Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 101: Chapter 84: Chaos Begins

Fatty An scurried over again, food container in hand, dutifully playing the part of the delivery boy.

But just as he got close, he suddenly froze on the spot.

Because at the scene, besides Li Qian’s Qizai and Xiaoliu, he also saw three imposing Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragons.

The three Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragons were in different poses—one lying prone, one coiled up, and one floating in the air—a sight that made Fatty An’s eyes nearly pop out of his head.

Even if a Frostfire Salamander had higher Racial Potential and more Powerful Skills, in terms of sheer appearance, it just couldn’t compare to a Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragon.

It had to be said, Pet Beasts of the Eastern Dragon Species were just plain cool, far beyond what the big lizards of the Western Dragon Species could ever hope to match.

Looking at the majestic Jin Yi, Jin Er, and Jin San, Fatty An couldn’t help but frown.

He was certain that none of these three Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragons was his Tan Tou.

Because if Tan Tou had evolved, he would have definitely received evolutionary feedback.

Yet, neither his body nor his Spirit had received the slightest feedback, which was enough to prove that Tan Tou had not completed its evolution.

’It made no sense for all three Koi Carp from the Cultivation Base to evolve successfully while his own Tan Tou was left behind.’

As this thought crossed his mind, a bad premonition began to surface.

”Qianzi, where’s my Tan Tou?” Fatty An placed the food container in front of Li Qian and asked impatiently.

Li Qian took the food container and gave an awkward smile, then pointed to a nearby pool. ”About that... I don’t even know how to break it to you...”

”Same evolution method, same location. I even specifically placed Tan Tou in the middle of the sequence, but the result... The three Koi Carp from the Cultivation Base successfully evolved into Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragons, but Tan Tou failed!”

Hearing this, Fatty An was stunned for a moment. ’This situation... why does it sound so... bizarre?!’

After all, among the four Koi Carp evolving this time, Tan Tou’s Potential was theoretically the highest.

But now, the situation was completely reversed. To be honest, if this wasn’t happening on his own watch, even Li Qian would have suspected the Breeder of playing favorites.

Seeing that Fatty An was a little slow to react, clearly shocked by the outcome, Li Qian continued without pausing, ”Tan Tou was too impatient. During the evolution, when it climbed to a height of over ninety meters, its strength gave out and it fell.”

”It’s in the pool now. You should go and comfort it...”

Li Qian didn’t tell Fatty An that a failed evolution could affect the creature’s Racial Potential.

So, after hearing his explanation, the latter wasn’t particularly sad or upset, though a little disappointment was, of course, unavoidable!

Not doubting the truth of Li Qian’s words—after all, Li Qian had no reason to deceive him—Fatty An quickly walked over to the edge of the pool.

Seeing this, Li Qian smiled. He paid no mind to the interaction between Fatty An and Tan Tou and, without hesitation, opened the food container and began to eat heartily.

Looking at the food in the container, he nodded in satisfaction.

’Judging from the appearance alone, this food was definitely made by my mother.’

’She made all my favorite dishes.’

Just as night began to fall, right around dinnertime, while Li Qian was feasting, on the other side of Lingshui City, all sorts of riots and disturbances were beginning to unfold!

On a main road in the city, a taxi suddenly lost control and crashed into a sedan next to it.

BOOM!

The two cars collided. Although the sedan looked more expensive and high-end, it was sent flying by the taxi, crashing straight into a nearby storefront. The shop’s glass door instantly shattered into a million pieces.

”Ah!”

”Waaaah...”

”Help, help! Someone save me...”

”What’s going on!”

”A crash, a crash! There’s been a car crash! Quickly, call the police and an ambulance!”

”...”

From inside the sedan and the street-side shop, shouts, cries of pain, and panicked chatter instantly melded into a chaotic cacophony.

The scene was a total mess!

After getting over their initial shock, many people sprang into action, summoning their Pet Beasts.

In this world, one couldn’t say that great power belonged to the individual alone, but thanks to the existence of Pet Beasts, humans were at least not as frail as those on the Earth of Li Qian’s previous life.

Someone summoned a Water-type Pet Beast, which shot out a Water Gun to extinguish the flames on the sedan.

Someone else summoned an incredibly strong Pet Beast that pried open the twisted car door with its bare hands, rescuing a father and son trapped inside.

Just as people were feeling relieved that the father and son, though injured, were out of mortal danger, the runaway, driverless taxi on the street suddenly began to clatter. Then, right before everyone’s eyes, it disassembled and reassembled, transforming in the blink of an eye into an adult-sized robot.

”What is that...”

”A Car Robot?”

”That taxi was actually a Car Robot!”

”...”

Seeing this, everyone gasped in astonishment.

Immediately after, they noticed something was wrong. The suddenly-appeared Car Robot abruptly raised its arm and materialized a bundle of gun barrels!

Someone recognized the Car Robot’s skill and shouted a warning, ”Everyone, get back! That’s the Mad Rampage Skill!”

While not an overwhelmingly powerful skill, its strengths lay in its wide coverage and long duration. It might struggle against a powerful Beast Master, but against an average one, it was a sure thing.

The one who shouted the warning didn’t hesitate for a second, immediately barking a command to their Pet Beast, ”Unihorn Rhinoceros, use Earth Wall!”

The rhinoceros—covered in grayish-brown, solid Scale Armor and built like a small hill—heard the command, violently raised its front hooves, and then slammed them down hard on the ground.

Immediately, a thick Earth Wall rose up out of nowhere, blocking the Car Robot.

BANG BANG BANG...

At that very moment, the Car Robot’s barrels began to spin wildly, spitting fire as countless bullets flew out like a rainstorm, peppering the Earth Wall.

Although the Earth Wall blocked most of the bullets, it could only protect one direction; it was powerless against the other three.

Bullets flew out, some hitting people and leaving them severely injured and screaming in agony, while others shattered the windows and glass doors of nearby shops, terrifying the shoppers inside.

In an instant, order on the street collapsed into chaos...

Meanwhile, this sudden attack was not the only one happening in Lingshui City...
