God's Imitator

Han Mengying looked back at the door she came out from. The door had a conspicuous ’Rabbit’ symbol, used to distinguish different players’ rest rooms.

On other players’ doors, there were also symbols corresponding to their masks.

These doors were evenly distributed on the walls around the hall, just forming a circle.

Han Mengying looked beside her door. Sure enough, there was a special voting machine.

Its structure was very simple. Below was a support column, and above was an operation panel with various different numbers, symbols, and animal avatar icons of all players in the venue.

These buttons were strictly divided into different areas to distinguish different functions.

Additionally, around the operation panel were barriers similar to ATM keypads, used to protect privacy.

There were also corresponding rule explanations nearby introducing specific usage. Not difficult to understand.

Han Mengying looked at the other players again.

They had also just arrived at the game hall, each wearing different oxygen masks, looking around and thinking about countermeasures.Just then, a broadcast voice came.

[The first round of ’Guess the Number’ game begins. Reminder again, the number guessing range is 0-100.]

[Please go to the equipment beside your respective rest room doors to input your guessed number before the first round ends. Timeout or out of range will automatically be filled in as the maximum value.]

[Emphasizing again, please consider that this number may decrease due to human factors.]

After this broadcast ended, there was no more sound.

The venue became noisy again.

Quite a few players were already impatiently heading to battle platforms.

This hall also had many battle platforms distributed throughout, with shapes completely identical to the battle platforms seen during previous two-player battles.

Including the additional benefit rule of ’minimum security’, it still existed.

However, the difference between the second stage and the first stage was that specific betting chip restrictions were completely removed.

Players could freely choose the chip amount to bet and could agree that both sides would duel with unequal chips.

For example, Han Mengying could choose to bet 3000 herself while the opponent bet 1000.

This was because after first stage battles, almost all players knew that the ’Sage Deck’ had huge advantages when facing the ’Fool Deck’. If betting chips were the same, no fool would be willing to play cards with a sage.

Free chip betting allowed players to bargain with each other, freely adjusting ’odds’ based on player and deck strength, promoting battle achievement but this way, if either side didn’t bet the 1000 base, it would cause the ’minimum security’ additional benefit rule to cease to exist.

While thinking about the ’Guess the Number’ rules, Han Mengying came to the hall, randomly looking for players who seemed like ’prey’.

Especially players wearing fierce masks often had relatively simple thoughts.

”The window period when the game just starts is most important, and the time when the most chips can be earned.”

Han Mengying always valued the concepts of ’window period’ and ’time difference’.

At this time, the second stage game had just begun. Most players were still thinking about new rules, their brains in an occupied state.

Han Mengying obtained one of only 10 ’Sage Identities’. From now on, she could always obtain sage decks. Playing games now had the biggest winning chances.

As time passed, everyone would roughly figure out the rules, and the ’Sage Players’’ identities would definitely gradually be exposed. ’Fool Players’ would be on guard.

At that time, she would very likely have to give very high odds before opponents would be willing to play.

Taking advantage of this precious window period, deceive as many as possible.

’Rabbit’ Han Mengying quickly found several players suspected to be ’prey’ and extended game invitations to them.

However, what made Han Mengying somewhat surprised was that after these people looked at her, they all refused.

At first, Han Mengying didn’t pay too much attention. After all, the game had just begun. It was normal for these players to be wary of players who actively approached but very soon, she realized it didn’t seem to be like that.

Because players who had refused her quickly accepted game invitations from other players.

”Strange, can these people tell I’m holding a ’Sage Deck’?

”Impossible. The two decks’ card backs are completely identical. Moreover, my cards are all in my pocket and haven’t even been taken out.

”Forget it. Since these people are unwilling to play cards, I can change strategy and first find other ’Sage Players’, and also players from the same community.”

...

At the same time, at the other end of the hall.

Wearing the ’Gray Wolf’ mask, He Xiaojun clutched the chips in his pocket, looking at the vast number of players in the hall, somewhat at a loss.

At this time, many players had already started free battles. The atmosphere of winners and losers was completely different.

Some players must have won large amounts of chips all at once, excitedly shouting loudly.

Some players held their heads in frustration after losing, as if they had lost all hope.

Some players were constantly bargaining and testing each other, hoping the opponent would put in more chips while they put in less.

Some players deliberately hid in corners, secretly chatting with other players about something. They should be trying to cooperate and adopt stable strategies.

He Xiaojun originally wanted to try to find players from the same community or reliable cooperation partners, but couldn’t distinguish who these players were at all.

This really was completely in the dark.

Continue playing cards? He didn’t know how to select opponents either.

Everyone wore masks. Couldn’t tell strength.

Continue executing the random card play strategy?

It seemed he could only minimize losses, not guarantee wins.

That note wrote very clearly that this strategy mainly applied to the first stage.

Not that it completely couldn’t be used in the second stage, but the effect would definitely be greatly reduced.

Of course, He Xiaojun also thought this game had methods for cooperative win-win. As long as he found a trustworthy player and both sides took turns winning, then they could use the ’minimum security’ rule to steadily earn 1000 chips.

If a fool player and sage player cooperated, they could max out five rounds. Two fool players would be somewhat worse but the problem was, he fundamentally couldn’t find a trustworthy partner.

Community 14 also had other players who entered this game, but everyone wore masks. Finding them was like looking for a needle in a haystack. He Xiaojun fundamentally couldn’t distinguish who was who.

If he randomly found someone to cooperate with, if the other party reneged, He Xiaojun would have difficulty bearing this loss but to make him actively deceive people, it was difficult to make up his mind.

After deceiving people, what if other players wouldn’t play with him anymore, affecting his team formation?

For players unaccustomed to deceiving people, even if they had the thought of deception, it was difficult to actually implement it but to leave the game without losses, he needed at least 20,000 more chips. Where these 20,000 chips would come from became a big problem.

He Xiaojun walked aimlessly in the venue. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. He saw a player he had encountered before in the first stage: ’Rabbit’.
