ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「SUPPRESSION EVOLUTION MECHANISM QUENCH EVOLUTION DRIVE. THE IDENTIFICATION CODE HERE IS “Q.E.D”…… IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT HUMAN BEINGS COULD NOT SETTLE ON THIS PLANETS IN THEIR CURRENT STATE DURING THE ERA OF THE GODS, AND IT WAS THAT TECHNOLOGY THAT WAS BORN AT THE VERY END IN ORDER TO COUNTERACT THAT.」

If there are a lot of test tubes on the wall near the hole of this place, then it also must have meant that there will be a whole lot of test tubes in other places around this ship as well.

Once we got down through the hole in the floor, we started to register ourselves in the system while “Ivory” carried on with her explanation.

「WHAT WAS NEEDED IN HERE WAS NOT ONLY THE EXPANSION OF ORGANS THAT WOULD SUPRESS THE FORCED REACTIONS THAT THE OLD HUMANITY EXHIBITED WHEN THROWN ONTO THIS PLANET, BUT WE ALSO NEEDED A NEW ECOLOGY IN WHICH THE NEW HUMANITY WOULD BE ABLE TO THRIVE AND EXPAND…… YES, THERE WAS A NEED FOR PEOPLE WHO WOULD BE FOUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT FROM YOU, MY CHILDREN. THE CONCEPT OF “HUMANITY” THAT WAS DEEPLY “ROOTED” INTO THE PLANET’S ENVIORNMENT EVER SINCE ITS BEGINNING……」

Long story short, she was talking about the NPCs now.

However, it was as if the Professor was waiting for those exact words to make their appearance. I wonder if it was because he was also the one bestowed with “knowledge” and wanted to “teach” others, but he then turned towards the “Ivory” and asked her with a face full of expectations.

「But in that case, what about us? If everything what you are saying here is true, then what about people growing old and dying? If the natural cycle of life and death was to continue, wouldn’t it leave the world empty at some point in time?」

「THAT’S A VERY INTERESTING POINT OF VIEW TO ADAPT, PROFESSOR. STRICTYLY SPEAKING, THE FIRST PART OF THE PLAN ITSELF HAS ALREADY BEEN ACHIEVED AND EXECUTED INTO ACTION ABOUT THREE THOUSAND YEARS AGO. NOW IS THE FOLLOW-UP FOR THAT PLAN, WHICH WAS TO TAKE PLACE ABOUT ONE THOUSAND YEARS LATER. ALL Q.E.D. THAT ARE CURRENTLY IN OPERATION SERVE THE PURPOSE OF EXECUTING THE “PLAN B”.」

Plan B…… My knowledge on that subject is pretty much fragmented, but I do believe that I know more about it than the rest of the playerbase. At least those who are yet to conquer the Leviathan.

「Plan B…… I saw some of the materials connected to it at the Leviathan. It’s a plan about giving birth to human race born with a specific “role” and “backstory”, isn’t that right……?」

「OH MY, HOW WONDERFUL! IT SEEMS THAT YOU HAVE MANAGED TO LEARN A WHOLE LOT, SANRAKU! HERE, A REWARD FOR ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS THUS FAR!」

For reasons whatever, it seems that I have managed to accumulate about five thousand Results…… Yay, I guess? After all, it seems that each Bahamut ship uses different things as their in-game currencies. So this means that whoever thought that they could rack up the currency at Leviathan and then blow it all up at other ships would be in for a very rude awakening.

「FIRST OF ALL, THERE IS SOMETHING THAT I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW…… YOU ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE BEEN BORN WITH THE EXPECTATION OF CONDUCTING WAY GREATER PLANETARY DEVELOPMENT THAN THOSE BEFORE YOU, BY VIRTUE OF HAVING THE STRENGTH NECESSARY TO OVERCOME THE ENVIORNMENTAL HAZARDS AND NATURE OF THE FIRST HUMANITY. IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME SICE SUCH FINE SPECIMENS WERE PRODUCED HERE.」

「Ah, so that would explain why we were all born as human adults, instead of having an infancy period……!!」

「No, looking at you right now, one would start to doubt that fact……」

「Be careful about the temperature of the milk that you are drinking! You don’t want to burn your baby tongue!」

「That’s the one and only side of someone I consider an acquaintance that I do not wish to know……!」

Yeah, talk about being a one big baby……

「BOTH THE EFFICIENCY OF MANA PARTICLES ABSORBTION AND BODY REDUCTION IS UPWARDS COMPATIBLE WHEN COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL HUMANS…… IF YOU GET DOWN TO IT , IT COULD BE SAID THAT YOU POSSESS THE BODIES THAT ARE GOING TO REWARD ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS THAT YOU PUT INTO THINGS THAT YOU DO……」

Ahh, now I see, although hearing it in such a way sure feels weird. So, if NPCs…… As well as Original Humans are considered to be “ordinary” and “normal” in this world, there must also be a limit to all of their efforts and what they can accomplish. And above all else, there is a limit to how long they can live their live.

However, the players…… Plan B humans are different creatures whatsoever. They can give up their lives for of rare items or loot, and even if they die, they will be revived just for the cost of having to wait a moment and then suffering a major inconvenience called Death Penalty.

「BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU POSSESS A TREMENDOUS DEMERIT IN THIS WORLD…… THAT YOU ARE BOUND TO DISSAPPEAR ONCE YOUR WILL TO MOVE FORWARD IS GOING TO DIMINISH……」

「Does that mean that such players are treated as defective and terminated?」

「Well, I mean, in the real world many people consider retirement as equal to death, wouldn’t you say?」

「Ah, it seems that if you log in once every half a year or so, even those of the NPCs with which you were pretty close and intimate will devolve to the levels of: Excuse me, but who are you?」

「But even if you were to subtract it all, that would still make us Players semi-immortal creatures in this world.」

Even if there are players who are seriously absorbed in this game, it was not so shocking because it is usually treated as “Pioneers can withstand a death or two” regardless of the fact if you are a Player or an actual NPC.

But that’s because there are people who can’t save their questions as they are and wait with them for later.

「Then what is it, exactly? Are you saying that we are just pawns that were abandoned from the get-go? Because as far as I can tell, the next generation human beings only helped the original humanity, bringing it peace and prosperity……」

「NO, PROFESSOR, THAT’S NOT IT. THAT’S NOT EVEN CLOSE. BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, YOU ARE PIONEERS, FIRST AND FOREMOST. NEVER FORGET THAT. AND IF NOTHING ELSE, THIS HERE “IVORY” OF BEHEMOTH CAN GUARANTEE YOU THAT WITH MY DIGNITY ON THE LINE.」
