado, she moved a little closer to Evan. The next second, Evan felt a cold touch on his right forearm.

“Hey, hey, what are you doing?” said Evan. “Don’t bite me, in my heart, you’re already a real vampire!”

Elaine ignored him, only making sucking sounds. She wasn’t biting, she was licking…

Once, twice, the soft tongue rubbed across his skin.

Evan didn’t move, letting Elaine lick his arm. He finally figured it out, since the blood was already flowing out, just let her lick it.

It would be a waste not to lick it. No one except Elaine would be interested in his blood.

If this would calm her down, all the better.

What was happening now was too weird. Evan needed a moment to collect himself, and this was as good an opportunity as any to think about how to get rid of this troublemaker.

It was dark under the covers and they couldn’t see anything. Fortunately, otherwise the two of them would be in an awkward position.

After about a few dozen seconds, Elaine stopped and said, “No more!”

“The wound has solidified. Stop licking it,” said Evan, pulling his arm back. It still stung a little, and the spot where she had licked felt cool. “Alright, you bit me, so you’re now officially a real vampire. I bled, so you’ve had your revenge. Happy now?”

“Mm,” Elaine hesitated for a moment. “I do feel a lot better. I’m going back to sleep now — so sleepy!”

“Don’t just walk out like this! Use magic!” Evan stopped her.

“I forgot my wand in my dorm!” said Elaine, who was just wearing pajamas.

Evan sighed and leaned out from the curtains of his four-poster bed, searching among the clothes thrown on the floor for his wand.

Just now, he had been too groggy and forgot to take his wand out when he took off his coat.

When he finally found it, he gave Elaine a firm tap on the head — Disillusionment Charm!

Her body changed rapidly, blending seamlessly into the surroundings.

With another sweeping wave of his wand, Evan cast a distraction spell to ensure his roommates wouldn’t notice Elaine.

If someone still managed to see her, he’d have no choice but to use a Confundus Charm or an Obliviate.

Fortunately, it didn’t come to that, and Elaine left Evan’s dormitory smoothly without being discovered.

In the darkness, Evan breathed a sigh of relief and lay weakly on the bed.

For a long while, he lay still before finally raising his arm to his lips, licking the spot where Elaine had bitten him.

It really hurt.
