Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

”It looks like I arrived a bit late.”

Not long after Rengu’s ”prohibition” announcement took effect, Bi Fang walked in through the main entrance at a leisurely pace, thermal cup in hand.

”Teacher Bi Fang!”

King Vulture looked toward Bi Fang with pleasant surprise.

Lacan narrowed his eyes. ”So it’s you... Bi Fang.”

”Who else could it be, Lacan,” Bi Fang said, looking at him. This man, who also appeared unremarkable, slowly came to a stop amidst the crowd. ”It could only be me.”

The two didn’t look like one of the Psychological Society’s top council members and one of the Night Watchmen’s strongest experts engaged in conversation. Rather, they resembled a helpless middle-aged man meeting with his child’s homeroom teacher and math teacher after a parent-teacher conference to discuss his child’s issues in private.

And the balance of power on the scene wasn’t disrupted by Bi Fang’s arrival, because on the Psychological Society’s side... another S-Class Specialist had already shown up as well.

”Sorry, sorry, I ran into a submersible on the way here while swimming over and got knocked for a loop, so I stopped to argue with them and that delayed me a bit,” a voice drifted down along with a rope descending from a hole in the ceiling. Then a man in black, drenched from head to toe, slid down the rope. ”Whew—anyway, I made it in time!”

”Made it in time my ass, you idiot actually swam here? Why didn’t that submersible just run you over and finish you off, I swear, Potassium Chloride, you’re so brain-dead it’s unreal, did your family not have money when you were a kid so they scraped wall plaster off and mixed it with water to feed you like powdered milk, stunting your nutritional development and giving you severe cerebral edema so now you have such an affinity for water that you just have to dive in and swim a few laps,” Dolantine walked over and kicked the black-clad man in the rear. ”If you’d just taken a boat and arrived a few minutes earlier, we could’ve grabbed the inheritance and been long gone by now!”

The man—wearing a black hoodie, black jeans, and black sneakers, with earrings and a lip piercing that gave him a distinctly artsy vibe—hopped around dodging Dolantine’s kicks. ”I had no choice... I’m a stranger in the Misty Islands, where was I supposed to find a boat?”

Listening to the exchange, Fu Luo furrowed his brow slightly. ”This is the Psychological Society’s last S-Class Specialist? His code name is Potassium Chloride... That doesn’t seem right, does it?”

He muttered to himself, and Kitty and King Vulture looked at Fu Luo with admiration—the two of them still hadn’t managed to catch this guy’s code name.

Although they’d vaguely heard the code name slip past amidst Dolantine’s machine-gun barrage of words, at that information density, it was hard to instantly latch onto such a rapidly flashing keyword.

Bi Fang, standing nearby, looked somewhat curious. ”What doesn’t seem right?”

”Aren’t all the Psychological Society’s executive specialist code names various psychiatric medications? How is his a chemical formula?” Fu Luo said, puzzled. ”Although it does have medicinal uses too... but it’s for treating cardiac arrhythmias, right? It has nothing to do with the psychiatric field?”

As he spoke, Potassium Chloride suddenly looked at Fu Luo.

”The famous Furbollo truly is knowledgeable, but you’re wrong this time. I’m actually one of the universal solutions for treating many psychiatric disorders.”

Potassium Chloride said with a smile, ”In my view, all psychological and mental illnesses ultimately have two sets of ’final’ treatment protocols—different in method but identical in purpose.”

”First, if they willingly accept treatment, one can attempt an overdose injection of barbiturates.”

”Second, if their willingness is low and a final treatment protocol must be employed, one can consider restraining them and administering three consecutive intravenous pushes of sodium thiopental, a muscle relaxant, and a high-concentration potassium chloride solution.”

”So... potassium chloride is, in a sense, one of the greatest psychiatric medications of our time.”

At these words, the atmosphere on the scene turned cold.

Everyone understood what Potassium Chloride meant.

The first method he described was the common euthanasia protocol.

The second... was the lethal injection execution protocol currently in practice.

Either way, the end result was ”death.”

In other words...

In this Psychological Society S-Class executive specialist’s eyes, ”death” was, for many people suffering from mental illness, a genuinely effective and viable ”treatment” option.

”Truly... a madman.”

Fu Luo couldn’t help but curse.

Rengu also sighed. ”The Psychological Society... the very existence of this organization is a scourge upon the world.”

Bi Fang, however, seemed somewhat accustomed to it and spoke calmly, ”So, never show these people any mercy... and don’t try to converse with any member, especially senior members.”

”Every member of the Psychological Society is insane to the bone.”

As he spoke, he glanced at Rengu.

Rengu, wearing his administrative jacket, naturally understood the underlying message.

”The situation is special, Teacher Bi Fang... Choosing to ’negotiate’ this time was the result of weighing many factors.”

”This wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision on my part, but an urgent notice I received from above before I came to the Misty Islands—the higher-ups had only just made the decision.”

Hearing Rengu say this, Bi Fang naturally understood what he meant.

Who else could be above the South China Regional Director?

Of course, it was Order’s highest council of five.

Bi Fang naturally had no further objections.

”In that case... I’ll follow your lead.”

He stepped closer and said in a low voice, ”Rengu, what’s the bottom line that Order can accept?”

”The first-generation Freud’s Exclusive Item hasn’t disappeared... Aside from that Exclusive Item, everything else can be let go,” Rengu also said quietly. ”I’ve consumed a large amount of ’RULE code’ to prevent both the Heart Domain and the Exclusive Item from being activated, so the intensity of battle is definitely limited. A low-intensity fight is absolutely advantageous for us. So no matter what the final outcome is... securing that Exclusive Item is the top priority.”

”Teacher Bi Fang, the concessions made here are for a greater gain!”

Bi Fang frowned. ”Is there a greater gain than this ’inheritance’? If this thing falls into the Psychological Society’s hands, the current Freud’s strength will only swell further... You went through all that trouble to keep the Free Alliance from producing another Fourth Tier—aren’t you afraid of the Psychological Society’s leader becoming even more terrifying?”

”I don’t know the specific details, but I trust the organization, and I hope you’ll trust it along with me,” Rengu’s words weren’t forceful, but his attitude was resolute. ”Besides, as long as the Exclusive Item doesn’t fall into the Psychological Society’s hands, everything else is acceptable!”

Bi Fang let out a sigh. ”Fine, you’ve convinced me... Then let’s talk.”

”It’s not really talking, either.”

Rengu lowered his voice even further, revealing a look of cunning—even slyness.

Cunning could come in many forms—but Rengu’s wasn’t the lively cleverness of youth. It was more like the accumulated experience of an old hand at work.

”If something unexpected really happens... we’ll activate the Concealing Dust. That thing is already invincible below Second Tier, let alone in the Misty Islands—at that point, you smash the statues, I grab the inheritance, Tycoon holds people back, and we grab and run, leaving these Psychological Society bastards completely empty-handed!”
