God's Imitator

Wei Yinzhang continued, ”I’ve gotten a bit off-track. Let’s talk about the specific mechanisms between God’s Imitators and Gallery invitations later. Let me finish talking about Community 6 first.

”Setting aside my Imitator identity, I’m not really a clever player.

”If I could have a lot of time for preparation and thinking in advance, that would be fine. But if I encounter very complex unfamiliar rules in a short period, I’m not much different from an ordinary Fool.

”In distribution-type games like ’Blood Poker,’ I was even tricked out of some chips.

”So originally in Community 6, I was in a rather marginalized position.

”The core players of Community 6 lean more toward elitism, and from the very beginning, they had very strong hostility toward ’God’s Imitators.’

”So after I entered the community, I kept hiding my identity and didn’t want to be exposed. In that environment, exposing my ’Imitator’ identity was a dangerous thing.”

Zheng Jie was somewhat puzzled, ”Is that how it was? Completely different from what I imagined... I thought Sister Wei was in a commanding position in her original community...

”But after this game, if Lawyer Lin hadn’t invited you, you should have still returned to Community 6, right? So had you prepared to reveal yourself?”

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Mm, I originally did have plans to reveal myself in Community 6.”I considered it this way:

”First, my Imitator identity might not be able to stay hidden forever. Because hiding one’s identity is a very exhausting thing. In daily life, it’s also very possible to say something wrong or accidentally expose information that only God’s Imitators would know, arousing suspicion.

”Moreover, as time passes, God’s Imitators can gain extra visa time, which is also a major point of suspicion.

”If I couldn’t keep it hidden and ended up being discovered, that would arouse even greater suspicion.

”It’s best to choose an ’appropriate opportunity’ to actively reveal my identity.

”And this ’appropriate opportunity’ would actually be after an ’excellent game.’”

Li Renshu quickly reacted, ”I understand. You mean that as a God’s Imitator, you must use a specific game to prove your value.

”If you don’t have a game with strong enough persuasive power and merely expose your identity, it’s difficult to gain recognition from other players. Instead, you might be viewed as a threat by players with different philosophies, putting yourself in danger.”

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Yes.”

This wasn’t hard to understand, because everyone had discussed it before.

Once a God’s Imitator was exposed, they could be threatened and controlled by other players in the community.

For example, other players could threaten the Imitator to design according to their requirements, and if they dared to violate it, they would vote to kill the Imitator.

Although the Imitator could pretend to comply while acting otherwise and look for opportunities to kill players in the community, as long as they failed to eliminate everyone even once, they would definitely die.

In this relationship, the Imitator was absolutely the passive party but accepting control from other community players would also be very dangerous for the Imitator.

Because just like Community 1, the Gallery wouldn’t allow overly blatant ’black shop’ behavior and might adjust the matching or screening mechanisms within games to impose sanctions.

Although the Imitator might be coerced, they would still bear the brunt and become the cannon fodder with the greatest risk.

So Wei Yinzhang, comprehensively considering her own capabilities, her position in the community, and the philosophies of Community 6’s core players, believed that even if she were to reveal herself, it definitely had to be after a game with sufficient weight.

Take this situation for example. If Wei Yinzhang returned to Community 6 after the ’Fool’s Game,’ the ordinary players in the community would definitely support her completely, and those players in the core circle who believed in elitism would also have to reconsider her value.

So before this, Wei Yinzhang had never exposed her Imitator identity.

And her creation of the ’Fool’s Game’ was not just for ‘Fool Players’ in other communities in the New World, but also to better rally the ordinary players within Community 6, counter the elitist tendencies of the original core group, and create a safer environment for herself within the community.

Zheng Jie thought of a new question, ”Huh, but if Sister Wei, you had already decided to reveal yourself through this game, why didn’t you reveal yourself before entering the game? You could have told community players the corresponding rules in advance, right?”

Lin Sizhi considered for a moment and said, ”It might be because she needed to prepare two plans.”

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Yes, I actually prepared two plans, meaning there was the possibility of ’not revealing myself.’

”I thought about it this way: if everything went smoothly and I successfully achieved my goal in this game, the traps for ‘Sage Players’ took effect, and I distributed enough visa time to ‘Fool Players’, then I would reveal myself normally.

”This way, after returning to Community 6, I would have sufficient say.

”But what if it didn’t go smoothly? What if I found that the game situation didn’t develop as I predicted and I most likely couldn’t complete the goal of ’distributing money to ‘Fool Players’,’ then I would hide myself again and just treat this game as an opportunity to earn visa time.

”I could continue waiting for the next opportunity.

”So I didn’t reveal myself before entering the game in order to leave myself another way out.

”If I were a core player in the community, it would be fine to arrange ’anonymous recognition’ methods in advance, but I’m just a marginal player. Proposing such a motion would also arouse suspicion.

”So I just hinted for those Community 6 players with less visa time who were more honest to enter the game, thinking I’d find people temporarily after going in.

”As a result, the pace of the game was faster than I expected, and the level of chaos was also higher.

”The Community 6 players who entered were all rather honest. I overestimated their abilities and couldn’t distinguish them in a short time.”

Lin Sizhi added, ”Moreover, your image in the game was very different from your image in the community, so Community 6 players most likely didn’t guess that ’Sheep’ was you.”

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Right, that should also be one of the reasons.

”In any case, I couldn’t find 3 Community 6 members in a short time.

”Continuing to search would of course be possible, but it would increase the risk of being suspected by ’Rabbit.’

”While I was hesitating, Lawyer Lin just happened to extend an olive branch, so I considered it and decided to change communities.

”This was a temporary decision made under fortuitous circumstances, but I also gave it full consideration.

”To be honest, when Lawyer Lin exposed my identity, I was indeed startled because it was completely outside my plans.

”But Lawyer Lin didn’t show malice. He pointed out my plan, proposed some suggestions that could better gain ’Rabbit’s’ trust, and was willing to unconditionally cooperate with my plan.

”I thought about it. With his capabilities, he would absolutely be a core player in his original community, and his philosophy was also most likely the mainstream philosophy within his original community.

”So even without having met the other people in the community, I could roughly determine this was a better choice than Community 6.”
