God's Imitator

In other words, the God’s Imitator who designed this game should be trying to screen out players other than ’wise fools’ and ’true sages’.

For example, ’hopeless fools’ and ’sages with only petty cleverness’.

Judging from the stance of this statement, this seemed to be a God’s Imitator biased toward the ordinary player’s position.

From the game’s name ’Fool’s Game’, one could also see that this seemed to be a game allowing fools to compete fairly with sages as much as possible, or even a game favoring fool players.

Unlike other games with more complex strategies where fools had no power to fight back against sages but the question was, could this be achieved with the current mechanism?

’Rock Paper Scissors’ seemed like a game where luck was greater than strategy, but it wasn’t completely without strategy. Ordinary players couldn’t possibly achieve higher win rates than smart people in this kind of game.

This game should have some other mysteries.

Lin Sizhi looked at one of the game’s basic rules.

[After the game officially starts, all game venues including rest areas will maintain an oxygen-deprived state throughout. Players must wear oxygen masks at all times to play, and need to spend chips to replenish oxygen.]

[The oxygen mask will display current oxygen remaining and the number of oxygen replenishments.]This rule didn’t seem to have much significance, just additionally increasing chip consumption.

If an average player saw this, they would very likely simply understand it as ’the casino’s rake’.

But Lin Sizhi didn’t think so.

If they just wanted to rake, couldn’t they directly take 5% or a similar value when exchanging chips or winning chips?

That way, the more players gambled, the more rake there would be, and the value could be freely adjusted.

If only considering from the ’rake’ perspective, there seemed no need to specifically design it in the form of ’spending chips to buy oxygen’.

Moreover, this rule would very likely make no difference to different players.

Because most players’ oxygen consumption should be about the same. Even if some players frequently thought and used their brains a lot, the brain’s oxygen consumption wouldn’t open up too large a gap from other players.

On the contrary, if some players were excessively nervous, it might instead cause a greater increase in oxygen consumption.

Lin Sizhi speculated this might be because the God’s Imitator who designed this game wanted to make some distinctions through the ’oxygen consumption’ factor, but overlooked the point that ’thinking cannot greatly increase oxygen consumption’.

Additionally, this game didn’t seem to have a specialized method to kill the God’s Imitator.

Although from the current rules, the God’s Imitator seemed to stand on the ordinary players’ side, Lin Sizhi couldn’t completely confirm this point.

After all, what he saw wasn’t all the game rules.

After consideration, Lin Sizhi decided to submit two modification suggestions.

It didn’t matter if the other party didn’t adopt them, because from the current situation, this screening-type game’s mortality rate wasn’t excessive, not reaching the egregious level of ’Blind Date Game’.

The first suggestion was a modification suggestion for the ’oxygen mask’.

[The oxygen mask will automatically detect brain activity. The more frequent and deeper the thinking, the faster the oxygen consumption speed.]

The second suggestion was a new addition.

[If this game’s God’s Imitator is also in the game, add the ’Identify God’s Imitator’ rule.]

[Any player can identify other players as the God’s Imitator who designed this game at any time. The system automatically verifies.]

[If verification fails and the identified player is not the God’s Imitator who designed this game, that player will be deducted 30,000 minutes of visa time and transferred to the God’s Imitator.]

[If verification succeeds, the system automatically confirms the God’s Imitator and opens voting for all players. If over 70% agree, instant death penalty can be imposed on the God’s Imitator.]

These two suggestions would be submitted in the form of ’Gallery Suggestion’.

The other party might not adopt them, or might adopt them but not enter the game.

Of course, they might also adopt the suggestions and enter the game.

But regardless of which situation, it was acceptable for Lin Sizhi.

...

Three days later, morning.

A broadcast notification for a new game appeared on the large screen.

[Players, good morning!]

[The ’Gallery’ will open in one hour.]

[This game is named ’Fool’s Game’, with the game objective being ’screening players’.]

[Players for this game come from 8 communities, totaling 40 players.]

[The number of people each community can participate: 3-8 people.]

[All players can voluntarily register to participate, without restrictions. But based on registration willingness, they will be divided into ’priority players’ and ’alternate players’.]

[If the sum of ’priority players’ and ’alternate players’ voluntarily registering from the same community is fewer than 3 people, random selection will occur.]

[If ’priority players’ from the 8 communities number fewer than 40, ’alternate players’ will be arranged to enter. If still insufficient, random selection from communities with fewer participants will occur to fill the quota.]

[Additionally, this game’s God’s Imitator extends an invitation to specific players:]

[This game is dedicated to fools, and only welcomes ’wise fools’ and ’true sages’.]

[Please prepare yourselves, players!]

Then, a one-hour countdown appeared on the large screen.

59:59

59:58

Fu Chen was somewhat surprised, ”It’s time for a screening-type game! That is, similar to the previous ’Blind Date Game’?

