God's Imitator

In the evening, Wang Yongxin and Yang Yuting came to the small room on the third floor once again.

Yang Yuting sighed silently, ”I’m sorry. This result was beyond my expectations, and probably beyond yours as well.

”When I suggested giving the power to recruit people to Lawyer Lin alone, it was also an on-the-spot adaptation. I completely didn’t expect that Lawyer Lin would actually bring someone back in this very game.

”Not only did he recruit someone, but it’s also a God’s Imitator. Not only a God’s Imitator, but also one whose philosophy is very close to the five-person group.

”This is almost the most difficult situation for you to accept, right?

”After all, Wei Yinzhang’s identity is special. God’s Imitators naturally possess information advantages and have games with sufficient weight. Entering the core circle is a matter of course.

”The positions in the core circle are becoming fewer and fewer. For you, it’s even harder to enter.

”Our community is getting stronger and stronger, but also more and more chaotic.”

Wang Yongxin actually looked relatively calm, without any signs of emotional breakdown.

”This is normal, isn’t it? The strong get stronger. Between communities, there will inevitably be the ’Matthew effect.’”Those weaker communities have slow internal integration, poor performance in games, many deaths, and can’t recruit any strong players, so they can only keep being cannon fodder.

”While stronger communities quickly complete internal integration, have high returns and low mortality rates in games. Even if individual players die, they quickly recruit suitable candidates or poach strong players from other communities.

”It’s very reasonable for Community 17 to have reached its current state.

”After all, from beginning to end, our community’s power core has been very stable, and there are quite a few core players who can lead teams in games.

”Although the power distribution may not be perfect, we’re in a growth phase after all. The pie is getting bigger and bigger, so these contradictions can all be covered up.”

Actually, the so-called contradictions mainly resided with Wang Yongxin.

As one of the core players who could lead teams, he had also brought back large amounts of visa time for the community, but still hadn’t obtained sufficient political power. However, Wang Yongxin could also benefit from Community 17’s stable political environment. Staying was still the better choice.

So one couldn’t say there was too much of a problem with this power distribution. After all, power itself was a scarce resource. However it was distributed, someone would be dissatisfied. As long as it didn’t cause too serious consequences, it couldn’t be considered wrong.

Wang Yongxin paused slightly, then said, ”On this matter, you did nothing wrong.

”Giving the power to recruit to Lawyer Lin is better than giving it to Li Renshu. I completely agree with your plan.

”As for this final recruitment result...

”I actually feel this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, whether for the community or for me.”

This surprised Yang Yuting somewhat.

”But Wei Yinzhang is a God’s Imitator. She will inevitably enter the power core. Doesn’t this mean your position in the queue is even further back?”

Wang Yongxin shook his head slightly, ”Not necessarily.

”Theoretically speaking, Wei Yinzhang as a God’s Imitator should enter the power core, but in reality it’s very likely not the case.

”Her addition will indeed increase the power of the core, but structurally it’s not an optimization.

”Not only will this core not become more stable, but it will become even more fragile.”

Yang Yuting thought seriously for a moment, ”You mean the issue of numbers?

”The entire community has 12 people in total. The core circle can have at most 5 people. If Wei Yinzhang goes in, the number would exceed that.

”But this matter is easy to solve, right? Just kick Fu Chen out.

”Anyway, I feel Fu Chen has long wanted to leave this core group. He’s been inside all along without playing any key role.”

Wang Yongxin shook his head, ”It’s not that simple. Fu Chen absolutely cannot be kicked out.

”Perhaps Fu Chen himself wants to quit this small group, but Li Renshu would absolutely not agree.

”There’s even this possibility, in Li Renshu’s view, Fu Chen’s value is higher than Wei Yinzhang’s.

”I’ve already said before, choosing this power core isn’t completely based on ability.

”If it were only based on ability, Fu Chen wouldn’t have been selected from the start. Since this is a political core, naturally it looks at political influence.”

Yang Yuting didn’t quite understand, ”Political influence... Does Fu Chen have any special political influence?”

Wang Yongxin explained, ”In any game, regardless of how dangerous, as long as someone asks him for help, he will very likely enter. Do you think in our entire community, is there anyone else who can do this?”

Yang Yuting thought for a moment, ”Lawyer Lin? Or perhaps the late Aunt Su? Or Officer Cao?”

Wang Yongxin decisively shook his head, ”The three people you mentioned only ’possibly’ could, but absolutely couldn’t reach Fu Chen’s level.

”Aunt Su actually had an ’ending it all’ escapist mentality. She just wanted to escape this place and help others before dying. But looking at it afterwards, the visa time she exchanged with her death actually wasn’t that much.

”She made this kind of behavior after losing her will to live.

”Lawyer Lin appears willing to enter every game, but that’s because he’s strong enough and hasn’t encountered opponents who truly threaten him.

”But if Lawyer Lin realizes that ’helping others might lead to his own death,’ would he still help? I think very likely not.

”From the ecological niche Lawyer Lin chose for himself in the community, you can also see that although he doesn’t compete for the power core, he doesn’t stay far from the power core either. Sometimes he even strengthens his self-preservation abilities on this basis.

”Lawyer Lin’s help to others is more of a casual handout from the strong to the weak, not sacrifice.

”As for Officer Cao, I think he should be between Fu Chen and Lawyer Lin.

”But in any case, players like Fu Chen who are willing to help everyone and rarely consider their own risks are extremely scarce in the New World.

”He’s actually the adhesive of the entire core team, and can also be seen as some kind of barometer.

”As long as Fu Chen is still in this small group, those outside the small group don’t need to worry too much.

”But if Fu Chen is kicked out, that would be a very bad signal. Perhaps it would represent some kind of deterioration in this small group.

”I can think of this point, and of course Li Renshu can think of it too.

”So Fu Chen can’t be kicked out, and the remaining four people in the five-person group even more so can’t be kicked out.

”The greatest possibility is that each person in the five-person group squeezes out a little bit of power from their hands to symbolically give to Wei Yinzhang, but it’s impossible to truly let her enter this core.”

Yang Yuting frowned slightly, ”But... Wei Yinzhang is a God’s Imitator. From a long-term perspective, she must enter the power core. This is determined by her special identity.

”If she doesn’t enter and can’t get sufficient say, perhaps it’s okay in the short term, but problems will definitely arise over time.”
