God's Imitator

After thinking for a moment, Cao Haichuan said, ”I actually think this isn’t the God’s Imitators’ tacit understanding, but rather the inevitable result of the Gallery’s mechanism.

”Suppose we now want to throw many criminals into the same game for judgment, then this will definitely be an unfair game.

”Because if it were fair, it would mean each criminal has an equal chance of winning. They would each display their abilities, and the nature of the game would become closer to ’distribution-type’ or ’screening-type’ games.

”To dig pits for specific people, or to judge specific themes, you must give some criminals extra privileges, making them advantageous identities.

”With advantageous identities, naturally there are disadvantaged identities, and even pure cannon fodder identities waiting to die.

”The ’cannon fodder’ in judgment must also be played by real players, not replaced with false files, because that wouldn’t serve the purpose of ’testing human nature’.

”Who would be stupid enough to expose their weaknesses to a bunch of false files? As long as they’re not crazy, everyone can make rational choices.

”Only when the cannon fodder are also real players will the advantaged identity players fall into the judgment game’s trap.

”When the Gallery wants to judge a specific theme, it must give the God’s Imitator sufficiently large ’discretionary power’. The more the Gallery encourages God’s Imitators to make distinctive designs, the greater this ’discretionary power’ must be.

”God’s Imitators can forcibly save certain criminals, and can also forcibly wrongfully kill certain criminals.”This is the God’s Imitator’s privilege. We can only accept this privilege and prepare ourselves mentally: perhaps truly fair judgment games will never appear.”

After considering for a moment, Cai Zhiyuan said, ”Actually, if we must say something, I do have a speculation.

”That is, when the Gallery issues judgment tasks, there very likely exists some kind of indirect screening mechanism.”

Everyone was stunned, ”Indirect screening mechanism? What do you mean?”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”Let’s assume that when God’s Imitators create judgment games and select criminals, they are completely free and can see a list of criminals from all communities in the entire New World.

”What kind of result would this produce?

”God’s Imitators would only need to design a game, throw their enemies into positions where they must die, and they could easily kill everyone they want to kill.

”The Gallery might show some favoritism toward God’s Imitators, but not to this extent.

”So I believe that when the Gallery selects judgment targets, there is also a priority order.

”For example, people whom the Gallery considers to have lower value and should be eliminated first will be prioritized as judgment targets and assigned to God’s Imitators.

”The first three real judgment targets in our community were Uncle Ding, Aunt Su, and Jiang He.

”Is this purely coincidental? I don’t think so.

”If we were to evaluate ’Community 17 player value’, these three would happen to be the lowest.

”Besides this, I think from the situation in this ’Childbirth Judgment’, those criminals locked on the wall without much negotiating space were very likely also targets the Gallery considered should be eliminated first.

”So I think we might as well propose this hypothesis:

”The more the Gallery considers a player to have lower value to the New World, the more likely they are to become targets of judgment games. Moreover, the more likely they are to play purely ’cannon fodder’ roles in judgment games.”

Wang Yongxin was stunned, ”Then what was the situation with us two in ’King’s Judgment’?”

Cai Zhiyuan explained, ”We two were probably dragged down by Uncle Ding, since we happened to belong to the same case.

”Xu Tong and Aunt Su are in a similar situation.”

Everyone fell into silence. Obviously, Cai Zhiyuan’s statement did make some sense.

The relatively clear fact was the priority of judgment games.

According to the Gallery’s standards, it could almost be said that everyone has original sin, and all people in Community 17 should have their own judgment games.

The reason they haven’t yet couldn’t possibly be the God’s Imitators’ great mercy. The only reason was that the Gallery hadn’t issued relevant requirements.

As long as the Gallery issued them, there would definitely be clever God’s Imitators who would design the games. There’s no escaping.

So were the first three main judgment targets being Ding Wenqiang, Su Xiucen, and Jiang He a coincidence?

Obviously not.

These three had one thing in common. It wasn’t simply being weak, stubborn, or incompatible with the community environment, but rather ’lower value’.

This so-called value was the value judged by the New World, which could be seen from the difference in ’initial visa time’.

It might include multiple factors, such as age, personality, professional background, knowledge system, moral standards, and so on.

Currently, no one knew what the specific standards were.

But from those criminals in ’Childbirth Judgment’ who had little negotiating space, it could also be roughly determined that their value to the Gallery was most likely lower than the four main players.

They very likely had little initial visa time, committed serious crimes, didn’t quite understand the community and New World rules, and didn’t earn much visa time afterward either.

In the Gallery’s eyes, they were originally targets to be cleaned up first, so the Gallery allowed God’s Imitators to use them as ’cannon fodder’ in judgment games.

Lin Sizhi couldn’t help but think of Wei Xinjian, whom the Gallery threw to him for testing before entering the game.

During the testing process, Wei Xinjian was also completely passive. Although Lin Sizhi left him room to survive, if Lin Sizhi had designed the game more harshly and lowered the rating to B, unreasonably killing Wei Xinjian, it would most likely still pass the review.

Having absolutely no way to survive wouldn’t work, but whether the way to survive was large or small completely depended on the God’s Imitator.

The Gallery’s attitude toward different players was clearly divided into several completely different standards.

Among the two identities of God’s Imitator and player, there were similar labels like ’excellent’, ’average’, and ’terrible’.

The lower this label, the worse the situation for the God’s Imitator or player.

If evaluated by the Gallery as a ’terrible player’ or ’low-value player’, then not only would they be judged first, but they would also very likely be arranged by the God’s Imitator in purely expendable corner positions waiting to die in the judgment.

The Gallery would approve this kind of arrangement.

Conversely, if a God’s Imitator put high-value players in ’cannon fodder’ positions, the Gallery would most likely not approve.

Li Renshu gave the final summary statement, ”So, to encounter ’judgment games’ later, or to not be arranged as ’cannon fodder’ in ’judgment games’, the only way is to prove your value as much as possible before the judgment game arrives, and not become a ’low-value player’ in the Gallery’s eyes.

”If the Gallery really wants to judge Lawyer Lin someday, then I believe it will also be after everyone in the entire community has been judged once, and Lawyer Lin will definitely get the greatest advantageous identity in the judgment game.”

Lin Sizhi smiled faintly, ”Is that so? That’s really good news.”

Everyone sighed quietly.

This screening mechanism was very cruel, but from the Gallery’s standpoint, it was quite reasonable.

Qin Yao raised her hand and asked, ”I have a question.

”Could ’Childbirth Judgment’ and ’King’s Judgment’... be works by the same God’s Imitator?”

Everyone fell into silence.

Obviously, this question hit the mark. Most people present also wanted to ask this question.

Xu Tong thought for a moment, ”Obviously yes, right? There’s a strong sense of déjà vu everywhere!

”There are inner field players and spectators, there’s an evaluation mechanism, there are different torture devices, and there’s extremely strong targeting of advantageous identities...

”It’s almost like they were carved from the same mold.

”It just played some new tricks based on ’King’s Judgment’, but the design thinking is obviously consistent.”

Li Renshu looked at Cao Haichuan, ”I think this question should be asked to a professional.

”Officer Cao, do you think it was done by the same God’s Imitator?”

Cao Haichuan thought for a while. Obviously, this question didn’t have a very definite answer for him either and required careful response.

”I’m actually more inclined to think they’re not the same God’s Imitator.

”The designer of ’Childbirth Judgment’ is more like a ’God’s Imitator’s imitator’.”
