God's Imitator

Many people still looked confused. Obviously, most people hadn’t noticed what Li Renshu was talking about.

In their impression, Jiang He was just a not-too-smart, somewhat low-EQ peripheral figure. Her abilities were indeed not particularly outstanding, but she was usually kind to others and could even be said to have a somewhat helpful image.

How could she have such serious problems in Li Renshu’s eyes?

Li Renshu sighed quietly, ”To be honest, I don’t understand why this situation occurred either.

”Jiang He’s behavior only appeared recently, and it once shocked me greatly. I even thought she had been possessed by someone.

”I thought about it for a long time but couldn’t figure out why she would suddenly undergo this kind of change.”

Everyone looked at each other, no one speaking.

Li Renshu could be said to be the person with the strongest political consciousness in all of Community 17. If even she found it puzzling, the others would only be more confused.

Lin Sizhi was silent for a moment, then said, ”I actually think you’re overthinking this problem.

”You projected your own political literacy onto Jiang He, so you completely couldn’t understand why she would have such vastly different behavior before and after.”But Jiang He’s change may very likely just be due to a very simple reason:

”Before she believed you had become the community’s power core, in her eyes, the community was controlled by male players like Fu Chen, Cai Zhiyuan, Officer Cao, and you as the only woman were in a subordinate state.

”So she hurriedly hid her tendencies and intentions, not daring to let other people in the community discover them.

”Later, she realized you had already become the community’s power core and believed the conditions were ripe, so she actively and eagerly wanted to participate in the community’s politics.

”I think this is the only reason for Jiang He’s change.”

Li Renshu was stunned. She frowned and pondered for a moment, then nodded with understanding.

”Indeed, I was overthinking it... Lawyer Lin’s explanation is very likely the only reasonable one.”

This topic made the atmosphere in the hall somewhat heavy. Obviously, this was the first time the sensitive topic of ’power core’ was being discussed publicly.

Previous discussions were all conducted privately in small groups but this was something that would happen sooner or later anyway.

On one hand, almost everyone in the community had already connected privately and more or less confirmed the existence of the five-person group. This was no longer such a big secret.

On the other hand, since they were discussing Jiang He’s matter, it was inevitable to explain this topic clearly and thoroughly.

Otherwise, people in the community without such sensitive political awareness wouldn’t understand why Li Renshu made such a decision, and this problem would become a thorn lodged in the flesh.

Cai Zhiyuan said, ”On this point, I support Renshu’s decision.

”My assessment of Jiang He is: her heart is not bad, she’s not smart, and her political ability is not strong either. However, her political sensitivity is very high.

”When ’weak political ability’ and ’high political sensitivity’ both appear in the same person, they will exhibit this kind of somewhat split, self-contradictory behavior.

”Regarding the ’high political sensitivity’ point, I can give a few simple examples. Everyone think about whether this is the case.

”Shortly after entering the community, when everyone wasn’t very familiar yet, Jiang He was already actively getting close to Li Renshu.

”After that, in almost every proposal, although Jiang He didn’t participate much in discussions, she was always the first to express her position and vote.

”In ’Blood Poker’, Jiang He also spontaneously took on the role of leader to communicate and cooperate with Community 3.

”Also, during our first recruitment, even though the male-female ratio was 5:6, she still clearly proposed the demand to recruit women.

”I’m not evaluating whether these things were right or wrong. I’m just saying that these behaviors are all manifestations of ’high political sensitivity’.”

Everyone recalled separately, then nodded one after another.

These things did indeed leave some impression.

Taking out any single incident alone didn’t really prove anything but with so many things together, it was hard to explain with pure coincidence.

Wang Yongxin frowned, ”So Jiang He’s behavior is indeed somewhat self-contradictory.

”Being the first to vote every time represents her intention to actively participate in proposal discussions. However, every time proposals are discussed, she doesn’t speak.

”Our atmosphere for discussing proposals is very relaxed, not serious, and in most cases, people can speak freely.

”This shows she’s not that she doesn’t want to speak, but that she doesn’t dare to.

”When Fu Chen was chairing proposals, she worried that expressing political views would expose her, that she would be excluded and targeted, so she chose to hide herself, not express opinions, only expressing her support at the end when voting after the dust had settled.

”As Li Renshu chaired more proposals, Jiang He believed her thoughts would no longer be rejected by the community, and might even become mainstream with Li Renshu’s support.

”So she started expressing her demands more directly, especially when discussing with Li Renshu one-on-one privately.

”Of course, Jiang He’s behavior might have some lag. On one hand, it might be because she couldn’t accurately judge the specific time when Li Renshu became the core, and on the other hand, it might be for the sake of caution.

”But regardless, after she confirmed this point, she began to no longer hide her thoughts. That’s why it gives people the feeling of ’suddenly becoming a different person’.”

Li Renshu continued, ”I think it’s necessary to emphasize again that our community should be maximally tolerant of different political views.

”Regarding feminist views, frankly speaking, I also agree with many aspects. Similarly, if certain players in the community hold extreme masculinist views, as long as they don’t affect community stability, other people have no right to interfere.

”On this point, members of our community should have full freedom of choice. Believe in whatever you want to believe.

”However, we absolutely cannot allow any single narrative to invade our community’s political life and become mainstream.”

Li Renshu paused slightly, then continued:

”All identity narratives, in my view, are single narratives.

”And gender narrative, among all identity narratives, is the worst kind, because it directly leads to half the people opposing the other half.

”The fewer people in a political entity, the more unstable it is, the more it lacks margin for error.

”If it were a country with tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of people, then although a single narrative would also bring some unstable tendencies, ultimately because the volume is large enough, it wouldn’t immediately produce such obvious destructive effects.

”But our community only has 12 people. If any single narrative gains the upper hand, stability will cease to exist, leaving only endless chaos and infighting.

”So if Jiang He hadn’t encountered a life-and-death crisis in the game, it would be difficult for us to actively kick her out. We could only try our best to bridge this divide and repair the possible damage.

”But if she encountered a life-and-death crisis in the game, I also couldn’t use the death immunity token bought by all community members to save her.

”Of course, ultimately this is a subjective judgment I made, and I’m willing to take full responsibility for it.

”If everyone feels this judgment is inappropriate, we can also vote again to entrust the death immunity token to someone else for safekeeping.”
