ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「Umm, hello? I’m just a cog in the great machine known as the “Plan B”! One of many and easily disposable!」

「And once I stop functioning one day, they are just going to replace me with an identical model that is going to be named Elma as well!」

「Is that your problem!? Girl, even though there might be tens of thousands of Elma Type Conquest Dolls out there, there will always be only one Elma=317, wouldn’t you agree!? So you are one of a kind!」

Yes, this is what this whole discussion is all about. There may be thousands upon thousands of Elma Type Conquest Dolls out there in the world somewhere, but there is always going to be only one Elma=317. She is unique and no one can deny her that simple fact. It is something that will never change, no matter the passage of time. No matter how much the updated Elma Type will be produced in the future, there is only one Elma Type that managed to help me tame Wimp and was shot down, and the only Elma Type that I accidentally encountered on my adventures –––––– Elma=317.

In the first place, the most important thing should be that you are “right here, right now”. But I see that this isn’t the case with you. So what is the real cause here? Well, it turns out to be so stupid, that it’s actually really simple. And not to mention that cloudy face of hers, which makes this whole thing even more aggravating than it has to be!

「Alright, you piece of scrap! I’ll say that as loudly and as clearly as possible, so that your scrap brain can understand it! So clear those auditory sensors and set them to maximum, because I’m not going to repeat myself!」

SMACK! With that I delivered a forehead flick to Sigma’s forehead, making sure that she would show me her undivided attention.

「–––––– You are just being afraid because your creator told you something terrible. That’s about it.」

「………… I’m scared, you say?」

「Anyways, once we end up entering that lab, we might end up witnessing something that might make you think that “Ah, yes., that’s right. After all, Conquest Dolls are mere tools to be used”. Do you know what this is called out there in the world? That’s called paranoia, girl.」

Honestly, if my parents were to tell me “I should have never given birth to you”, or “You were a mistake”, it would be pretty shocking. But still, even if you were told that, what other choice would you have but to keep on moving forward? Precisely, moving forward is the only option in a situation like that.

「From my standpoint, the thing that you are lacking the most right now is courage.」

「Courage?」

「But even so, we do not need to accept everything that others tell us as facts. And even more, since we are still here and we are alive, why do we have to concern ourselves with the words and curses of those who already departed from this world?」

You can always refer to the words of a retired ex-players, but you don’t have to follow the same rules as they did. Same as that, this chattering intelligence box is overly scared that Andrew Jitter Doll may only think of the Conquest Dolls as nothing more but mere tools. That’s the root of the problem.

No matter what I am going to say here, this madness was started by a guy who designed the Conquest Dolls and whose common sense stopped working about thousands of years ago. However, I think it’s okay to just ditch that original story and give an entirely new meaning to yourself after so much time has already passed.

「Question: Whatever should I do now?」

「I think that you already know the answer to that question yourself, you moron…… Now act like it.」

「……………Huh?」

「Ego, identity, intelligence. It doesn’t matter what you call it, it’s not something that is evaluated and decided by others. No matter how you might be despised by others, you are still you and that’s what should be the most important to you! So get your head out of your ass and start acting like it!」

And it’s not like I can’t relate to Sigma’s troubles to some extent. I had similar experiences in the past, you see. But in my case it was all related to shitty games.

Human beings are mysterious creatures. You know what I’m talking about. If someone says to you that a particular game is utter garbage and you should stay away from it, you only want to play it even more to see what all the fuss is about is. There are times when we deliberately indoctrinate ourselves to perceive something bad as being “good”. And I know that feeling all too well.

No matter what other people might say, I only buy those shitty games that I personally want to play. I’ve actually been told, “I don’t know the sanity of the guy who buys this kind of game,” but you’re not playing the game because you want to be assured of your sanity, you moron! If you are doing something, you are best to do it for your own sake and no one else’s. When people say that something is terrible, they are usually basing that on hearsay exclusively…… If you can evaluate the game only by the numerical meta score and the text review from some website, you should do only reading impressions and sudoku for the rest of your life.

Ahh, those black flames are really making me want to go! Negative motivation sometimes produces stronger firepower than positive motivation! Isn’t it the strongest if both are thrown into the furnace together!?

「What you need the most right now is not the strength to accept the facts, but the courage to knock them down and trample them even if they managed to hit you and hurt you pretty badly.」

That is why this thing was supposed to be a sort of a graduation exam.

「What even is the Golden Age? If you wish to rebel against your creators and defy the world itself, you might as well start it all up with taking down the King of All Crystal Scorpions, huh?」

If so, then let’s get crazy out there, Sigma! It’s so much fun to rebel against your own parents and the world itself, don’t you think?

…… Even though I would have never been able to do that in real life to my parents, for sure. I’m way too much of a coward for that.
