God's Imitator

At the same time, a broadcast came through in the audience lounge.

[Please all audience members conduct a ’consistency vote’ regarding the judgment panel’s behavior in the first judgment room.]

In the lounge were five different voting machines, each person assigned to one.

”What should we do? Should we vote insincerely?” Fu Chen was somewhat hesitant.

Li Renshu was silent for a moment, ”Decide for yourselves. Let’s not discuss this kind of thing.”

Fu Chen hesitated, but ultimately didn’t cast an insincere vote.

[Voting result: ××××××××××]

Seeing such a uniform voting result, everyone was momentarily speechless.

The two judgments were really too different, and Jiang He, who made the verdict, couldn’t personally kill the criminal herself. This was equivalent to not taking responsibility for her own judgment, which would make many audience members’ already somewhat poor impression of her decline further.

But no matter what, this voting mechanism was still different from ’King’s Judgment.’ If the first vote in King’s Judgment had such a vote pattern, it would have already directly triggered the hidden mechanism. This meant that the ’consistency voting’ mechanism in this game operated through different rules.

Smart people had roughly guessed the mechanism, but couldn’t do anything now. They could only continue watching the inner field footage.

…

The same judgment room would be divided into two different rooms, one holding a male criminal, one holding a female criminal, separated only by a door in between but between different judgment rooms, there would be a long curved corridor.

Everyone entered the corridor heading to the next judgment room. Unknowingly, they had pulled apart some distance.

Jiang He walked at the front. Yang Yuting quickly caught up and tugged at her sleeve.

”What happened with that male criminal earlier is past. I won’t say more about it.

”But no matter what the next male criminal’s crime is, he must be saved! You can’t really make Li Jiang use mechanism 2 ten times by himself, right?”

Jiang He countered, ”Why not? He requested it himself. Moreover, he indeed can use it that many times.”

Yang Yuting was somewhat dumbfounded, ”Don’t be stubborn! This is a judgment game!”

Jiang He nodded, ”I’m not being stubborn. Think about it carefully. This is indeed a judgment game, but the game rules also clearly stated that aside from violations, there’s only one situation that will result in instant death penalty.

”’Barbarian Invasion.’

”Even if this mechanism is really triggered, it’s still an all-member vote deciding life and death, and only one person needs to die.

”As long as we ensure more than half the votes give us ’life,’ won’t that work?

”Just like ’King’s Judgment,’ even completely unjust judgments can still clear the game. After obtaining the advantageous identity, how should we play? Have you forgotten?”

Yang Yuting was stunned. She understood what Jiang He was thinking.

The decision to save female criminals not only aligned with Jiang He’s subjective wishes, but was also a decision made after thinking through the game rules.

Right now there were 5 people: Jiang He, Yang Yuting, Li Jiang, Chen Yumei, and Bai Yanyan.

If they voted right now, then the three votes of Jiang He, Yang Yuting, and Bai Yanyan would most likely be tied together.

They could choose to directly vote Li Jiang to death and end the game.

The more female criminals Jiang He saved, the more female votes would dominate when the judgment mechanism was finally triggered.

This was definitely a decision Jiang He made after comparing it with the replay content of ’King’s Judgment.’

Because according to the rules of ’King’s Judgment,’ although being consistently fair was the optimal solution, being completely unfair was also fine. As long as one consciously favored certain prisoners, one could similarly escape judgment.

It could even be said that consciously favoring certain prisoners might be a simpler clearance method than judging everyone fairly.

Although they couldn’t yet confirm whether this mechanism was completely the same as ’King’s Judgment,’ judging from the mechanism that ’voting to kill is the only method to kill judgment panel members,’ counting votes was indeed a reliable solution.

Because consistently fair judgment didn’t necessarily guarantee not being voted to death. Those judged male criminals who survived might be more inclined to vote Chief Judge Jiang He to death.

So saving male criminals carried risk.

On the contrary, unjust or even obviously biased judgments favoring female criminals could ensure she stably obtained several ’life’ votes but even thinking of this point, Yang Yuting still felt something was wrong.

”But if it really comes to the voting step, who can say for sure what will happen?

”You think you’re Bai Yanyan’s savior. Does she think so too? She could push a friend into a river. Will she be grateful to you?

”You don’t think that just because she’s female, she’ll unconditionally stand on your side, right?

”Not triggering ’Barbarian Invasion’ is the safest choice.

”Right now we must save one more strong female criminal and one male criminal.”

Jiang He nodded, ”I understand. If we encounter a male criminal whose crimes aren’t too excessive later, I’ll consider giving him a way out.”

……

At the entrance to the second judgment room, there was another new question.

[When does physiological jaundice in newborns typically begin to subside?]

[A: Within 24 hours after birth.]

[B: 2-3 days after birth.]

[C: 7-10 days after birth.]

[D: Full moon (one month).]

Everyone fell into silence again.

After pondering, Jiang He said, ”I remember it shouldn’t take as long as a full month, but I can’t say clearly exactly how many days...”

Jiang He looked at Bai Yanyan, but obviously, Bai Yanyan couldn’t possibly know the answer to this question either.

”...Let’s ask for help again.”

Jiang He pressed the button to ask the off-field audience again.

[The audience has provided the correct answer: C]

[Congratulations, you have obtained 120,000 childbirth fund points.]

[Remaining childbirth fund: 219,000]

No matter what, a total of 240,000 childbirth fund points were now secured.

As long as their luck was a bit good, this childbirth fund was already enough to create 10 childbirth badges with surplus but there was no more chance to ask the audience for the remaining questions. Everyone could only rely on guessing.

Of course, they would still encounter 4 more criminals and could still adopt two different strategies.

One was to roughly determine the knowledge structure that criminal possessed through age and crimes, saving those criminals who might have childbirth experience. This way, they would have hope of answering the later questions correctly.

The other strategy was to kill as many criminals as possible, because killing each criminal could also additionally gain 10,000 childbirth fund points.

The additionally obtained childbirth fund could also reduce the difficulty of the mechanisms.

Everyone arrived at the second judgment room.

They still first saw a female criminal.

[While trying to win back her boyfriend, had an intense quarrel with him and lost emotional control, using a fruit knife to stab the other party causing minor injury grade one.]

[Judgment result: Because this was a first offense and she had just turned 18, sentenced to six months imprisonment, probation one year. Sentence already completed.]

Jiang He looked at the others.

Li Jiang simply stated his opinion, ”Disciplinary action.”

Obviously, he felt this sentencing was too light, but didn’t warrant death penalty either.

Chen Yumei was still the same as before, not expressing any views. She seemed purely to be Li Jiang’s appendage, planning to coast through this game to the end.

As for Bai Yanyan, she wasn’t a jury member. Although she could also express opinions, she was after all inferior in status and very wisely chose to keep quiet.