”Still voluntary registration. Does anyone have any thoughts? I can...”

But before he finished speaking, Li Renshu had already interrupted him.

”Don’t rush to sign up. This matter needs careful consideration.”

She looked at the broadcast on the large screen and thought briefly, ”Screening-type games still have certain dangers. There should be a specific mortality rate.

”If this game’s mortality rate is consistent with ’Blind Date Game’, that’s quite frightening, even more dangerous than some judgment-type games.

”We should still try to select relatively suitable players to participate, and must consider team cooperation issues as much as possible.”

The player selection for the previous ’Blind Date Game’ was actually generally correct.

Li Renshu believed that people who had advantages in real matchmaking activities would very likely also have advantages in ’Blind Date Game’. This idea wasn’t wrong.

At least Yang Yuting did indeed have considerable advantages in ’Blind Date Game’.

Moreover, since it was a multiplayer game, they should still consider having strong players lead as much as possible.

Because even in a game like ’Blind Date Game’ that completely isolated player communication, there still existed the possibility of indirect cooperation.

After considering for a moment, Li Renshu said, ”I think the focus of consideration should be the invitation this game’s God’s Imitator extended to specific players:

”This is a game dedicated to fools, and only welcomes ’wise fools’ and ’true sages’.

”Considering the literal meaning... does it mean players not good at thinking can actually profit more from the game?”

Cai Zhiyuan obviously didn’t quite agree with this view, ”That’s quite unlikely, right?

”Except for games that particularly emphasize physical strength, I can’t think of any game where players not good at thinking can profit more easily.

”Moreover, do players not good at thinking necessarily have good physical strength? Not necessarily either.

”I think this might be a trap or snare.

”This statement is from the God’s Imitator to players, but the Gallery has never said this must be true.

”What if the God’s Imitator deliberately used this statement to lure players not good at thinking into the game, then go on a killing spree? We can’t completely rule out this possibility.”

Li Renshu thought for a moment, ”But... we also can’t deliberately select unsuitable players to enter the game just because this possibility exists, right?

”What if this statement is true?”

She looked at Lin Sizhi, ”Lawyer Lin, what’s your thought?

”If we’re talking about ’true sages’, you should meet this criterion.”

Everyone had already discussed having Lin Sizhi enter this game and find suitable new players but Lin Sizhi didn’t necessarily have to enter. If he didn’t want to, Community 17 could of course consider other candidates.

If no one wanted to enter, ultimately it would just be random drawing.

Lin Sizhi thought for a moment, ”I’m actually somewhat curious about this game. I can go in and take a look.

”However, since it’s a screening-type game with a mortality rate, and our community’s players currently have quite a bit of remaining visa time, the remaining candidates can register freely. Just enter the minimum of 3 people.

”But overall, I still lean toward not being too clever by half.

”Players who aren’t too smart but can easily establish mutual trust and have strong execution ability can enter.”

Qin Yao thought for a moment, ”Then I’ll register to participate? It sounds like I should meet this condition.”

Zheng Jie went through some mental struggle, then also raised his hand, ”I should count too?

”Anyway, after entering the game, just try to adopt stable strategies, right? Then try to meet up with Lawyer Lin as early as possible and execute team strategy.”

Fu Chen asked, ”What about me? Should I enter or not?”

Lin Sizhi considered for a moment, ”I think you’re neither smart nor stupid, not necessarily suitable for this game. Of course, you can also register as an alternate player to avoid being randomly selected with other even less suitable people from the community due to insufficient numbers.”

Other people temporarily didn’t have the idea of registering.

For players like Wang Yongxin, first he felt he didn’t quite meet this game’s requirements, and in a situation where he wasn’t short on visa time, he temporarily didn’t want to risk participating in screening-type games with death risk.

Because so far, everyone wasn’t clear whether all screening-type games were as dangerous as ’Blind Date Game’? Or was ’Blind Date Game’ just a special case?

This was the second screening-type game. They could verify through this game before making decisions.

Li Renshu considered for a moment, ”Let’s tentatively confirm Lawyer Lin, Qin Yao, and Zheng Jie for this round.

”Fu Chen, you’re a bit neither here nor there. After entering, you might instead increase Lawyer Lin’s burden.

”You can register as an alternate player. If there’s a situation of insufficient personnel requiring forced participation, you can step in.

”Overall, other people participating in the game should also try to seek self-preservation in the game as much as possible, then quickly find and meet up with Lawyer Lin.

”I’ll keep watching your situation. If death risk appears, I’ll use the death immunity token for rescue.”

Fu Chen nodded, ”Okay, then I’ll register as an ’alternate player’.”

After simple discussion, the countdown ended.

[This community’s participating players: Lin Sizhi, Qin Yao, Zheng Jie.]

It seemed that because the number was already sufficient, Fu Chen as an alternate player wasn’t selected.

The next second, the three disappeared from the hall.
