God's Imitator

The next second, Zheng Jie realized he had returned to the community hall.

Again, it was Fu Chen who counted heads at the first opportunity.

”One, two, three, four... Huh, Lawyer Lin really brought back a new member!”

Fu Chen’s somewhat surprised voice came through, and other players in the hall also gathered around one after another.

Lin Sizhi explained, ”Mm, there happened to be a suitable candidate in the game, so I recruited her.

”I thought seriously about it. Her profession is indeed the most scarce and most urgently needed in our community.”

Li Renshu was somewhat surprised, ”Oh? The most scarce and most urgently needed profession?”

These words left her a bit puzzled.

Although everyone did have strong preferences in recruitment choices, such as mechanics, architects, chefs, special forces soldiers, and so on, they were all only relatively needed.

They couldn’t be said to be particularly scarce or urgently needed, right?Among the various professions, there didn’t seem to be any particular priority.

Lin Sizhi looked at ’Sheep.’ At this time, she no longer had her mask. She was a woman in her thirties with shoulder-length short hair and an intellectual air about her.

”Come say hello to everyone.”

’Sheep’ said, ”Hello everyone, my name is Wei Yinzhang. I’m an Imitator.”

Li Renshu was stunned, ”Ah?”

The others also didn’t react for a moment. Wang Yongxin, who was sitting to the side observing Wei Yinzhang, even widened his eyes. Fortunately, he wasn’t drinking coffee, otherwise he definitely would have sprayed it out.

”An Imitator?!”

Everyone in the hall who hadn’t participated in the game all let out exclamations.

Li Renshu was among the first to regain her composure. She nodded, ”I see. The most scarce and most urgently needed profession that Lawyer Lin mentioned was actually an Imitator?

”That indeed makes a lot of sense.”

The others also understood why Lin Sizhi would say that.

Because there was no Imitator in the community who had revealed their identity, up until now, Community 17 not only hadn’t had game content revealed in advance, but could only make hard guesses even about Imitator-related rules.

And even if they guessed the general idea, they couldn’t verify it.

This information gap would cause Community 17 to be at a disadvantage in many situations but now, with an Imitator, they could fill this information gap.

Even if this Imitator didn’t open a black shop like Zhong Yuanyuan, it didn’t matter.

She just needed to reveal what the theme of the upcoming game was and whether anyone from the community had been selected to participate in a judgment game. These alone could play a significant role.

So the most scarce profession in Community 17 was indeed an Imitator. This statement had no problem at all.

The reason everyone hadn’t discussed this possibility before was mainly that finding an Imitator in a game was too difficult, like buying a lottery ticket.

Not to mention that most God’s Imitators could choose not to enter their own games. Even if they did enter, trying to find them was like finding a needle in a haystack yet Lin Sizhi had actually managed to catch one.

Everyone couldn’t help but look forward even more to this review session.

Because in past reviews, everyone as players would guess the Imitator’s intentions together, but this time they could hear the Imitator herself speak.

From the specific content of the Gallery’s invitation, to the design thinking, to various details in the game, no one was more authoritative than the designer herself.

Of course, judging from the previous ’Blind Date Game’ situation, God’s Imitators getting too close to players, especially revealing their identity openly, might attract targeting from the Gallery.

So most people wouldn’t push too hard.

How much Wei Yinzhang was willing to reveal to everyone was her freedom.

In any case, having an Imitator with a clear identity in the community would indeed have a significant impact on the entire future of Community 17, and might even change the current pattern.

The results of this game had also long appeared on the large screen.

[Now announcing Community 17’s final visa time gains in the ’Fool’s Game’.]

[No. 2 Wei Yinzhang: -314598]

[No. 7 Qin Yao: 38761]

[No. 10 Zheng Jie: 41839]

[No. 12 Lin Sizhi: 77293]

[According to community rules, when players gain visa time greater than 20,000 minutes, 5% will be included in the community security fund. The remaining visa time will be credited to each player’s visa.]

Seeing this result, Fu Chen was obviously stunned for a moment.

”Huh? I just noticed, why is there a negative sign?”

Everyone also looked toward the large screen and discovered that Wei Yinzhang’s gains were indeed negative.

This was the first time such a situation had appeared in Community 17. Previously it had been either positive numbers or expulsion.

This was also normal, because the penalties in most games were basically simple and brutal instant death. Games that deducted large amounts of visa time were relatively few, and Community 17’s players hadn’t encountered such a situation yet.

Especially since everyone already knew that Wei Yinzhang was the Imitator who designed this game.

How could the Imitator enter her own home field yet have so much deducted? This was obviously not quite right, wasn’t it?

Li Renshu said, ”Everyone go back to your rooms to rest first. We’ll do the review this afternoon.”

...

Afternoon.

After resting separately, everyone returned to the hall, ready to begin this game’s review.

Li Renshu said, ”Before starting this game’s review, I first, on behalf of all players in Community 17, welcome the new member’s addition.”

She looked at Wei Yinzhang, ”Lawyer Lin is the only person in our community who holds the power to recruit people within games, so his decision represents the collective decision of all of us.

”His philosophy also represents the philosophy of our Community 17.

”So you can be completely at ease. All members of Community 17 will accept you without reservation.”

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Thank you.”

Li Renshu continued, ”However, before starting the game review, I think we still need to first discuss some more important issues that everyone is more concerned about.

”Yinzhang, could you briefly introduce your situation first, including why you chose to leave your original community, and as an Imitator, how is living in a community different from ordinary players?

”Because we previously had no God’s Imitators in our community, we can be said to be in a state of complete ignorance about these situations. Only by clarifying these matters first can we better get into the main topic.

”Of course, if you think some content is inconvenient to reveal, that’s also fine. Just talk about the parts you think you can talk about.”

Obviously, even for someone Lin Sizhi had recruited, the most basic background investigation was still necessary.

Li Renshu’s behavior couldn’t really be called distrust, but was merely the process that must be followed as a community manager.

This was also something other community members wanted to know.

Wei Yinzhang didn’t mind. For her, even if Li Renshu didn’t ask, these were all things that needed to be explained as clearly as possible anyway, to avoid some unnecessary misunderstandings.

”I’m 32 years old. I was originally self-employed, specifically speaking... a comic artist with no particular fame.

”The three types of cards in the ’Fool’s Game’ were designed by me myself. Not bad, right?

”The community I was in before was Community 6.

”The reason for deciding to leave Community 6 temporarily during the game is rather complex. Let me start from the beginning.”
