God's Imitator

Han Mengying was completely stunned.

She had considered the possibility that ’Owl’ or ’Sika Deer’ might go back on their word, but the one she considered least was the possibility of ’Sheep’ going back on her word.

Because ’Sheep’s’ Contract Vouchers had already been given out. Han Mengying had seen this with her own eyes.

Of all ’Sheep’s’ Contract Vouchers, 70 had been distributed to the small groups of ’Owl’ and ’Sika Deer,’ and the rest had all been used to buy off other ‘Fool Players’, thereby controlling all the ‘Fool Cards’.

She had only kept five for herself.

All of this, ’Rabbit’ Han Mengying had seen with her own eyes.

Could ’Sheep’ have privately gotten her Contract Vouchers back from those ‘Fool Players’? Or had those ‘Fool Players’ breached the contract?

That was absolutely impossible.

First, ’Sheep’ hadn’t made such an extra move. Second, those ‘Fool Players’ absolutely had no reason to return the Contract Vouchers they had received but in any case, the worst-case scenario for Han Mengying had occurred.

Not only had she failed to obtain the final chip pool, but she also had to distribute her original visa time according to the content of the Contract Vouchers. The 20 vouchers given to ’Sheep’ would automatically become void because ’Sheep’ hadn’t voluntarily withdrawn from selection as the Contract Vouchers required but aside from ’Sheep,’ everyone else had followed the provisions on the Contract Vouchers.

So when the game ended, she would still need to give ’Owl’ and ’Sika Deer’ 20% of her visa time each, plus some to distribute to other players in the Sage group.

For Han Mengying, this was unacceptable. It was equivalent to losing tens of thousands of visa time for nothing.

Why hadn’t ’Sheep’ abstained?

After ruling out all impossible guesses, Han Mengying thought of the only explanation.

’Sheep’ had done this on purpose from the start.

From the beginning, what she wanted wasn’t ’visa time,’ but rather the result of ’‘Fool Players’ defeating ‘Sage Players’.’

Just as this game had said at the start:

This game is dedicated to fools, and only welcomes ’wise fools’ and ’true sages’

’Rabbit’ Han Mengying reached an unbelievable conclusion.

”’Sheep’ is the Imitator of this game?!”

The instant she realized this, Han Mengying was shocked, but at the same time, she also connected many pieces of information she had previously overlooked and the most core point among them was what the ’Imitator’s true intention’ in this game actually was.

On the surface, this game indeed gave ’Fools’ and ’Sages’ different advantages respectively.

For example, in the first round, Fools had Fools’ strategies, and Sages had Sages’ strategies.

In the second round, Fools could hoard ‘Fool Cards’, and Sages could create Contract Vouchers.

It could even be said that according to the specific rules, on the surface it gave ‘Fool Players’ a fair chance to compete, but in reality the Sages still clearly had the advantage.

Precisely because of this point, Han Mengying had always believed that the Imitator who designed this game had a ’neutral’ or ’slightly biased toward ‘Sage Players’’ position.

And the Imitator should benefit from this game through two methods:

First was like a casino, harvesting a portion of players’ chips, causing them to die from having double visa time deducted. Although it wasn’t clear exactly how much could be earned, the Imitator should be able to profit from it.

Second was to completely hide themselves and let other players incorrectly accuse the Imitator. Each incorrect accusation would earn an extra 30,000 minutes of visa time in additional benefits.

So Han Mengying had always believed that any player who was active in the game definitely wasn’t the Imitator.

The Imitator wouldn’t dare, nor would there be any need, to specifically help either the ’Fools’ or ’Sages’ group but now she realized she had been completely wrong.

From the start, this game was a trap laid specifically for the ’Sages.’

’Sheep,’ as the Imitator of this game, obtained ’Sage identity’ in order to find the small group where the ‘Sage Players’ were located and use the game rules to ”rob from the rich to give to the poor,” distributing the ‘Sage Players’’ visa time to the ‘Fool Players’ as much as possible.

She wasn’t targeting Han Mengying specifically. It was just that Han Mengying happened to be standing in that position.

Apart from not seeing through ’Sheep’s’ disguises, the biggest mistake Han Mengying made was that she never believed that the Imitator who designed this game would stand completely and unreservedly on the side of the ‘Fool Players’.

Even less did she believe that these three people, ’Sheep,’ ’Owl,’ and ’Sika Deer,’ could all be willing to lose 150,000 or even more visa time themselves for the benefit of other Fools.

Although she still couldn’t figure out many details, at least one point could be confirmed.

’Sheep’ was most likely the Imitator of this game.

Thinking of this, Han Mengying immediately pressed the button on the panel.

[A player has accused ’Sheep’ of being the Imitator of this game.]

[System verification result: Correct.]

[Full player voting will now open. Countdown: 1 minute. If you want to kill ’Sheep,’ press ’Death.’ Otherwise, press ’Life.’]

Han Mengying couldn’t help but feel pleased. She had guessed correctly!

Accusing the Imitator, if correct, would not result in any visa time being deducted.

Although killing ’Sheep’ couldn’t reclaim the final prize pool, at least it could let Han Mengying vent her anger.

However, the broadcast sound soon came.

[Voting has ended.]

[Final voting result: Death votes did not reach 70%. The Imitator need not suffer instant death punishment.]

Han Mengying was stunned.

The death votes hadn’t reached 70%. This meant that at least a dozen or so players didn’t want ’Sheep’ to die, even though killing the Imitator would allow them to evenly divide her visa time.

Han Mengying looked in the direction where ’Sheep’ was.

She saw her very elegantly place one hand on her chest and bow to all the players in gratitude.

”Thank you all for cooperating with me to complete this game.

”The reason I designed such a game is very simple: I just wanted to seek fairness in the Gallery once for all ’‘Fool Players’.’

”In past games, faced with complex rules and deliberate scheming, ‘Fool Players’ were helpless and could only be manipulated by those so-called Sages.

”Self-righteous Sages view Fools as trash, as burdens, as pitiful worms that can be manipulated at will, or as grass whose visa time can be harvested at will.

”Although I am the Imitator and may not lack visa time, in other people’s games, I am also a Fool and, like you all, have endured this contempt and arrogance for a long time.

”I want to use this game to prove my philosophy:

”Only Sages who can see and utilize the power of Fools are true Sages.

”Thank you all for your cooperation. As I said at the very beginning, this is a victory won together by ’wise Fools’ and ’true Sages.’

”This game has concluded perfectly. Until we meet again!”

The players in the hall had various reactions. Obviously, under this screening mechanism, there were still some players who had large amounts of visa time deducted and might even suffer instant death punishment.

They were in states of chagrin and panic and naturally had no mind to listen to what ’Sheep’ was saying but most players were applauding and cheering.

It was precisely because of this reason that the death votes to kill ’Sheep’ could never possibly reach 70%, because ’Sheep’ had already distributed the prize pool and a large amount of original visa time to these ‘Fool Players’ and had earned their trust and respect.

They hoped that such God’s Imitators could survive, and the more the better.
